This was a test project I did in Gamestudio 4 years ago. The code is long lost, and I've moved on to XNA. All I have is advice: Use some tricky inverse vector math to transform the camera's position relative to the target view, and use a shader to draw the image onto the model, using screen coordinates for the texture coords.
very cool! as you've probably noticed though, there is sometimes a kind of "flicker" as you go through a portal; sometimes it is perfectly seamless and it looks fantastic!
The red that you see on the portals is because I made it so that "second-layer" portals are not drawn. Some issues occur when rendering a portal inside a portal...

The seamless parts are amazing, try to work on that transition error and 'flicker-snapping' some more! You're right, you are getting there!
