  • Dude - Great tone for just playing through a little practice amp!

  • what effect are you using?

  • @sousukepvd just a fender bullet practice amp. i'm using the gain channel with the gain knob around 3. thats it.

  • i want to learn this.. i want it so baaaaaad... its driving me mad its driving me mad.. its so... HARD.. HARD.. HARD.. (I only have acoustic)

  • well done, gave me a couple of ideas to play around with. The other covers Ive seen on here looked incredibly.... emotionless; have no idea how that can happen when covering this song... but .... on the other hand: top stuff man

  • nice tone!

  • sounds like ur playin both parts. usually george just plays simpler notes then that.

  • @Deadinagrave you're right. a lot of recordings are like that. overdubbing is king. since it's just a man and his guitar, it's important to have the core sound of the entire song happening.

this lesson is about playing the song and not just the guitar "part"

  • i like your guitar. firebirds are nice

  • cool. your wise beyond yer yearz. thanx

  • Awesome lesson; really helped me out alot

  • you are a duuuuuuuuuuuuude.

  • Really good lesson!

  • disgusting

  • Bravo.

  • chord at 1:17 please

  • @bailey12444 it's E7b9

  • nice.. just what i was looking for..

  • what chord is it in 1:18??

  • Oh my goodness...That was soo incredibly sexy :)

  • @Thursday196 ;-)

  • Dude LOVE your faces while you're playing! I can note that you play with real felling!

    greetings from argentina!!

  • Nice tutorial.

I can hear your having fun when you play.

    Good stuff.

    Peace.

    ^_^

  • @DJDrSciFi thanks ... i always have fun playing guitar :)

  • What is the chord you play at 0:55?

  • @nicklassayshi A minor 7th tab wise it's 5x555x

  • nice dude!

  • Haha, I was improvising this song one time! We play it almost exactly the same.. Cool! I notice that you also play the bass tabs, like at 1:19, which is maybe the greatest parts in the song.

  • @LiquidGold93 Isn't this in the key of A, not E?

  • @nicklassayshi Have I said that its in the key of E? Anyways, with improvising you can do whatever you want!

  • @nicklassayshi But Yes, this sounds more right in the key of A :-)

  • Not bad, but there's ONE wrong note that's bugging me. The 16th note of the intro (which you play at the end) should be an F, but I believe you play an open E. Unfortunately, that changes everything since you need another finger there. Just thought I'd let you know. Thanks for the video.

  • @BortPlate can you pinpoint the timestamp because i don't know what you mean by 16th note of the intro ? like 1,2,3,4,....th note of the intro chords (Dm/F6/E7/Bb7/A7)??

  • @jazzermonk Sorry, I'm not very good at explaining music theory. I was referring to the last note @ 5:47. I've been bridging the first three strings with the index finger to make it work.

  • @BortPlate well i'll be the shit between a donkey's toenail.... you're right. bravo bort!

  • i like how that sounds (face never matters, its just feeling)

  • :O

    o my fucking good

    how you dothat

  • lol why does everyone in these tutorials do faces XD is it that epic hard? to move on

  • @realderekbrothers i don't know what "to move on" means is your sentence but the faces thing is just how some people play. either you're a stoneface or a "make faces" guy. When i play my brain is basically off so i don't control what faces i make ... they usually reflect what i'm playing but it doesn't have to do with being hard.

  • @jazzermonk sorry i ment when you change the chord hand and i guess im stone faced XD jajajaja

  • nice job, thank you for the lesson!

  • Good playing, Thanks

  • ok... i thought it wasn't there... actually now there's three times... let's put a fourth one... THNX FOR SHARING

  • thnx for sharing!!! great job

  • tnx for sharing!!! great job

  • this guy is sick

  • WHY DON'T YOU PLAY IT WITH THE FEELING AND SUBTLETY THAT IT DESERVES, YOU JEFF!

  • @pvhtsh who's "you jeff"

  • Looks a little like Roger Waters XD

  • @Skrotnisse275 ha ... actually heard that before

  • that was fucking awesome

  • no tabs u.u

  • close....

  • Ahhh! You're amazing!

  • standard tuning or what?? Please respond quick i want to play this for a girl.

  • @dukenukem4lifeyo123 standard! go!

  • you are so good

    congratulations

  • hey jimmy you think you could make a video of Helter Skelter

  • thanks for the love ... hope everyone's rockin some Beatles!

  • YOU-ARE-AMAZING!! I'M STUNNED!! O_O I wanna play like you when I grow up haha :D

  • yeah !

    wicked !!

  • good friend , very good.

  • awsome jazzermonk simply awsome

  • that was just plain awesome. i noticed how like every time before you play you slide up the neck

  • @pokemonhack1 ha ... you're right ... i never notice it until i look back on video... i do it during performances too.

  • you know that the chromatic part at 1:20 is actually a bass part?

  • @MrLman34 yes i do... but since i'm playing by myself i don't have a bass player to play it for me.

  • you should change your title to (she's so heavy) by the Eric Gales band, because your version alot more like his!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (which I prefer over the beatles)sounds good!

  • amazing ur the best man

  • i like my way of playing it a little better. i start the first "i want you's" with a clean twangy sound and phrase around a little. i also lay off on the 4ths for that part. then when you switch to the next verse at :59, i switch my amp to the dirty channel, and then start adding 4ths to the "you" part. then switch to the first channel when it goes back to the first verse. it makes it sound WAY more blues styled. you should try it. mix it up a bit. good job btw :)

  • @jonahtran1 this is really just a tutorial on HOW to play it rather than a performance. thanks anyway.

  • you Rocks!

