  • I see a normal city, a few nice cars and apartment buildings, which is not the mystery or the objective reason for this video.

  • This country is so desolate, don't North Korean know there are other colors than gray and other drab colors for their buildings? Must be too busy starving and building nukes XD

  • its so dull

  • Honestly, I think war between two Koreas will not end untill USA is expelled from this area forever.

For the fuck sake, Korea was one country, one same people and one same soul before USA divided those two countries primarily for USA's own interests and their showing off to Soviet Union. Damn USA is the most responsible "ingredient" for separation on ONE COUNTRY AND ONE PEOPLE.

Now, you may think whatever you want, but deep inside EVERY SMART Korean known the truth and their true enemy (USA).

  • @brox114 Retard.

  • @0wnedn00br0fl

Oh really, smartass?! I'm only being realistic.

Unfortunately, you are brainwashed by western media. Take your time and inform yourself about real situations and real world; not the one that western media (and Hollywood movies) are showing to the rest of the world.

  • @brox114 retard

  • @0wnedn00br0fl

Do you know to speak more than one word, "retard"?

Seems to me that you have big empty space in your head.

I recommend you primary school education to "boost" your speaking capabilities.

    Retard. Ha, ha, ha....

  • @brox114 tard

  • @0wnedn00br0fl

Primary school education is strongly recommended for every individual; especially for those that know only one word.

  • @brox114 ty

  • I love the traffic "jams", I think that is the only "good" thing that bloody communism brings

  • Comunnism = Totalitarism

Yes, North Korea is communist... Only communists says it's not because they are hypocrites.

  • North Korea is communist. Collective ownership of the means of production. No private ownership. Definition of communist. It is also a dictatorship but all communism needs strict government control to be implemented.

  • are you even allowed to record in NK??? i heard it`s strictly prohibited =/

  • Soviet Trams=) Whitered

  • I find it hard to believe there were that many cars. they would have just driven those past you to make it look like there were cars there

  • Its like New Your during a rush hour... 300 years ago.

  • on outdated machine tools from early 60's, where he will be needed in modern reunited capitalistic Korea? yes he wouldnt starve, cuz its unreal to starve in developed country, at least you can always find food in trash cans, but he wouldnt find job, he would absolutely rely on Wealthfare till the end of his days, and how to pay for this Wealthfare for apprx 15mln ppl will become the problem for ex-SK taxpayers.

  • If you are going in north korea is like tgoing back in the past!!!

  • Crime rate, 0%.

  • and what are they really thinking about their population. OK so NK has a large army which is mainly infantry anyway. That means they dont even have the strongest army. Not even close to US, Russian or Chinese armies. They only have roughly 23mil ppl. It would take one war in order to exterminate entire NK population. The dictator understands that as well. That's the main reason he hasn't really started any war yet. Although, he is retarted enough to start a war for whatever reason.

  • @MasterDieesel you know - the real reason why war isnt started yet it is fact that NOBODY (exept Japan m,b.) wants it, Russia and China dont want it cuz they dont want US military bases close to thier borders, South Korea dont whant it (and North BTW) beacuse they all learned lessons from reunification of Germany and USA dont want it cuz it would be rather expencive campaign and rather pointless BTW.

  • @TurboKR22 What's wrong with the reunification of Germany?

  • @EddieCubillo the problem was (and is) that Eastern Germany even if it was the richest and the most advanced part of Communist Block (so called 2nd World) was much more less advanced and developed than Western Germany. And this become a grat problem, even now, more than 20yrs after Wall felt down and after West invested more than trillion(!) Euro in East, Eastern part of Germany is still much poorer, less advanced, more criminalised ad more unemployed part of Germany .

  • @EddieCubillo for example (now) GDP of Eastern Germany is 30% lower than GDP of Western. And by the way difference in economic development beteen Eastern and Western Germany, when Wall felt was about 3-5 times, difference in economic development between North and South Korea is about 20 times, SK is 20 more advanced than NK if they would unite it would be disaster, even catastrophy for both sides.

  • @EddieCubillo one more problem is people mentality, people in North even think in different way. We had th same problem in ex-USSR, when it collapsed. imagine the average NK factory worker, he doesnt know that man walked on Moon, he doesnt know what Internet is, what cellphone is, what Banks are, credit cards, and so on, only thing that he knows is everything bout "Glorious Revolution" and history of "Great Leaders" family, the only skill, what he has is how to work on outdated

  • the only reason why you can't see any bums on the streets in NK is because they r simply being killed or brought to labor camps. The same thing was with Soviet Union and other communist blocks and countries. It's all propaganda. How much more cleaner we are than the west, how much more respectful we are to each other than the people in the west...all that crap that communists countries use. At least soviets were competing with the western world. I can't really understand NK. Just makes no sense.

