The stock canopy is one of the reasons I want a CB 180D. It's a nice, classy design and subtle look. The one you put on seems to be generic - a dime a dozen.
@temboy094 When you say "strong" do you mean in a crash? It's a robust little hei. You can crash it and come away with $10 in damage. It's a good bargain, but with the 45 degree head it's kind of easy to fly. If you're looking for a true 90 degree head 4-channel heli, don't get this one. You'd be better with a Honeybee FP V2 or something similar.
hey great video ! well done with the modification its flawless
but since i am a noob at this could you tell me what kind of motor u use for the direct drive and where to get it so in the future i can do it on my own.
I never saw the mods on this video when i watched 1st time... so everything is stock accept canopy and tail mod? i flew mine last night without any wind and it moved plenty fast..i wish i had a field like that in my back yard where you only have to worry about hitting the ground to hard and nothing else...I am now liking this copter a lot more and am thinking of getting another maybe the airwolf marine version which looks so sweet...thanks for great vids justin...craig
Good stuff,Does anyone know if new exceed madhawk 2.4 trans with display binds with this walkera 180 d?..i found a new walkera 180d cheap but its a bind and fly..
I really want a rc heli, but have never flown before.
Can I fly a 180 even if I've never flown a co axel? Or will I just have a hard time and crash it? Is the Walkera 180D really as easy to fly as a co-axl? That is what some of the ad's say.I saw it at ChineesJade for 155$ shipped. Is that good price? How long do they take to ship? Unless someone starts yelling- Stop don't buy it =- you need a co axl, I think I will order this
ChineseJade is great. Fast and cheap shipping. That's where I purchased my heli! I wouldn't recommend this as a first heli, but definately one of your firsts. You can probably fly this heli "out of the box", but YOU WILL CRASH! This is a sturdy helicopter, so you won't get much damage. Make sure you buy extra blades and tail rotors. Maybe even extra landing skids, because those items will break easily. Good luck!!
Isn't there a cb180Q or is it just D? if so what's the difference? I'm really interested in this heli!!! What does it take to do the tail mod direct drive? Thanks for your response. :-)
I got mine to follow up on a Blade CX3. It is as stable, but far more better at scooting around, as J's vid shows. If you want to step up from coax, the CB180D/Madhawk 300 is a super choice!
The original canopy is subtle and classy. One of the reasons I want one of these.
Nice flying, btw!

Is this a strong Heli? I'm thinking of buying one of these. This will be my second 4 Chanel. Is this a good bargain?

@AuroraCypher - First off, thanks. Hit RTF-Heli.com and then go to the CB180 section. You'll find the motor there.

@BaileyEFT this heli is fine for a beginner JUST don't go out and by a collective pitch heli for you first rc helicoper
geekpeptalk 1 year ago
I want this heli but I have never flown co axel. Will a first timer be able to fly this? with some simulator practice?
BaileyEFT 2 years ago
A beginner may be able to fly this. Simulator time would be beneficial. I started on co-axial so transitioning to this helicopter was much easier.

J, also, are you running the stock servo setting or did you crank it up some? I've got mine at factory. Yours?
bluehazer 2 years ago
Stock servo. I cranked the ext pot and moved the servo arms to the center of the Bell Hiller Mixer.
jhawk1977 2 years ago
How about a close-up of that next time? I'm flying mine out-of-the-box stock, and it's a sexy puppy!
bluehazer 2 years ago
great job,so the only added parts was the tail motor and everything else is stock?
3255959 2 years ago
J, check out the new Exceed Madhawk helis. Identical to the CB180D/Q birds. Different schemes, yes. You can always use the 300 canopy!
bluehazer 2 years ago
Already on it! Trying to pick up one before Christmas.
jhawk1977 2 years ago
Fantastic helicopter that is catching on so fast! I'm trying to wear mine out. Nice video, yes, really shows off how stable the CB180D is!

Thanks alot for the info, it helps!!! God Bless

wkialyleiam 2 years ago
The CB180Q has a scale Bell 222 fuselage. The CB180D is is the hobby styled setup. Otherwise they're both the same.
jhawk1977 2 years ago
The D canopy, too, allows more cooling air from the rotor downwash, something to keep in mind for motor durability.

i ordered mine today. is thing as stable as they say? i have a cx2 and a hbk2. but want something simple and a good step up from the coaxial.
progamerIII 2 years ago
This helicopter is very stable, yes. If you've flown coaxials before, this is a great next helicopter!

Great video! Thanks...
Why is the direct drive tail so much better than stock?? I have to say that sometimes the heli doen't seem to respond as accurate as I would like??
Where did you buy the direct drive kit and what type is it ??
