Another facet of this incredible music, but when does the performance date from Truecrypt ? It's relevant to appreciating the style. Wonderful channel - thanks.
A. Brailowsky has always had my vote for best Chopin -- doesn't hammer unnecessarily, shows a relaxed but complete mastery and control without wearing his virtuosity like a badge. More the musician than the showman.
Sort of the EXPRESS version --- no stops or pauses from start to finish.
Having heard Brailowsky live a couple of times in New York the high degree of accuracy and technical assurance here is a pleasant surprise. The man had fingers after all, but little feeling for fantasy.
I wish it were less "EXPRESS" and more "ESPRESSIVO," don't you?
Kissin combines the best features of all previous recordings. His is far and away the finest.
Not bad, but maybe he could have take more time in the first pages of this ballade. Everything is fast. The sadness of the first part is missing. However the coda is quite good.
J. Hofmann, V. Horowitz, S. Richter or M. Argerich are more thrilling.
