hi dino Happy new year!!! i just bought the disc aliens blue ray. and kinda upset because i like watching it in spanish language too. but the 1990 version extended ver. has a glitch i think? when playing in spanish i goes back and forth to english when the extended scenes go on? does that happen with yours? just wondering if its just my disc. or all of the the cameron aliens discs?

Its not a Queen its just an interpretation the Space Jockey was a different species all together we act on the premise that Aliens are bio weapons.... then the Jockey is a different creature.. But its also argued that the Predators created the Aliens or Yatzeed Jockey ships perhaps.....

@Hauntedman1 Yeah I was reading in Empire Magazine on what Ridley Scott had planned for the prequel, and he mentioned that the Alien might look quite different to what we have seen before, I think even mentioned Insect sized Aliens. He also mentioned that they were Bio weapons that are used to destroy the indigenous population, so the Space Jockeys can then populate the planet.

@dinolast This is true Prometheus "The title of the Alien remake" or prequel is supposed to be an entire retelling of the Franchise im interested in seeing what he has planned...

There was gonna be a prequel series but it was cancelled. There is not gonna be a remake but a new movie (franchise?) in which some elements of Alien will occur. That is something completely different.

many years ago, when I saw Alien, the whole quatrology at once. I had the opportunity to see in on huge home made cinema on projection. I havent seen any original alien movie ever since becose I didnt wanted to spoil that experiance. Now I am dedinitely going to watch THIS version.

Looks like the Alien is clinging onto a gigantic turd with light bulb up it! LOL I’ve seen the screen captures of Alien and the cropped of sides is not a good sign for bluray Fox format! Another scam by Fox bluray! and the dtsHDMA! Wasn’t ALIEN all the ALIEN films mix in DOLBY!

No thanks I'll keep the DVD versions I don't fancy double dipping on Fox ALIEN bluray scam!

cool set man! I wouldn't mind having one but if I did I keep it intact. I got the box set instead and I am very impress with it. Its got nice art work displayed nicely printed on a matte finished mat board. Very cool! Best collectors set since the Quad trilogy set.

I also seem to recall all ALIEN films being THX certified on region1 DVD, not sure about the bluray and I don’t care for it, much now. Seems like region B Fox Bluray customers get a raw deal!

This set contains the same Aliens transfer as the quadrilogy.

I passed on the egg set. Personally it is over priced for what you get. The sculpt used could of been something much better. The cd style fold out isn't too appealing either. I have the US standard and love it other than the fact that the discs slide in a sleeve instead of a snap style like the UK edition. So far I have watched ALIEN. Visually it looks gorgeous but the audio is not all that great.

I pre-ordered the egg set, but didn't have the money to pay for it on time, so I had to cancel. I'm sorta glad I canceled it. I'm not too big a fan of the artwork that came with the egg packaging. I'm happy with the standard box set. Looks nice on my shelf too!

I have DVD set of Aliens and Predator and both the vs movies. I have to agree watching Aliens was a very grainy picture and made the film look a little weak. I'm glad we have a restored version. I almost went back to the VHS but you forget how bad quality they where. Especially now on HD tvs.

when i got my set, i put alien resurrection in (my sister's favorite, and she urged me to do so). it played normally. but then when i take resurrection out and put alien in, alien wouldn't work ! says i need updates, i take it out put aliens in, it says the same thing, take it out put alien 3 in, it says the same thing, take it out put resurrection in, and it wouldn't play now it says the same thing ! what the hell is up with that ??? resurrection worked before but now it's not working !!??

Seriously I love alien and I think he Quadrilogy is up there with the 13 disc superman boxset as the best dd boxsets ever. I think the idea of puttingextended versions of series was genius and aftr watching every film the Alie 3 extended version is my fave alien ever not only is it a great character piece but alot more story based than i think the others (alien is more a terror, aiens is action and resurrection is an action) and the documentary on 3 for me as a film student was eye opening

Do you know... I have been back and forth with this all day... lol.. I got it yesterday and have been looking at it.. trying to decide whether I love it or hate it.. I thought I hated it, and even listed it on ebay.. but after watching this vid... I have maybe decided to maybe love it again... lol.. What I can say is that your vid and review are excellent.. And have certainly made me go and revisit this item.. and perhaps give her another chance.. Nice one :)

I would say that you should give it a chance, as not that many were made and it might go up in price later on. I really like it, I know it's plastic, but for me that makes the egg look more realistic than if it was Poloystone.

I'm certainly gonna upgrade my Alien collection to bluray...but with regards to this special edition, I'd prefer a nice steel tin or something similar with some nice holographic art work or something similar. Just my personal preference. Great unboxing vid Dino!