  • jesus calm down when u play guitar

  • 1. my name's jimmy, not jesus 2. no way

  • @soccersam1033 why calm down when your're this good at guitar!!

  • tits yeah!

  • thx a bunch dude, helped me a lot, still tweaking out various parts but this is overall a really nice video

  • thanx man. that helped out alot.

    100

  • Epicness!!!!!

  • what kind of distortion box... i'm using the gain on my little practice amp

.... to get that sound i would put all the eq flat (on 5 or middle) and start with the gain knob all the way down.... turn up the volume on you're guitar to the max and get a good level volume wise on your amp. Then start inching up the gain/distortion knob . That way it'll sound more like you're overdriving the amp rather than going through a pedal.

  • could u please help me out??

I bought my first new distortion, and I wanted to make it sound like yours.

I have already tried some settings, but i guess i am just a noob. could you tell me your settings? and those on your guitar? thx

  • this video kicks ass!!

  • nice playing

  • wow

  • @jazzermonk so true! i have heard people play really good but they still sucked because they didnt play what they feel.its all about feeling and soul.

  • your the best, I read the accurate tab and it there is no way, you need 3 guitars. I like this version, at least you play it.

  • @jabahut1 that's why tabs are bad for someone that just wants to play the song... my version is just a broken down "what can i play" version.

  • Dude that's freaking feeling you play so good!

  • @XDGerman thanks ... feeling it is the whole point! :)

  • thanks!! that help alot!!

  • what was that flat 9 eighteen seconds in?

  • yup.... if you look down at the comments i answer some questions ... that "weird" chord being one of them.

  • yeah men!!!!!!!!!

sorry but you have tabs or something?

  • tabs are a crutch that are usually wrong anyway... use your ears (they don't lie) ... start by hearing the lowest note and figuring out the chord movement ... you've got a youtube advantage (even if the eyes can play tricks on you)

NO TABS = BETTER EARS !!!

  • JAZZER!!!!that was a fantastic lesson..Thanks!! PINCELDADALI

  • that was a fantastic lesson..Thanks!!

  • im confused on 2:50 to 2:57 ;o

  • @iluvtwi you have to use your ear for this ... but its just on the G D and A string slide into the D string on the 7th fret .... then you use your first and third finger in alternating patterns ... its more confusing to explain it than it is to sound it out. Start where i just said then go from there... it goes higher than lower.

  • Very nice ! Thank you.

  • haha yeas indeed, buttt its just i need a little more explaining ... you know ;O

  • @iluvtwi : what are you confused about? I'll help.

  • you go to fast!!!!!

  • @iluvtwi that's what the pause button is for :)

  • awsome lesson how much was the firebird?

  • hey good lesson bt how did you learn how to play this?

  • i learned it by ear... the arrangement isn't the same as the recording ... i just broke it down to the main sections.

  • he looks like the young roger waters!!! cool!!! the floyds playing beatles...awesome!!!

  • i've actually heard that ONCE before .... good thing i like Floyd!

  • plus Roger was a huge Paul McCartney fan ... you can really hear in on one of the Piper at the Gates of Dawn album

  • I've been wanting to learn how to play this song for a very long time but just couldn't get it right, even after checking out countless tabs. I've by no means mastered it, but this video has been a huge help. Thanks man, that's a beautiful guitar too :)

  • i love the beatles and this song is great good job

  • Excellent demonstration of a great guitar song. Thanks a lot for helping us with this

  • thank you thank you

  • nice guitar sound

  • wow! good work.

I'm just learning chords. I can hardly get my fingers to go where they're supposed to go!

  • Great stuff -- thanks man!

  • Hey - that's smokey - I like it heaps.

    Cheers man - really helpful.

  • good man awsome!!!

    nice guitar by the way!!!!

    5/5

  • Excelent Man! Very very helpful! Thanks

  • Ahh yes VERY helpful sir thank-you! Awesome lesson I'm finally sorta 1/2 able to play this song I've been messing with for weeks..

Do you have a BLACKBIRD lesson? Lets try that one!

  • This was very helpful thanks.. A few questons..

3:05 you move up the 4th- wouldnt it be easier to play that melody starting on the 3rd string and not move up and used CAGED to find that equivanet chord there?

3:25 what would those 3 passing chords be? I think that would sound cool..

3:33 what chord IS "this chord"? I cant see the position/ Dm add 9? I just play Dm on the nut there, but yours sounds better..

5:20 that doesnt look like an E7 Im lost here

    5:30 lost me here

    Thanks dude !

  • thanks... the move up to the 4th is necessary because i'm using the 3rd and 2nd string for the melody (i didn't play it at 3:05 because i was demonstrating the melody note and not the melody/harmony part) at 3:25 i'm sure if you were to make those 3 notes power chords it would sound fuller ... but i usually just play the note

3:33 is an E7b9 chord ... on the 5,4,3,2 strings ... it would be the 7,6,7,6th fret

  • at 5:20 its an E7 chord without the bottom 2 strings ... so on the 4,3,2,1 strings it would be 2,1,3,0 fret

at 5:30 it's just a Bb7 to an A7 chord ... notice how i keep my fingers in the same position but just move it down a half step. hope that helps

  • awesome firebird!

  • very good

  • 5 stars for flippin' da bird

  • Yeah , great job on that lesson. 5 stars!

  • wow you are good !

  • lov ur axe man ^_^ ROCK ON!!!!!!!!

  • Thank you Jimmy, great help in particular that E9 look alike chord on the 6th fret.

  • awesome!

  • yeah, it's a newer one... still cool though

  • very nice

    is that a firebird?

  • fuckin brilliant man

  • cheers
