I wish Apple would make a modern Mac in this exact formfactor. It would look like a Mac Plus, Classic (NOT color classic!), or SE, have modern hardware in it, maybe run iOS or OSX, with a capacitive touchscreen. I would seriously consider buying one if its price was on par with an iPad2, and I HATE Apple!
@Hiraghm i know it's a 9 inch screen. But for god sake! It's not a tablet! Are you seriously think that a 9 inch touch screen on a desktop computer would work good? With this formfactor? LOL.
@vajksziget7a - why wouldn't it? I used to have an HP-150 with a pseudo-touchscreen that was pretty cool. The screen on my Evo-3D is only 4.3 inch diagonal, and is 540 x 960 resolution. I don't see why a 9" touchscreen computer wouldn't benefit from the added capability.
It would still have a keyboard and mouse, it's not an either-or situation.
@Hiraghm But the HP was not builted for the internet or very intense touch use.Your arm would fall down after a small time of use. The evo 3D is AGAIN A MOBILE DEVICE!
@vajksziget7a - So what if the Evo-3D is a mobile device? First, I already said it wouldn't exclude a keyboard and mouse, it would be an addition. And there are times when it would be convenient to, instead of dragging the mouse around or using the cursor keys, to touch the screen at a given point.
Then again, I'm someone who uses keyboard, mouse, touch-pad, digitizing tablet, even a track ball. Different tools for different functions.
I just ordered a Macintosh Classic on eBay as well, and I am planning on using it! I already got a MIDI interface for it and MOTU Performer MIDI sequencer software. And hey, you are surprised that your Mac runs with 6MB? How about a 16KB IBM 5150 business computer, heh?
@LAURYNAS1337 I can get internet through the use of a serial modem but a vast majority of websites wouldn't even begin to load and the very small amount it could load would not load correctly. The Classic II predates USB by almost 8 years and mainstream use of USB by almost 13 years.
Very cool. System 7.1 would run better since you only have 6mb ram. If you were to look on ebay you could the system disks for 7.1 cheap and still have the same functionalilty for what you want to do.
DUDE, I thought you were a girl at first. When the video started I thought to my self "what a cute hippie lookin chick" then you started talking, and reality set in.
You might need to re-install the Operating System. It might make it boot up faster then again it might not. I used have one of those from about 1986- 1990, when I was a kid I had the original Apple Mac.
6 MB of RAM is more enough for the system so any issue with any installed software might be related to the OS needing re-installing. It is should be possible to get your hands on the Operating System from somewhere because it still a popular PC despite her age. The word processor is great.

i used to have a Apple Macintosh 1987 version but i donated it to a children's hospital because i didn't need it anymore so i gave it to the hospital for the kids to play on in and p.s. it never had internet or music on it, it only had old games like the old version of family feud and more. i've had my computer since i was 3, now it goes on. aaaahhhhhhhh good times.
hi i have a macintosh classic for sale it is in perfect condition and it includes the original mouse and key board the original user manual with the original apple brand apple laser printer the works with it the computer works the key board works the laser printer works and they mouse works i am willing to sell it to you if you want i have no use for it any more you can place an offer for it if you reply to this the shipping will be charged by you zip code, thanks jon
@rs0wnsthenet They are very cheap. However, the Classics are also shit.
I recommend the Macintosh SE, instead. It is still a compact Mac, only it was actually made in the '80s (not the '90s), and has a wee more power, and can be expanded. The only downside is that they cost a wee more.
Back then computers were in the thousands and it didnt do much as compared to today,I bought a new motherboard for about $100.00 new with all the accessories.
I just bough an Atari 1040ST on eBay. I haven't arrived yet in the mail. i hope it's in a good shape like your Macintiosh Classic II. I am looking for either Macintosh SE or SE/30. I think the Classi come after the SE, right? If so, is it supposed to be better than the SE, or is it a scalled down version in order to compete with the price point of IBM clones and Atari ST of the time?
Nice system, looks like it's in great shape too! For the year it came outin, it was ahead of it's time as far as design is concerned. I find Apple always had nice looking systems, they put some time and thought into the design of them. I collect vintage computer equipment and own some really classic systems, they're fun to use. Nostalgia factor.
Dude, that's a sweet machine. I would prefer an Apple Color Classic, but, IDK which machine I might buy on eBay, probably both, and an Apple Performa 5200

My mac classic is so fast, it takes less than 10 seconds to boot and everyone used to hate them because they were slow, it takes less than half the a a computer with 4 gb of ram would
Thanks for sharing your video. Fun stuff. I too have an old Mac with some cool productivity software and lots of very simple games including my favorite, Battle Chess by Interplay.
You're not kidding. It also looks like most of his RAM is getting used up. I've got 7.1 on mine. I had 6.0.7 on my old Classic before it exploded. It was awesome.
