I have a question... I have fers growing beside my house, well-known as "fiddleheads" they are amazing to eat with butter, would it be a good idea to feed them to my iguana in the future?

  • I have a little problem with my baby iguana. He is a pet store rescue, he was thin and dehydrated. I fed him right to his mouth to be sure he ate well. He's now very healthy and active. Now, (I've had him for 3 weeks, he must be 3 months old) he doesn't want to eat by himself! I'm sure he can learn to do it, I just don't know how to get him to. A friend told me to leave him the food and that he'll eat whenever he wants to. But, I'm worried that he won't and that he'll starve! What can I do?

  • Im going to get a juviniel iguana and was wondering how much it will it cost to get everything it needs except for a tank. I already have the tank and want my ig to grow up healthy and happy!

  • nice video! i wanted to know for hatchlings should i cook the harder veggies like squash or the sweet potato so it wil be softer for him to chew? please respond! thanks!

  • my calcium has phaspate... y is that bad??? and shud i change my calcium?

  • "cactus leaves.. without the thorns,", lol!!!

  • Man, seems like these iggys eat better than I do! Then again, I am a student

  • @PSPcracks most sold in stores are about 3 to 6 months old, look for bright color birght eyes and fat healthy igs they still need a fecal test at a vet when u get one they can have worms so test right away and always wash ur hands after holding

  • hey man whats the best way for me to pick up my baby iguana

  • @jamesdelaney1989 just go slow, make sure they have a hidebox to hide and sleep in, then before u do anything look them in the eye dont stare thats a threat but when they look back close your eyes, open & close them 3 to 4 times in a row this says your relaxed so they should be too do this everytime before u do anything with them then try to pick him up if he freaks out do the eye thing again he will start to calm down it takes weeks to months to gain their trust

  • iguana society is the best! TY!!!

  • @agrippaviar yea i read all sites u never know where a good idea or info will come from the hard thing is making sure its good info, some of my long term volunteers help there too with questions

  • Hey Mr Binty1440, loving the videos man, alot of help lol.

  • @br0productions Thanks :) hope to have more soon

  • This guy needs a slap chop!

  • @justaddsleep hahaha

  • hey what is the stuff that you put on their food to help them digest and get rid of salmonella? thanks

  • @pwalsh1051 its a probiotic, u can get it at reptileuv, com we have saved many sick reptiles with it over the years with the megaray uvb lighting too

  • I don't really agree with having to tear up food into small pieces.. No one does this for them in the wild, right? I mean, for a VERY small iggy, sure.. but, once they're a month or two of age, they have the ability to start tearing/ripping thier food apart.

  • @Trav4011 but in the wild the leaves are still attached to the plants to help them bite off pieces, plus we've found parasites in stems and the stems can hurt their gums cause their teeth are so short even as adults so its just i like to give mine the best and making up their food fresh everyday is cause i love them so much, i do anything i can to keep from having any problems start that could lead to vet care, cutting greens with a metal knife also makes them taste bitter so a tare them instead

  • @MrBinty1440 what kind of knives should i use because you said metal knifes are bad ofr iguanas?

  • @MrBinty1440 My young iggy actually stands on whatever he's eating, and tears pieces off. I do this with Kale, and Mustard greens. I DO cut up Collard greens and Turnip greens, because they are a little bit tougher to tear.

  • @MrBinty1440 Hi mrbinty could you tell me exactly which uvb light you would use for a 3-4 year old iguana. one form that site you mentioned would be great. thx.

  • @Trav4011 yes ive seen stock footage of a baby green iguana eating in the wild and it takes bits smaller thank the keys on my keyboard.

  • @Trav4011

Let's be realistic, they're not in the wild. Might as well not give them any veterinary care while you're at it because they don't have vets in the wild.

  • My green iguana doesn't eat as much salad if I don't mix in the usual hard veggies! He loves parsnips and winter squash, which I grate both of them for him almost everyday. Occasionally, I put carrots and sweet potatoes. Yep, He doesn't like to eat plain green anymore. He's very muscular feeding on the parsnips. He loves parsnips and winter squash!

  • @Paradon yea they like a wide variety of foods and i use 3 to 7 types of greens a day, 3 to 5 type of veggies and 1 type of fruit a day, 60% greens, 30% veggies 10% fruit including treats like wheat bread, pasta :)

  • i caught one

  • Could you just use a food processor to chop it up?

