Dunno if I haven't been paying attention the gazillion plus times I've heard Violator, but the fact is that other than the atmospheric synth intro which is repeated a couple of times afterwards and the wallowing effect underneath the guitar riff, I really don't notice any difference between the Singles album version and the Violator one.
