And the Advisors are the master species behind the combine. They are those who control. Gman speaks in riddles too, and has a very unique style in speaking...It is very similar to Glados. So my idea is that the G.man is a robot with Glados' chip or 'brain". Sorry pal, you have no understanding of how lighting effects the appearance of eye colour appearance. Take a good look at the lighting, very carefully. Under the same spectrum lighting as Gordon to the right, Gmans eyes are blue. Case closed.

perhaps "gman" is not really what he is suposed to be, maybe he only shows himself to gordon in this shape, because gordon is affraid if him, mind he is sitting at a desk in an black mesa office and telling gordon about him doing something that affected Alyx in the future.
In the start of HL1 when they are giving Gordons information they say his administration is unknown or "classified" so as how no one knows who Gman is I do believe he leads Gordon the direction hes supposed to go and do the things he is supposed to do. That's why Gman pops up around the game. Making sure Gordon is doing what hes supposed to and talking to people he will run into to tell them what to say.
I think valve is going to keep the personality and history of Gordon as vague as possible, since the player assumes his identity, and "becoming Gordon Freeman" has been a pretty big part of all the half-life games. That's why I think G-man isn't related to Freeman except as a controlling and mysterious force.
Valve won't use it now since this ''rumor'' has been going around pretty heavy and if they had the idea of G-Man being Gordon from the future they would probably scrapped the idea long time ago because all the fans predictions.
They probably want to take the fans by suprise.
So G-Man could be the hero from Opposing Force.

if this is true then g-man is a very old version compared to the young version, because g-man version is much skinnier in his face. so if the gordon from the future tries to help the young gordon (which hasn't really been shown so far), that would mean that hl3 might be about this idea about timetravelling.

2.Eli Vance knows Gman, he also knows Gordon Freeman, and he says that Gman is their enemy
3.Vortigaunts are saving you from Gman
4.Gman is doing bad things to you
5.No Time machines ... They are still working on Portal technology
6.Gman can put Gordon freeman into stasis, so he doesnt become older, so if gman puts GF forever in stasis, GF cant get older and become Gman

G-Man was originally from the data files of HL1 which stood for "Government Man", Gordon freeMan is a complete freak coincidence (like Adrian Shepard characters being highlighted on the Portal keyboards) He wasn't even meant to be called G-Man officially, but the name stuck.
I know crazy things do happen in the Half Life universe, but seriously, G-Man and Gordon the same person? Come on.

@TheGhostlyboredom G-Man being able to kill you in HL1 doesn't mean anything. Because once you die, you start over, so its like you didn't die to begin with. So really it doesn't count that he can kill you. The fact is, by the end of the story, you're still alive right. So really, you survived the whole game, and didn't die technically.

I don't think G-man is Gordon at all, not even hes dad. I mean... in episode one when all thoose vortiguls(bad spelling) try to save you G-man has a freak and tried to prevent them... What sort of "Dad" does that? Or even if G-man was Gordon,

It's so obvious they aren't the same person! They used different people as models for the characters faces! If they were the same person they would use the same person as a model for Gmans face and Gordons. But they got one person as a model for Gmans face, and several people for Gordons that were put together.

BUT, if G-man is Gordon, he would already know what Gordon would choose. He knows himself better than anyone else. It doesn't matter whether he could have died, the fact is, Gordon accepted.
G-man knew he would, for, given the same situation, he would make exactly the same choice, even if G-man couldn't predict the outcome.

well gman also says that freeman is only given the illusion of free choice; said in half life 2, which probably meant that the only way to truly defeat the first game you must go through the portal on the tram; which you the gamer after refusing the offer, will inevitably do. though i'm not supporting the fact the gman is g-ordan free-man, if you look at both of them, their facial structures are off

Uhh....thought i should throw out that its a game.
Games are made by people, people have art styles and these two characters are in the same game by the ssame company. its not uncommon to see similar models in games by the same company. go to the BioWare website and look at the 2 guys...

this is my theory.
I think the g man is related to gordon freeman. He is from the future. Maybe a close future or a distant future. Because the combine is messin around with portals and the like g man had to intervene although can not have a direct involvement because of the laws of space and time. well thts wat i think anyway :D

I remain unconvinced.
I am more than certain one can take the features of one of the nameless characters from half-life 2 and set it next to the gman's and find some zany hidden code in some random symbol on his shirt maybe that doesn't exist and presto nameless character 1099 is the gman!!!!

it has been proved in-game that gordon is NOT gman, because the nihilanth says this: "you (gordon) are man, he (g-man) is not man..." so it means gordon is human, and gman is of a different race

about the theory i started at the begining, it is possible, that "gman" is actually an advisor or any other kind of alien being (or even something, that was on earth before, but was intelligent enough not to show itself to humans. JUST LET YOUR IMAGINATION LOOSE AND SOMEONE MIGHT GUESS A CORRECT THEORY.

i agree with that comment about him checking on gordon. and there is one more thing, it may be someone, that gordon knows in the future or something and gordon (or someone else or he just goes for it himself) asks him to lead him through all the things gordon has to do to save humanity, like a time circle, get it?

In the start of HL1 when they are giving Gordons information they say his administration is unknown or "classified" so as how no one knows who Gman is I do believe he leads Gordon the direction hes supposed to go and do the things he is supposed to do. That's why Gman pops up around the game. Making sure Gordon is doing what hes supposed to and talking to people he will run into to tell them what to say.

I think valve is going to keep the personality and history of Gordon as vague as possible, since the player assumes his identity, and "becoming Gordon Freeman" has been a pretty big part of all the half-life games. That's why I think G-man isn't related to Freeman except as a controlling and mysterious force.

They are not the same people.
Valve won't use it now since this ''rumor'' has been going around pretty heavy and if they had the idea of G-Man being Gordon from the future they would probably scrapped the idea long time ago because all the fans predictions.
They probably want to take the fans by suprise.
So G-Man could be the hero from Opposing Force.
Remember he was detained, and G-Man said he was like G-Man himself.
We'll see if we get the answer in Episode Three.

That couldn't be possible, because, it will be a time paradox of replicate,is teoracly impossible to a person be in two places at the same time,also if ever Gordon see G-man, they would desapear, example, if Gordon is at a Bridge killing a Headcrab, and G-man is at a tower talking to a combine, as they are the same person, Gordon wouldn't be at the bridge killing a Headcrab and G-man couldn't be talking to the combine at the tower, as he is Gordon and Gordon is G-man, they couldn't even exist!

if this is true then g-man is a very old version compared to the young version, because g-man version is much skinnier in his face. so if the gordon from the future tries to help the young gordon (which hasn't really been shown so far), that would mean that hl3 might be about this idea about timetravelling.
but that'll be all the way 2014/15 or something... sigh...

nice video! however i belive, that G-man is not ralated to gordon freeman at all. in fact G-man most likely stands for government-man, however to keep G-man as a mysterious and little know about charecter, Valve those to keep the name, as a short, since it creates more confusion.

the widow peak was really just a screw up for valve b cuz in half life 1 he has it so they added it in episode 2 but they didnt pay attention to gordons little details and they wanted gman to look like the original so they just gave him the widow peak like in the first one
