You either don't know or hope I don't know that social security has been borrowed from ad nauseum...and STILL, with no changes, will be around for another 20 - 30 years. A lot of old people would disagree on your assessment of medicare...
And, the post office kept prices low because its goal was not to make a profit. Get a private company to mail a letter for the same price... So far you've got nothin'

@masercot Not comparing it (SSI) to a Private Company, I am just calling it what it is. The Post Office raises it prices every few months to keep up with inflation, thus explaining the problem with social security and why it wont last unless the currency devalues, which will keep us poor ( by us having to make more money for the same services), which our president isn't addressing. The post office operates as a private business.
Also, I have seen the scooter scams on TV. Their great.

So, let's see: A company that was successful for two hundred years, medical insurance so successful it will cost several congressmen their seats trying to remove it and a retirement plan that may fail in twenty-five years if no one does...anything at all...

People getting something for free will not vote for a politician trying to take it away. That's why most blacks vote democrat. "Some" poor Negroes like handouts. Other don't like the conditions being in place to where they have no choice.

@masercot | Don't be naive to the fact the USPS is part of the government. Its a more-like a company now, but 97% of the 200 years you are referring to it was more of a government (military) entity than it is now. In fact, the government had financial problems as far back as Lincoln and James Madison, the 1860's - 90's, the 1910's, the 1930's and so on and so forth. So your point is null.

My goodness, don't be using the Post Office as example of government working, its a perfect example of long they keep thing sin place that doesn't work. Last I check the price for package delivery is about the Same between Fedex, UPS, Airborne, DHL, and LoneStar(TX)....