  • i recently got a baby iguana, i had him home for a week now and he still is very jumpy and doesnt wana be touched at all. what should i do for him to over come the fear of me ?

  • Is it a must to give iguanas calcium? This is my first time to rare one. So yea.

  • hi just wondering is are iguanas allowed baby sweet romaine lettuce check out my baby red iguana had him for 5 days now

  • en español .que le puedo dar a la mia es bebe muchas gracias

  • good information but dang, that is alot of food they can eat.

  • @fruitpunch4890 yep! my 1yo eats a whole plate of food in a day like an adult but my adult igs can eat up to 3 dinner plates of food a day when growing! takes alot of food to grow 6 feet specially when you dont eat meat

  • Does it hurt the iguana if you touch the "third eye" on it's head? i'd imagine that it does.

  • @supercooldude64 nah its more of a sensor then an eye now but yea you can touch it but i'm sure if something ruff hit it it would hurt

  • help! my iguana doesn't want to eat?

  • @adryangel if ur ig is not warm enuff it can't digest food you need to make sure its around 98 degrees in the basking spot then make sure your using the right foods, they also need a hidebox to hide and sleep in to relax as a new ig they are afraid to eat someone elses food so make sure its set up right then leave the ig alone for afew days just to feed and check on it so it can adjust, let me know what ur set up is

  • where do you get 'Veggie Wash' (and by the way i love all of your videos. MUCH respect!) Also love how ou have time for everyone. VEERY cool!

  • @monkeymikey83 goto tryfit, com and look up a store in your area or you can order it online, theres other brands but they leave a lemon scent on foods the igs dont like it but the FIT brand doesn't leave anything but clean food i started using it when my 2nd ig Babygirl got cancer all of a sudden and my vet couldn't save her so now i wash all pestisides of their food before i make up their food just to be safe :)

  • hey io want to know if u have any tips on how to keep ur ig alive over 6 months please help me as soon as possible i want to take real good care of my first ig

  • @iguanalover97 yea you'll needs to watch my videos on caring for them also you'll need to learn even more at sites like greenigsociety, org & anapsid, org for general care info but for reptile lighting info goto uvguide,co,uk & reptileuv, com also join babyiguana & advanced iguana care both on yahoo groups cause you'll need to get the diet, temps, lighting right and babies should have a fecal check for worms & be checked for MBD

  • were did you get it!?!?

  • @riveraak47 get what?

  • Very Nice! love it. I really appreciate how you listed the percentage of the Diet and the greens, veggies. ^_^ I'm definatly rating this video a "like" for sure. keep up the good work!

  • @jibbs2222 Thanks, i'm always trying to come out with new videos i'm hoping to go HD and make alot more care videos :)

  • amazingly helpful, i subscribed.

  • @rugbylife4 Thanks :)

  • @dementegg and remember that there not in the wild O.o

  • you dont really have to cut them really small. remember when they live in the wild they dont have anybody to cut their food.

  • @dementegg uh huh and remember in the wild the leaves they eat are still attached to plants so they can pull off small pieces the size of their mouth....

  • @dementegg lol your a dumbass

  • thanks!

  • man i hav the big iguanas like the size of the ones in the other video Feeding adult Iguanas

  • 0:15 get a slap chop they are awsome! lol

  • do they eat alot a day

  • how much is a megaray now?

  • still like $47 for the 100 watt SB and still $85 for the 60 watt EB that lasts twice as long they still sell them at almost wholesale instead of marking them up 300% like the other companies bulbs

  • dude your videos are really helpful...i don't really got an iguana, cuz my mom don't like lizards='( but i love to watch yours vids anyway =D

  • hey Thanks, glad u like to watch them i've got 90 so far and i'm always making new ones and i just took in a baby ig rescue with alot of problems so i'll be making some new care and training videos soon for babies and i made another woody update alot of people like my foster ig woody, have u seen woodys urate stone and aggression video? or the adult feeding video? woodys a nut! or watch godzilla chase me and bite holes in my camera in the rescues and mating season problems videos 1-6

  • Amazing vid!!!

  • Thank you :) check out my adult feeding video too lol

  • so how do i feed godzilla without sacraficing my entire village, better be safe than sorry lol................LOL

  • very carefully lol

  • nice vid, definately subscribing, thinking bout gettin iguana, already have a uromastyx. i hadd a question though, what was that supplement u put in to help digest and gets rid of salmenela? and where do you get it?

