I use Evans Onyx heads on my Slingerland set. I use the classic Pearl Eliminator Belt Drive Double-Pedal but am getting tired of it. I love the sound of your snare, what head and side head do you use? It's clear and marching band stylized.
remo ebony pinstripe but my drums are so cheap and crappy and old they just dont have a good sound anymore, except the bass durm sounds REALLY nice like studio quality with the emd 2 and emad resonant from evens
yeah, I have given up on remo. Sorry to say it but I hate the ebony pinstripes, they are purely for looks. I would suggest getting some evans EC1 or EC2 for your toms, and a genera dry (with the little holes and dampening ring on the inside) for your snare.
omg i still love this video its my favorite video on youtube!!:D
i 4 days i get a double bassdrum pedal to!:D and this video is a very very good video for me,, because i can learn so much from it!! Thank you thousend times:D
hey man, thats really good, especially your snare fills, theyre great, with your double pedal you should try some mike portnoy beats, they are fairly simple and sound really nice, i have a really short example of some on my site, i plan to put some more on later, but yea, check it out nd leave a comment if ya want
at 1:37 nice shift from traditional to matched grip and the experiment was ok nice done... nice double bass but the solo could i play with single bass pedal 3 stars
Im buying a Tama Iron Cobra Powergilde soon, really good pedals but can be pricey, so im probably gonna get it off eBay. What snare do you have, it has a really nice tight crack sound. I really like your snare work!
hey man, great playing. i have a set of iron cobras and im not liking them to much, i had a set of sonors b4 and they felt much better, im thinking of getting pearl eliminators, whats your take on pedals, what s the best option in your opinion
I have never used Eliminators, but they look like excellent pedals. All the better pedals have enough different adjustments that you can get them to sound and feel however you like. In the store, I thought the DW pedals were the easiest to play. The PDPs I bought for my electronic drums are excellent, and they were only $99.
I havn't played a pearl eliminator double but the singles are great. Lots of adjustment room and overall my only complaint is the same I have with every other pedal. The footboard is too damn small. 99% of drum pedals must be made for frikin kids (or I just have big feet)
That problem is easily remedied by removing the toe gaurd aand playing barefoot though. Overall a great pedal.
I switched from my Tama Iron Cobra over to the very inexpensive Pacific double pedal. It was on my electronic set. I find it to be a much easier to play pedal.
I started playing in the seventh grade (about 1975), and got my first drumset in about 1977. Only in the last dozen years or so have I gotten more serious about it.
your toms looks terrible
and sound terrible
but its better to have a drummer on a crap kit then a shitty drummer on a good kit
nice playing :)

why do you switch between matched and traditional grip? does it serve some purpose in sound? or just preference?
seitecerotrece 2 years ago
No purpose really. I was taught to play traditional, but can play better matched grip. Some stuff just feels better with the traditional grip.

u ever tried orchestrating some of the rudiments u are playing on the snare? you could have some cool grooves from some experimentation =)

damn dude you got hella rudiment. great job.
what pedals?
largepeople 4 years ago
why are you playing so softly? maybe its just me but my drums sound like crap when i hit them softly
FeelOfFriction 4 years ago
That is because you do not have good drums, or good drum heads. You don't always have to play 12 or 16 inches. Dynamics are are great thing.
BMoney107 4 years ago
i have a cheap but i have good heads and i have to hit them hard to get the full sound
FeelOfFriction 4 years ago
My kit gets great sound at high and low volume. What kind of heads do you have?

It's a 13" Tama hand-hammered, double-chromed piccolo snare. You can get that sound from almost any piccolo snare.

I went for some Pearl Eliminators. I love all the adjustable options. Yeah the double chain PDP wasn't too bad. Actually better than the DW7000.

get some rem O's
it keeps the toms from sounding so "George of the jungle" like

Yeah!!!! You are freakin amazing. The whole solo was great.
SpeedSticksStuart 4 years ago
Wow, nice hi-hat positioning. So the PDP pedal isn't to bad ej? I'm in desperate need of a double pedal with limited cash.
chloroxjello 4 years ago
If I had to go out and buy a new dbl pedal now, I would buy the PDP.
chief62 4 years ago
Hey chief im kinda new at drumming i have a yamaha rydeen set and im wonderin..... what type of pedal has the best sound and is really under 100$
killersrhere 4 years ago
I've never played a better dbl pedal than the Pacific (or PDP). You can pay a lot more, but I wouldn't...
chief62 4 years ago
you can always try doing that with one foot shure it wont be as fast but look at john bonham did with out a double bass pedal
rut18 4 years ago