  • gus u really went to pyongyang? wow hope u didnt died lol

  • looks like romania

  • Japan occupied the other countries.....in my opinion thats not an argument for the things NK is doing now. I know they did many atrocities to many chinese and korean people but Japan apologized for this. Its the same with Germany. Many countries are blaming Germany for their problems but Germany is a peaceful country and it paid a lot of money to USA, France, Poland, Israel...

NK is kidnapping innocent citizens just to get food and money from other countries.

PS: Sorry for this looong text =)

  • @DarthpatiLSS Just one thing if you dont mind. Japan has NEVER even come close to an apology to any single one of the countries it attacked. Never. It has never apologised to anyone and this really pisses, especially the Chinese, off.

  • @chanctonbury63 List of apologies:

    > 29 Sept 1972 Tanaka Kakuei

    >15 Aug 1995 Murayama Tomiichi

    > April 2005 Junichiro Koizumi

Probably there are more but these were the prime ministers of Japan in these times. Use Google if you still dont believe me.

  • looks a lot cleaner then NYC and other, And hardly any pollution, Course they let you see the best places, IN Thailand all they do is cart the tourists around to the temples,

Pedophiles make their own way via their networks,

  • hey dude were you really inside north korea???

  • "they only let you see the best areas." Oh, I get it.

Day 1. Today we will visit the great Kim Il Sung library.

Day 2. Today we will visit the great Kim Il Sung monument.

Day 3. Today we will visit the great hall of Kim Il Sung.

Day 4. Today we will visit the, "uuuhm, can I go home now?"

  • I was there in 1987

  • @Rasmuzzen How was it?

  • @AquarianWarKitten great experince...but you are not allowed to do anything or film it...tourist like me are just shown the good things, driving around in cars from coverment, being watched all the time

  • @Rasmuzzen you think youre not being watched in the west? pretty naive

  • @lunafringe10 I dint say that

  • Noob question: I heard that most of the buildings are empty inside. Why is this?

  • @CamelBallZee The wise leader has built for the future, He dont want no shanty towns like in SE Asia,

  • @CamelBallZee you dont see any tent cities or ppl sleeping under the bridges, like in America and Europe,

  • the streets are so clean because people don't have things that can be thrown away

  • schöne leer die Straßen Bikerrennen.. Da gibt noch Arbeitslager ...

  • schöne leer die Straßen Bikerrennen..

  • This video featured roughly 84% of all the cars in North Korea.

  • So beautiful and clean... well maybe because people can't afford to throw their trash on the streets

  • do you guys know the brand called Muji?? It's japanese household brand and the ceo of the company said that his companies product's ideas are actually from north korean street color and style, which is very clean, grey and plain.

  • Drab buildings? What pot were you smoking when you were filming this video?

Those buildings look better than what most Western cities have to offer in the smog and dust.

  • @Omithy obvious troll is obvious

  • @TheDemocratssuckdick Obvious troll? Me?

  • @Omithy wait your serious!?

  • @TheDemocratssuckdick I'm DPRK serious. YES!!! Those buildings we see are well kept, looks like they're well painted too. Streets are free of clutter, something that can't be said of Western cities.

    What else do you expect?

  • @Omithy but when i look out side at my street i dont see cluter ive been to citys like richmond and chicago and have seen little to know clutter and my house just recently got a nice paint job so you must kidding :)

  • @TheDemocratssuckdick Then you must be living in a good part of town, just like this part of Pyongyang that we see. I'm sure there's other parts of Pyongyang that don't look quite as good. The same goes for any other city in America or Europe.

Expect that American and European cities have more garbage, trash and clutter than Pyongyang.

  • @Omithy The Building are all gray, just like the way is used to be in the Countries of the Warsaw Pact.

  • @BigMDS67 Gray? Are you color blind?????

Where do you see gray buildings?? I see variations of yellow, white and orange buildings. The trams are red, blue and white.

But NOWHERE do I see gray.

  • Fuck you Kim Jong ill...stop showing tourist your desserted capital. Let them explore the true North Korea...how about a tour to the concentration camp???