  • its called Nutribac DF and you can order it from reptileuv, com while there check out their uvb lights they are the best in the world and they also sell uvb meters and other stuff to keep reptiles more healthy

  • sure if you goto greenigsociety, org & anapsid, org theres food lists of things you may be able to find to use there, you can also feed them alittle cooked pasta, rice & real wheat bread, also check out uvguide,co,uk to learn about reptile lighting the owner lives in the UK & could also tell u what she feeds hers & reptileuv, com they sell Nutribac DF to digest better to get the most out of their food, gets rid of salmonella & they sell the best uvb light, suppliments, uv meters, temp gun

  • also if you goto reptileuv, com click on Products then scroll down theres a link to the UK website the owner could also help u with food info & help you order lights and sluppies. also on the greenigsociety site theres a food chart u can print out it tells whats good & bad in each food & a little lettuce is not bad some have alot of calcium in them its just they can become hooked on lettuce & not want to eat other greens then thats a problem but just added in once in a while its ok

  • hey is enive good for them to use all the time ?

whats the best green for them to eat all the time

and im having trouble keeping my foods fresh do u have any advice on how to keep them fresh

  • not all the time cause its still a knid of lettuce, usually collards, mustard, turnip are all kinda easy to find and can be used most of the time, dandelion are great if u can find them at the store they are great for their kidneys too, check out the food chart at greenigsociety, org print it out to take with u it shows & tells which u can use alot of, try & use 60% greens, 30% veggies & 10% fruit with alittle cooked pasta, rice or real wheat bread once in a while as a treat

  • i find the slap and chop very usefull cause it can chop up the food to very little bits i use it for sweet potatoes

  • lol hey whatever works :)

  • i think your an excellent person, and god will be very happy with what you have done.

  • Thank you :)

  • hey MrBinty. i jus got a new baby iguana and hes not eating his food? is it maybe because i jus got him and hes trying to get use to his new home? and plus whenever i go to pick him he doesnt fight or try to get away he jus sits there and lets me pick him up. is that normal?

  • Hey Mrbinty, This morning I found out that my baby iguana has small brown crusty patches on his body. Which is probably skin infection. What should i do? Right now, i m gave him some oil medicine 100% natural which hopefully will work.

  • well it could be he is trying to shed so afew baths everyday may help, it could be a skin infection but if so then he is really sick and has a low immune system so vet care is needed, if u can get him outside in warm full sunshine would help the uv light helps kill stuff on their skin but he may need silvadine cream on his skin & maybe antibiotics in his system so a vet trip would be a good idea, skin infections need to be treated aggressively or the ig will die

  • so how long is it MrBinty im kinda conserened do you know or not about the previous question

  • nbythe way your mirror breaking vid is halarious i love that iguana he looks so happy

  • Thanks, he was my first ig Godzilla

  • hey you seem to know what your doing so i had a question how long does it take before an iguana runs up to the food dish to eat ive never seen mine eat but i notice after like 5 to 6hrs later there is some food missing. he is almost a year old and like a said seems to have no interest in food when i put it in his cage if you could give me any answer id be most grateful

  • well when new igs are scared so you need to give them a hidebox to hide & sleep in & take away stress, when in a new place they worry about eating anothers food cause in the wild if u do u can be attacked for it so if can take weeks for them to eat in front of you, some sooner then others cause all igs are different, try hand feeding him outside the cage & warm baths show him its ok they need to be socialized alot so u need to be patient with them & make sure the diet is right

  • also u can look them in the eye be the second they look back close your eyes then slowly open and close your eyes 3 or 4 times in a row when him watching its a way of telling them your relaxed so they should be too cause if you just stare in their eyes its a threat

  • Hey Mrbinty, you mind checking my video? it s my baby iguana which i think may have skin infection or shedding problems. i need your opinion. thanks

  • ur not suppose to cut baby iguana's nails right?

  • no you can it just harder cause you can cut them back too far and hurt them you just cut the very tip off and really have to look good to see how far down the blood goes into the nail so you dont cut too deep, check out my cutting claws video it shows how

  • Speaking of UVB lights, does it need a specific ballast for it to work or does a normal ballast works just fine?

