Fortress funds, where Edwards has significant investment, recently bought Centex Home Equity - now known as Nationstar Mortgage - which offers loans with higher interest rates and fees than other traditional mortgages to people with questionable credit ratings -- the exact same industry that Edwards says he opposes and wants to regulate. American Dream is dead? News to me and others who have worked hard, honestly & ethically to afford nice homes and a good life for our families. People say there is no longer an American Dream because they can't afford the 5K sqft house on the golf course, the matching Mercedes, Rolexes, etc.