Thousands of hungry working children, sad so sad. Only showcasing your dumb book collection, the library, museum, train station, schools, and hotel. How about showcasing the villagers, the peasants, the hardwrking children. Stop showing the first class fuckers of North Korea!! LOL

  • @22871987 -------How about showcasing the villagers, the peasants, the hardwrking children------->U can the good bad and ugly 'real' North Korean life if u can board the Moscow-Pyongyang railroad and talk to "normal" North Koreans (vs Govt). There r no guides to watch u so they'll be chatting more casually. U can use that train to travel domestic inside Russia but u'll b able to speak 2 North Koreans w/o a govt guide, if that what u looking 4.

Not "oppose" or "support" just answerin u r que.

  • North Korea isn't even communist. Its a simple dictatorship run by a mentally ill family clan.

  • @monkeyman1140 same thing

  • @monkeyman1140 that's the way it has to be ina communist country , fuck you

  • @monkeyman1140 And your a moron, makes perfect sense.

  • @monkeyman1140 All communist countries are dictatorships. There is a fine line between Socialist and Communist. Only Republican Democracy insures a free people. Just ask the Greeks and Romans.

  • @monkeyman1140 -SAME COULD BE APPLY TO CUBA - smart egoistic family claN ..of Castro billonares..

please dont bring embargo again ...:-(

  • north korea is a dictatorship with no human rights,in north korea there is somthing like 12 concentration cammps that contain 200 thousand of political prisioners,

north korea is a good exemple for not successful comunistic economy

this country is primitive and cruel like the period of stalinizem in soviet union

when milions of people where killed in camps

  • I love those steet diractan chicks at 00:9

    seriously

  • Comment removed

  • Oh, and then you wonder ,why they don't want to have you, Americans, in your country - every time you visit N. Korea, you start spreading your lies.Empty streets? Whats so wrong in empty streets?! Less crime, less car crashes. Almost no prostitution! But noooo - streets must be full because in the USA they are full!

  • Darn, not a single fast food joint on the strip. Gotta build some McDonald's. Sure, the people won't be able to afford it very often, but I have no doubt that Ronald McDonald played a role in the downfall of communism in the Soviet Union and China.

  • jak w PRL - miasto duchow...

  • the only good thing about NK is that there is almost absolutely no traffic

  • The guy who shot this video will be watched as a hero in USA.This idiot didn´t know that he could learn much more about North Korea by looking to NK through Google Heart than playing idiot in this way!

    Bye bye idiot hero!

  • I notice that there is a lot of horn tooting there, given that there is no traffic whatsoever. I guess the Chinese teach them how to drive.

  • it's quite clean.

  • Yup. To keep their subjects busy the regime is quite adept at assigning people work. Much time is spent on "voluntary work" like cleaning and freshening up the propaganda slogans, or rehearsing for the mass games or other displays. Shovelling snow off the massive motorways in wintertime is another pasttime, useless of course as the DPRK have next to no traffic.

If left to their own, the people might develop "counter-revolutionary ideas" and the regime don't want that.

  • @Theacorda sigh, this is NOT communism! this is socialist, there's a huge difference, look it up please.

  • Despite what the official propaganda would have you believe, the DPRK is not communist nor socialist. It is the most extreme example of military totalitarianism, the ultimate police state.

The DPRK call it Songun, or "Military First" policy.

  • @HB45175

every single communist or socialist political experience in history lead to such a regime: from stalin, to pol pot, castro, honecker, zhivkov, ho chi mihn, mao zedong and so on.... why?

  • @HB45175 it's called cult system in short

  • Korean people can have cars one think except elite, another is as i sais most of people

are not allowed to live in.

    Nothing strange about it.

  • Is a military state and like such can

only develop until ready for war.

Its a example of Hitler needs only time to make bombs

    and he will be powerfull.

Somebody should stop him quicly the only people who are allowed to live in PyongYang are the elites, the higher ups in the party and military, their families, and a very small percentage of people from the countryside who are brought in to serve those elites. Everywhere else is complete and utter poverty coupled with brutal repression.

  • rofl fail at all the north korean state employees posting comments on youtube about how "usa should fuck off" and what not

  • I see a lot of hatred here. I think the person who posted this was just trying to share some information.

  • Gotta admit, the city looks awesome and the way the streets look. Loved to live in a city like this , but only if its actually "live-able".

  • Such a clean city..