  • well the megaray 60 watt uvb light is an externally ballasted light so theres no starter filiment inside the bulb to break so it can last 18 to 30 months but after 18 it should be checked with a uvb meter for output, the 100 watt megaray SB uvb light has a starter filiment inside so its just a bulb & can last up to 18 months but if bumped too much it can break the filiment then the bulb can't start up it but does have a 10 month warranty both output the same uvb

  • the EB bulb costs more but when it does need to be replaced the replacment bulb costs less then the 100 watt SB bulb and this bulb last 2 to 3 times longer u just reuse the ballast box it comes with & the box has a long warranty too. both bulbs should be about 18 inches from the back of the lizard in his basking spot not from the basking spot itself to the bulb

  • Hello mrbinty. a friend is giving out a baby iguana but it has bits of skin unshed due to lack of moisture. He is looking healthy though. but i m just worried whether it might affect his health. please reply thank you.

  • it can so try to give him a nice warm bath afew times a day to help & make sure he has water & knows where it is plus for the skin to work right they need a great uvb light but the ones sold in pet stores are very poor quality so if you can order him a megaray uvb light from reptileuv, com they are the best u can buy & the owner makes them casue he loves reptiles more then money so get the 60 watt if you can afford it will last about 18-24 months if low on money get the 100 watt lasts 12-18 month

  • I did it. It worked. the Skin are shedding and he is doing fine now. Currently i do not owned any UVB light nor a heat lamp and use real sunlight as a temporary UVB source. i might as well order UVB lighting from the site. Thanks for the recommendation. I will post a video regarding my baby iguana anytime soon.

  • I have and iguana that i got from a local pet shop thats about a foot long. I was wondering roughly how old it is. at some point ican post a video for better reference if its needed. btw love the vids working on getting a megaray light halfway there.

  • hi, well it can be hard to say cause we dont know how long it was in the store cause they dont get uvb while in shippment or at the store so it can slow their growth down until they get either out in full sunshine or grea uvb lighting but usually pet stores sell igs that are 3 to 6 months old. your ig will love it when you can get him/her a megaray it will keep ur ig healthy but also u should get a fecal check done at a reptile vet most baby igs come with worms & parasites

  • is this also available for juvenile 1 1/2 year old iguana?

  • i have an adult iguana feeding video too but its mainly the same thing they need a big variety of fresh greens, veggies & fruit to eat everyday it just you have to tear it up smaller for younger igs so the food is thin & always less wide then the space between their eyes looking down on top of their head so they wont choke on food, check out my baby habitat, lighting videos & you can give them nutribac df to help digest better & gets rid of salmonella in them too

  • yes thank you, i already knew this tho, i was just asking if i do the same thing for a juvenile or i do the adult...

  • u do the same for both the foods just can be bigger pieces as the ig gets bigger

  • what are the ingredients for a good every day diet for baby iguanas

  • the same in this video only made smaller

  • thank you..

  • your information has been really helpful and i only have one question what times should i feed my iguana

  • its best to try and feed them in the morning around 10am so they can eat and digest during midday and maybe eat some more after noon and digest more in the early evening before they goto sleep around sundown, babys will eat several times all day long while adults ususally like to eat once or twice during the day

  • hi there...want to ask .will the baby iguana claw grow back?

  • sometimes they will it depends on how how far back it was damaged so keep it clean u can put some corn starch on it to stop the bleeding and then later clean it and put some neosporan on it while it heals, its hard to say if it will grow back you just have to wait and see but they can

  • what do u feed it

  • And something else...i recently added to my tank a new uv compact bulb..uv compact bulb says to operates than it has got 30-50cm effect...I fited the bulb in the center and vertical to the floor...on this place the distance between bulb and floor is 17-20 cm...is it dangerous for cancer or something...?

  • ahh ok that could be one of the main problems is compact fluorescent uvb lights are horrible they have been blinding reptiles & making life hard for them as they are all made in china with 0 quality control but also another major problem with them is that different fixtures can affect their output hugely without a UVB & UVI meter to test that bulb it could be very unsafe, they have been known to put out very low wavelenght uvb thats bad & unaturally high uv indexs up to 20 or 30!

  • natural sun puts out a max uv index of 10 so now you can see why with a uvi of 20 or more it can blind them plus they are too dim igs need about 70,000 to 150,000 lux thru out the day to boost their immune system, take a look at the megaray uvb & combo lighting at reptileuv, com & u can read more on dangerous lighting at uvguide,co,uk they test all reptile lighting they can & do not accept money for this its their volunteer work & they have a lab to do this correctly

  • I have a baby iguana for 3 months now so its age must be from 5-7 months...Although iuts length is 11cm (from head to base of tail)..this length cross to 3 months age iguanas...so i was wondering if it has got worms...So im thinking to give him Yomesan or Bothidrum to the right quantity of caurse...if it doesnt have worms is it dangerous??or medicine will not kill him anyway?

