The old testament will always be law, but since none can attain the level of the law, the new testament is now the standard, by which all are forgiven though Christ. It was He who told us what defines a person, the words from the mouth. The abomination is denying Christ. God instructs the Israelites to treat them properly. God allows many things to happen in the world... storms, wars etc. Slavery exists because of sin in the world. Isaiah 11:12 is a simple reference to gathering people from all over. Read a little further to 40:22 "It is He who sits above the circle of the earth".

God says that if we repent, he is righteous to forgive us of our sins. There is a similar conflict with a women being childless after her husband’s death in Matt 22:23. @ClaudYeung Of all the sins, homosexuality just happens to be the one we are mostly discussing. All sin leads to death. You are correct that the bible is very clear about homosexuality. I would teach my children that Jesus is the only way to be forgiven of our sin, and escape death. Again it is not what you put into your body, (pork) but what you do and say that defines your heart. Of course they will get an education, I will just filter the correct things.

@ClaudYeung If my son decides to abstain from eating certain things to make himself pleasing to God, good for him. God gave us the rules about diet for our own good. Eating creatures that consume refuse is not the same as eating fruits and vegetables. We must have a proper balance of vitamins and nutrients. Diet is carefully laid out for us in the Bible, so we can be as healthy as possible in our short lives. Cancer and disease is rampant in todays society in part due to poor diet.

He's not "stuck" in the old testament. The old laws were still obeyed. Matt 5:18 says, "For assuredly, I say to you, till heaven & earth pass away, one jot or one tittle will by NO means pass from the law till all is fulfilled."

@ZelphKinderhook Don't forget verse 17 and 19. Jesus is saying that the law (old testament) is righteous, and that the law will always exist with the presence of sin. None of us are able to obey the law. One infraction means u / i have broken the law. Of course I have failed the law, but I have the blood of Christ to wash me clean (new law / new testament). The old covenant is superseded by the ultimate sacrifice of Christ, for the new covenant matt 26:28. Why did u put Christ behind?

It's not about gay rights. It's about equality and fairness for everyone and anyone regardless of your particular tag or label. LGBT do not have some special PRIVILEGE to change the meaning of marriage.

That's why MLK appeals to the Constitution and theological concepts of fairness and justice. What gay marriage advocates are asking for is a special privilege to CHANGE in the definition of marriage for EVERYONE so that they force legal and governmental inclusion of LGBT. That's like evangelicals changing the definition of "education" to mean religion has to be taught.
In the case of Loving vs Virginia the court ruled that 1 man 1 woman marriage is a right, and that it is unconstitutional for the government or any minority to redefine marriage to fit their relationship type.
But remember, there's more married gays in New England. ^_^ The west coast will just have to wait it out.
And honestly, not to get preachy, but this is what happens when people don't mobilize. I know plenty of gay men, women, and allies who sat back thinking Prop 8 was out the window, only to learn it passed with a measly 3% of the vote.
Agreed, personally I can't do all that much over here (I'm Australian) but I have seen a lot of people mobilizing in response to prop 8 passing. So there was some good out of this mess. That, and a federal level law suit by two of the most prominent constitutional lawyers in America. So... more good from that too.

God instructs the Israelites to treat them properly. God allows many things to happen in the world... storms, wars etc. Slavery exists because of sin in the world. Isaiah 11:12 is a simple reference to gathering people from all over. Read a little further to 40:22 "It is He who sits above the circle of the earth".

God says that if we repent, he is righteous to forgive us of our sins. There is a similar conflict with a women being childless after her husband’s death in Matt 22:23. I would not teach my children to sleep with anyone outside of marriage, and nothing is omitted.

I don’t have an issue with the age of the earth being less than 10,000 yrs, as science supports it. The fact that carbon 14 (radiometric dating) is not in equilibrium in the atmosphere points to a young earth. The amount of C-14 is still increasing. There are many more examples.

Our universe may or may not have been formed by the "Big Bang"... but that does not mean that humans evolved from a rock. The theory of evolution supposes that we evolved from bacteria.

@ClaudYeung Of all the sins, homosexuality just happens to be the one we are mostly discussing. All sin leads to death. You are correct that the bible is very clear about homosexuality. I would teach my children that Jesus is the only way to be forgiven of our sin, and escape death. Again it is not what you put into your body, (pork) but what you do and say that defines your heart. Of course they will get an education, I will just filter the correct things.

@ClaudYeung If my son decides to abstain from eating certain things to make himself pleasing to God, good for him. God gave us the rules about diet for our own good. Eating creatures that consume refuse is not the same as eating fruits and vegetables. We must have a proper balance of vitamins and nutrients. Diet is carefully laid out for us in the Bible, so we can be as healthy as possible in our short lives. Cancer and disease is rampant in todays society in part due to poor diet.

This was i the Old Testament. God changed his Law. There is something called the Final Judgement. Now, God lets us do whatever we want, but when the Final Judgement come thats when we will see.
And I meant that God was not in the Earth in the Old Testament like in the New testament as Jesus. What Moses saw was just a sign and he just heard his Voice, so did Noah he heard the Voice of God that does not mean he was in Earth.

That's why MLK appeals to the Constitution and theological concepts of fairness and justice. What gay marriage advocates are asking for is a special privilege to CHANGE in the definition of marriage for EVERYONE so that they force legal and governmental inclusion of LGBT. In the case of Loving vs Virginia the court ruled that 1 man 1 woman marriage is a right, and that it is unconstitutional for the government or any minority to redefine marriage to fit their relationship type.

I think a lot of those 18,000 fell that way....
But remember, there's more married gays in New England. ^_^ The west coast will just have to wait it out.
And honestly, not to get preachy, but this is what happens when people don't mobilize. I know plenty of gay men, women, and allies who sat back thinking Prop 8 was out the window, only to learn it passed with a measly 3% of the vote.
There are consequences to doing nothing.

Agreed, personally I can't do all that much over here (I'm Australian) but I have seen a lot of people mobilizing in response to prop 8 passing. So there was some good out of this mess. That, and a federal level law suit by two of the most prominent constitutional lawyers in America. So... more good from that too.