  • eterno feriado em Pyongyang

  • AS IF we see the slums or the homeless people or people in american propaganda

  • There's no pedstrians on the streets because they're all in labor camps!

  • @CincinnatiGifts what an idiotic comment!

  • @CincinnatiGifts And in the US and Europe there are so many in the streets because of unemployment

  • its better than council flats in britain.

at least you dont have chavs knifing you at every street corner.

  • täytyy sanoa että mielenkiintoinen paikka on

  • its safe to cross the streets though

  • that country is full of pussies

  • Stress-free driving...

  • Interesting stuff! Gus, I assume you're not American (when I last checked, U.S. citizens weren't allowed there)? Were you there on business, or just to see the country? How many guides did you have?

Sorry for all the questions, I'm just interested. :)

I'd love to go personally, but the 3,000 pounds it would cost has prevented me.

  • Sorry, i can't be a 'sheeple'...the streets look fresh and clean, the people neatly, modestly dressed and the buildings refreshingly free of garish, repetitive billboards saying "Buy,Buy Buy" over and over again!THERE!.. i said it!!...I guess i'll go wait outside for the FBI to come get me now.

  • You would rather have brutal, cult-based fascism than billboards?!?! Your a fucking retard..

Do he world a favor and shot yourself in the fucking head.

  • Your ethnocentric comment is totally unbecoming .And as the demographics change in the USA & the USA empire comes to an end,it will be more likely your type that ends in suicide.

  • This has nothing to do with ethnocentricy.

Its a fascist state retard. Most north koreans are in fucking labor camps in rural areas (why do you this the city look so empty and "clean")

Bash America all you want. But if you think disliking America is a reason to support fascists, your just a piece of shit.

Go move to the DPRK, see what happens when you try to voice an unpopular opinion there, and then tell me how superior it is.

Their version of the FBI REALLY will come after you. Literally.

  • I'm not 'bashing' 'America'.I'm confronting YOU,with your backwoods right wing stereotypical ethnocentric anticommunist idiocy.

  • First of all asshole, I'm a left-winger. Also, I'm not anti-communist. (I have respect for people like Trotsky)

What I have a problem with is simple minded idiots who think anyone who is an opponent to the US or Capitalism is automatically a good guy. Are you gonna defend Stalin next? How about Hitler? (He was an opponent to the "American Empire")

This isn't about left-wing/right-wing. This isn't even about communism. Its about you defending a vicious fascism. Learn the difference idiot.

  • Yeah u 'really looovve 'Trotsky'!..yeah.Lets see.. he's LONG dead & neither he nor any of his his many schismatic & often cultish followers never accomplished 'Jack sh*t' for ANYbody,anywhere...But,O,i forgot..that IS what you 'like' about him after all.

  • O i've heard it ALL b4.You remind me of all the bigoted, ethnocentric, arm chair phony 'revolutionaries'

  • who are willing to fight for social justice to the last drop of someone else's(preferably a suitable 'heroic' ethnic or racial minority's)Blood.

  • So,o boo-hoo,save it and share it with someone who's entertained by your hypocrisy.'Cause ,honey ,it sure aint me

  • You honestly think a country that has forced labor camps has "social justice"?

you don't support social justice, you fucking hypocrite.

"FUCK THOSE PEOPLE IN THE LABOR CAMPS, I'M TOO BUSY TRYING LOOKING ENLIGHTENED IN COZY AMERICA!!!!"

    THAT'S YOUR FUCKING POSITION, WHORE!!

your the armchair revolutionary. And a supporter of fascism. fuck you.

  • Typical ignorant and socially detached USA idiot.ALL countries, depending on circumstances, have the equivalent of 'labor camps'.But you'll look past the ones nearest you cause #1,there full of people u don't like(except for casual & dismissive sex)& #2,since they ARE close by,if you don't want to be PROVED the hypocrite that u are,u just might have to DO something about them. But of course, you wouldn't want to do that!Why... u might miss the last episode of your favorite soap opera! The horror!

  • First, your over reliance on rhetoric and stereo types just goes to show you how un-enlightened you are.

SECONDLY, you don't know me or any volunteer work I've done, whore.

SORRY BITCH, everyone who disagrees with you ISN'T a racist, greedy redneck that you hope we are.

Lastly, lets look at South vs North Korea, shall we? Is that comparable enough of cultures?

There is poor people in South Korea, no doubt about it. How many are tortured? How many get shot for speaking their mind? idiot.

