The original ECW fans and the wrestling fans from the 90's and early 2000's are different from the fans of today. Back in the day pro wrestling had basically the same audience that the NFL, NHL, NBA, boxing and MLB had. Now days a few of them are left but the other 95% of WWE's audience is filled with soft teenage boys and little kids and soccer moms who have NO IDEA of how wrestling use to be at it's apex. That's why The Rock is back to bring back in all the blue collar fans.

2. I would agree with you if Edge hadn't appeared from out of nowhere and speared Cena to a table. So there you have the beginnings (or the continuation - I can't remember precisely) of a storyline: the feud between Cena and Edge. Obviously Cena turning heel even for that night would be a problem if you mix Edge in.