  • well its best of you can take a fecal simple to a vet so they can run afew tests on it to look for different parasites cause depending on what he may have & his weight that will determin what meds are needed to clear it up if thats what the problem is & not temps or lack of proper lighting as all reptile lighting sold in pet stores are total junk now a days, the worming type meds upset their eating usually so if he doesn't have any & u still give the meds it might cause him to lose more weight

  • also you should consider buying some Nutribac DF its a probiotic that helps them digest as well as wild igs and also gets rid of salmonella you can buy it at reptileuv, com they do reptile rescue and rehab so they care more for the animals then making huge profits so they wont sell anything that doesn't work or could hurt a reptile, good people!

  • thank u for the help

  • hey with the beat greens is it ok to feed them a little bit of the beat itself?

  • sure once in a while long as its cut thin

  • thanks ill try it out

  • my iguana only eats letuce for soem reason we gave it green beans and alot of more stuuf apropiate for him of corse we reasearch it lol but do you have any sugestions

  • yea they get hooked on lettuce what you have to do is slowly add in dark greens like collard, mustard, turnip, dandelion, hibiscus & use less lettuce over a few weeks, they need about 60% greens, 30% veggies & 10% fruit, you have to read more on how to make up their diet you can't use just anything or the same thing all the time. read more at anapsid, org & the greenigsociety, org foodchart also u need a megaray uvb light its the best at reptileuv, com

  • Hi, great video, very helpful...thank you :)

  • Thanks, i hope it helps but its just a start you'll still need to read alot more on how to get their diet right u can read more at anapsid, org and greeniguanasociety, org but for proper reptile lighting watch my lighting & habitat videos & read more at reptileuv, com & uvguide,co,uk :)

  • I have an iguana... about 4-5 months in a 10 gallon tank with a food and water dish and a hammok for him to sun on. i have just a dome light bulb and i feed it: grapes, banana, apple, strawberry and other fruits and some lettuce. Can u please halp me remodel his/her life to make my baby iguana the happiest baby ever. im afraid i did something wrong.

Oh! and how do i know if it is a boy or girl? And where should i go to get him any meds he needs. Please, Holydunk521 and Diablo the iguana

  • well u needed to start out with a 55 to 65 gal tank & the diet your using is not healthy they need much more, & u can't use just any light & lights sold in pet stores are really cheap junk check out my baby habitat, small habitat lighting, telling a male from a female ig, & the reptileuv videos i have they sell the only lights & meters i use for mine. you also should read up on anapsid, org & greeniguanasociety, org & reptileuv, com & uvguide,co,uk u should also have ur ig checked by a reptile vet

  • Thank you very much. I got him a whole new cage, and am feeding him a whole new diet: Base-leafy greens, 2 or 3 veggies, and 1 fruit. He is running around and looks more healthy. He is taking healthier poos and loves to be held. Thanks again MrBinty1440 for all your help =)

  • your welcome!

  • Update: I now put my ig next to a window and gave him a heat rock. I also mist his cage to keep him shadding good (or so I read) and i cant afford a 60 gal tank =( i had no idea it was this expensive. But, after my previous comment 2 mos ago, i have made improvements, although i cannot find a vet that knows about reptiles... SO, after all of it, you and others have been much help to me and my happy ig, thanks so much, and if theres anything i can do better, please reply. Till then, cya :D

  • check ebay & craigslist for a used tank, its better to use a basking light then a heatrock cause they will lay on them till they get burned, yea igs are very expensive to own about $1500 a year, check anapsid, org for a vet listing & petfinder, com for a reptile rescue near u they will know a vet & most of all save up & get a megaray uvb light for him from reptileuv, com i know your doing more to make him happy & healthy so keep it up :)

  • Well i got a prob with vets...I leave in shire and there is no vet here that he knows about reptiles and iguanas particular...I have to travel about 2.5 hours to go to the capital where there are vets they know about reptiles...So what can i do to be sure that my iggy is ok?Is there any way i can check my iggy for worms alone?or to kill them by giving it a medicine precaution?a medicine that will kill worms if there are and will not damage my baby iguana..

