For me George is a genious scarcely recognized as such. He's more than just the fifht Beatle.Sometimes he's the second or even the first.Thank you Mr.George.You deserve all the best.Thank you for all the work you did mainly with those Liverpool guys..
for decades, the product was sold that the beatles invented and innovated everything in rock/pop.
now we know that they were not alone- even the very modest G. Martin and the friend of Brian Wilson, P. McCartney are telling the world that there was The Beach Boys to beat.
Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!..I agree, the hours he put in, his orchestrations, his advice, the speeded-up piano on 'In My Life', and things we aren't even aware of...with apologies to about half a dozen others, Epstein, Preston, Best included, George Martin is 'Beatle Five'!
The sad part is there are geniuses like that today, there always is, but as usual the scumb*gs had to move in and put too much pressure on the money. Anyone who signs a record deal today is out of their mind.
In a way you're right. BUT...there has never been a better time to make music. You can buy a digital multitrack, a mic, an instrument, and within two weeks you can learn to use it and make a CD.
All I can say is this is why kids these days just copy riffs from old rock and roll stars. This era stars our era, was the best music ever created, never to be surpassed. Forget about the psychology. Thanks Brian
"All I can say is this is why kids these days just copy riffs from old rock and roll stars." listen man,its like saying why did the cats from the 60s copy mozart and beethovens progressions. Its because "great minds think alike". I dont know if youre a musician or not,but theres only 12 notes in western music, and beautiful music is beautiful, regardless of who "created it" first. I know what youre saying, but those "riffs" you speak of,go back a long long time, far before the 60s
@TileNut it probably has something to do with the title. People who found the footage were looking for George Martin. I do see your point though.

@jjust80 Good Point. I kept Brian's name off it for fear I'd be asked to remove it.

Wonderful, thank you.

George Martin was the man. The Beatles wouldn't be who they are without him.

Not only did he have little help, he had to fight his dad, the other band members and the record company.
Just imagine what might have resulted if Brian had some help with his musical vision (not just paid songwriters) and hadn't gone bonkers.

Brian Wilson was to the Beach Boys as George Martin, Paul McCartney AND John Lennon were to the Beatles!