  • Well, silly phony 'activist' person,if people in S.Korea speak out in support of Kim Jong Il,they very much run the risk of 'being shot'.Its againt the law there to do,genius.

  • Next,STOP trying to 'generalize' my comments directed to YOU.

  • No, not 'all' people who 'disagree with 'me' are racist rednecks, but comparatively 'rich' well off folks who like to make fun of places, circumstances & conditions they consider '3rd world' usually are

  • And phony, white undercover Klan members posing as liberal or 'leftist' are the WORST offenders,i've found.

  • it is really remind me the 80 years Bucharest-silence,fear but anyway something unforghetable.

  • apart from it being empty and ruled under dictatorship it does not look any creeppier than the inner cities of america

  • You're right, it looks about as crappy as the crappiest parts of down-turned downtowns in America. Only, this is the NICEST they have to show off there. Imagine if every part of every city in a western country looked like this or worse.

  • ...or the United Kingdom.

  • looks like Warsaw... except the amout of cars and billboards

  • okay it cannot look that bad are you serious? lol

  • i don't like it...like living in the 50's...

  • No shops at all!

  • There are shops, they just aren't advertised as heavily as in the west. Most trading takes place in markets called Jangmadang anyways.

  • no traffic accidents in NK

  • All the cars are pretty much the same, also a privilege to drive.

  • they didn't know i was taping, you are not allowed to take photos or videos unless approved...

  • uhm...and what happen if they see you are takink videos?...

  • @GusB1 Wow, that's risky.

  • @GusB1 they let you come with video cameras in North Korea? I thought they prohibit cameras and etc at the airport

  • I thought the North Korean government didn't allow any video in North Korea? Or they simply did not know you are taping?

  • sometimes they do allow taping.

  • Was there like a VW on the street? The new version?

  • Its amazing that there are no people on the streets it is kind of scary too.

  • Like China but tidier

  • are u kidding me... china is so not like north korea. the differences r overwhelming. u wont get shot going to china and china is as capitalistic as the US.

  • You won't get shot going to North Korea, how do you think the tourists get in?

  • @tokyodriftguy256 to normal western citizens like myself, China is almost as scary. We do not live in totalitarian societies like you do. I understand it is like night and day between North Korea and China. Please realize that from our perspective, your two countries are on an entirely different planet. You cannot compare the experience of freeborn western citizens with the abject slaves of some of the most terrible regimes in recorded history. China killed 30 million. Its another planet.

  • @VeritasTruthEmet oh yeah and how many innocent people has your country killed by trying to give "freedom" to countries such as vietnam, north korea, etc? FUCK USA. LONG LIVE DPRK!

  • @xXPowerMexicoXx I'm Canadian, not American. Do you feel stupid yet?

  • @VeritasTruthEmet canada is usas bitch

  • @xXPowerMexicoXx DPRK won't live any longer because they are out of food ! Haha poor North Korean population....

  • @DarthpatiLSS even in the US ppl are starving, And a lot of other places as well, Not just NK,

  • @lunafringe10 Well, but I dont feel bad for NK because everytime I go back to Japan I see many people who were kidnapped by NK. I know not everybody is bad in NK but if you watch the news and innocent people are caught by the NK government you start to hate this country

  • @DarthpatiLSS Dont forget how Japan behaved when they occupied Korea for 47 years, They behaved like pigs anywhere they went, So maybe the NK secret service dont feel so bad about kidnapping them, Its just not fair to always point ones finger at NK. When the rest of the world has enough problems, I didnt see any street kids, Europe is full with street kids, And poverty rages, Lets get things into perspective, And if the americans wouldnt always sanction countries then it would look a lot better

  • @tokyodriftguy256

oh yeah absolutely bud~~~ BCOZ Chinks wanna suck deeper inside Yanks' assholes, mannn as they do IN REALITY... C what I mean????????

  • wow, this is so interesting.

No one drives in the capital city...

  • yea i think it was a vw passat, cool!

  • i can`t belive it....was that a vw passat?when did they get to ride that car?

  • Thats amazing, notice just a few cars passing during the bus journey.. Capital city with no traffic jams ;)

  • I know Patrik08, makes you wonder where the hell they really are. But I'm sure we both can make a VERY GOOD GUESS. Busy dying of starvation (if not dead already), or workin' their asses off for the "God" in some labour camp. THIS IS JUST DISPLAY for outsiders. That is why foreigners are allowed to see ONLY "CHOSEN" areas and not allowed to film there.

  • Interesting!