  • well have a local vet whos willing to work with a reptile vet over the phone to ask what they need to do and look for, my vet does this to make sure to have a couple opinions on tests

  • but i have sun-glo and heat-glo for him in his terra. and thanks for replying :D

  • yea the exoterra lights are not good their compact fluorescent uvb lights have been blinding reptiles but dont take my word for it read up more at uvguide,co,uk they test lights for free and report on them its part of their volunteer work also u can join the uvb_meter_owners group on yahoo for more info on testing, u should think about switching over to megaray combo lighting its the best and safest u can buy and also outlasts all other lights many times over so u save money too :)

  • ya he has a hidebox and i feed him dandelions (leaves and flower), mustard greens, collard greens and mangoes and papaya's sumtimes. and i don't have any other pets. and i wanted to know if i can use calcium supplements made for humans cuz i can't find rep-cal anywhere. it shows this: each tablet contains elemental calcium (from 1500 mg of calcium carbonate).....600mg

vitamin D3 .... 125 IU. is it ok to give him this calcium supplemention or not? and i don't have UVB cuz i couldn't find one

  • u can use calcium pills just grind up some into powder and sprinkle some on their food, but if your not using a UVB light they will get MBD no matter what unless they go outside an hour a day in full sun, they need calcium with D3 added unless u use megaray uvb light then do NOT give D3 the light is so good they make all thr D3 they need in their skin under the light, u can get rep-cal, megaray uvb lights & nutribac df & herptivite all from reptileuv, com

  • mr.binty i need ur help my baby iguana he sleeps most of the time in day. what's wrong wid him and what should i do. and there r no reptile vets where i live. is he sick or something?

  • yes they should not sleep much during the day although in the afternoon they may goto bed early at times or just lay around basking & digesting, sounds like he has worms u can find a reptile vet thru anapsid, org or thru a reptile rescue u can find on petfinder, com a regular vet could check long as they can read up or call a reptile vet to ask what to look for & what meds to give to clear it up, many baby igs die from worms like puppies can also what is ur basking temps? what lights do u have?

  • tell me everything about ur set up and what u feed does he have a hide box or not? any other pets u have and i'll try to help u figure out what the problem is

  • MiStA BiNtY!

I took yor Advice, my iguana has been great. I actually see bumps where his horns will grow. I'm going to have to make him a hide box out of cardboured. I understand it is an essential for babies.

  • great, yep a shoe box works for a while until the pee in it or sneeze too much salt inside but i've used plastic shoeboxes i just cut a hole on one end and soften it with a liter just be close to the sick if the plastic catches on fire in that spot you just want to take the rough edge off and find one with opaque sides so u can see if they are in it but they can't see u from inside and a solid color lid u can't see thru they are washable and easy to clean

  • yes he has a hidebox, which he sleeps in every night. its 75 on the cool side 85 on the warm and about 94-98 basking spot. uvb light is slimline desert 7%uvb lamp. as far as food goes ive been going off green iguana society, using collard, mustard, dandelion greens and escarole..parsnips, asparagus, okra, bell peppers, butternut squash, yellow squash.and then he likes treats like grapes, mango, and habiscus flowers. i chop it all up pretty small for him, is that all good for a baby?

  • yep the food sounds fine and the temps sound bout right too only things i can think of is i'd get him a fecal check for worms & also the uvb light is not a good one those have a unnaturally bright UV index much higher then the sun would have & maybe very blue looking to him i'd change it out cause those have been known to hurt their eyes, u can read more bout it on the uvguide,uk u should switch over to megaray combo lighings right now he can't see in full color so his food will look very odd

  • depending on how much u can spend u can get a 100 watt that puts out great uvb for up to 18 months but it doesn't like being bumped around it can break the filiment inside but is warranted for 10 months, or the 60 watt EB thats twice as much but can last 2 1/2 years on uvb output, then u can add 2 of their long tube 5000 kelvin non-uvb fluorescents the lenth of your set up and 1 of their halogens for a 2nd basking spot without uvb so ur ig can regulate how much uvb he wants when basking

  • I have had my new baby iguana for about 2 weeks now and ive been giving him healthy foods but sometimes im not sure if he is eating, he poops every day but some days the food looks untouched, what is the best way to tell he is getting the proper amount of food? also i was wondering exactly how much food i should be puting in there for him?

  • well usually babies dont like to eat in front of others atleast not for a good while until they know its ok & they trust u more, does he have a hidebox its very important, what are the air & basking temps? what uvb light are u using? are the pieces of food cut or torn small enuff? what are u feeding him?check out my baby feeding video for more info on what & how much also most babies come with worms so have a fecal check done on him it doesn't cost much but can save his life & use a reptile vet
