  • 8 String o0

  • i don't understand. What's so special about this? Why would anyone pay $80 for a tuner when you could get a cheap on that clips on the head? What's the point of paying this much for a pedal?

  • i have to same tuner but mine uses numbers insted of letters. Is there a to change it?

  • Hey, I have a TU 2, can you please tell me how to change the setting from showing 1 to 6 to showing the actual notes of the strings?

  • I just got mine used from guitar center. But no manual. Its tuning right but with the string numbers. I play in Drop A and B and need to know the notes. anyeone know how to change that setting? I';ve tried meddling with it.

  • what does the bypass jack do? how is it different from the regular output?

  • hi how are you doing? what's the difference between the regular output and the bypass? thanks

  • Thanks for showing is bro going out in a couple minutes to buy one for myself thanks :D!

  • Define a normal tuner

  • @craigmcarthur1 what does the bypass jack do? how is it different from the regular output?

  • why buy this when you can use a normal tuner? wtf?

  • @shabond901 its a lot more convenient using a tuner you can stomp on and off inside your rig when your playing live, saves having to unplug your guitar and re plug it into a tuner

  • @shakunkadunk Well thx for ur answer. :D

  • whats a good tuning for a 8-string for death metal even death core?

  • Honestly... the TU-2 gets the job done

I love BOS pedals but id wrather buy the TU-2 off Ebay and save $20-$30 then buying the same exact thing, just with a 3 on it

  • where did you buy this tuner at ??

  • the F string sounds cool.....

  • I just bout this tuner off ebay, cant wait to get it. ive been tuning by ear for the past 10 years so im excited to get this and work with it.

  • @TigertailzBezerk Oh! so now i know who out bid me on ebay, i hope you break your G string!!!!!!!! LOL! :)

  • @BlueSuedeTom hahahahahaha

  • can it tune from standard tuning to drop C/drop D/drop B?

  • Yup it can

  • @rerean yea use a custom 8 string sized capo.... thats wat i do with my 7 string

  • @rerean do you know if there is a pedal or else that change the tuning of the guitar without tune the guitar?

  • @stavroswrc what do you mean? im confused

  • @rerean yes sorry about my poor english.. if there is something that change the tune of the guitar automatically in half step down for example, without change the tune from the guitar strings?

  • @rerean i think hes talking about a pitch shifter that can detune the guitar without you having to change the tuning.

  • Is it just a tuner?

  • Yup

  • That thing you played at the beginning sounded cool

  • neato :3

  • Its discontinued

    D=

    They have a TU-3 now

what did the tu-3 do that the tu-2 couldnt?

  • No idea. Never used the TU-3. Quite happy with the TU-2 for live use. Unlikely i will be another floor based tuner any time soon

  • @craigmcarthur1 the TU-3 can probably tune 8 strings better. lol jk

  • What mode is it in?

  • Chromatic Mode, Where it gives you the note of the string tone. The dot means sharp

  • Ok. Thanks. I brought this and LOVE you. =]

  • so it tells you the notes as your tuning?

  • Yes one of the cool things about it

  • that's what tuners do...

  • i know its fucking brilliant, i didnt realise that either!!!

  • oOoo the lights................ XD

  • Hey If I buy this pedal, I have to buy an 9Vc adaptor yeah ?

But, can this pedal transfer energy for the others pedal with only one adaptor ?!

  • Yup as with the Boss ns-2 you can use the TU-2 to power a few other pedals via a diasy chain approach using only one wall wart power supply

  • if you use the wrong adapter it will fry it

  • is it realy any different from a £15 plastic hand held tuner? it takes up valuable board space and is very expebsive

  • Yes it is more accurate. Its not the most accurate, there r better tuners. But it has several useful features which enable quick and easy on stage tuning regardless of lighting conditions. in the grand scheme of things it aint that expensive

  • i always thought you stomped on if your guitar went out of tune during a show, and it would make it sound better lol.

  • if i used this pedal before a show, can i tune and it mutes it so that the people cant hear me tune?

  • Yup, if you have it in output the tuner will allow you to tune silently. In this video i have it in bypass mode meaning you hear the notes.

  • the chord that you played at the end was nice. :)

  • i dont really understand y you would pay 100 for a tuner

  • lmao!!! my amp came with one fuck yaeh

  • accuracy, durability, its bypass ability, tuning modes

  • i just had my ibanez rg 2228 today and curently have this pedal as well but its the first time that i have locknuts so im new to this, shoudl i lock the nuts first and tune it after or tune it right away and lock it?

im new to this and have probs with tuning the bass string.

    keep it metal gentlemens

    devilevilwayz

  • Is it easy for a beginner(me) to use?

Cos i'm planning on buying one.

  • Yes it very simple to use.

  • no ibanez

  • can you tune low for the heavier stuff with this pedal? and whats the difference between this pedal and other guitar tuners? :)

  • Yup u can tune more or less anyt tuning with this pedal. We have 6, 7 and 8 string and baritone guitars in our band and use a variety of tunings, in a several down tunings and have never had a problem.

As for the difference, most pedals are fairly simila in that they tune. Some will be more accurate than others and some may diminish your tone

  • haha!! at around 25 seconds did you say Kmon you bastard? i think thats what i heard lol. great vid ty muchy !: D

  • Hahah Im not sure I didnt hear it!

  • i have a spider 3 150 amp it has a tuner it its amazing. its a very versatile amp great for any guitarist

  • Are multiple tunings possible on this?

  • Yup you can tune to any tuning on this pedal

  • How much will this great pedal cost??

  • It will vary depending on where u live just do a ogoogle product search for ur local prices

  • Can this work for a 5-string bass?

  • Yup

  • So you are probably much better than me, but I noticed you don't "tune up"... What I mean by this is if you always make sure you hit the right note while twisting your tuning knob higher, it will stay in tune better.

  • Yes this is true, and it is something I do if I am using a standard guitar with a tuno-matic bridge, standard nut and tunings pegs. But when usiing a guitar with a locking tuning system its less of an issue, as you are using the fine tuning dials at the bridge.

  • Completely right on! Some people don't know this, or understand it, but if you don't have a locking bridge and crappy tuners, it will help tremendously to "tune up" (so to speak) - I gotta say man, you are insane with your reviews!!! You can send your unused pedals my way! :P

  • 8 string with locking nut. lulz

  • I laughed aswell as a locking nut on a hardtail seems very stupid.

    Infact it is ..............

Which is why i don't even use it on the 8 string,

  • would this tuner let me tune my guitar to ?

    C#

    G#

    E

    B

    F#

    C#

  • whater you like bro

  • Yes

  • @fenderstratman888 you should look up what the word chromatic means hahaha

  • yes but I dont know how many .. for me she power 7 other pedals ..

  • yes.

  • Can the TU-2 power other pedals on your pedalboard? and if Yes, how many?

    Thanks..

  • Yes it can be used to power other pedal on your board via a diasy chain system like the NS-2. The amount of pedals depends on the power rating and Amp rating of each pedal. Not sure of the exact amount. I wouldnt use it as my promary power supply for my board.

  • I have just understood that's can be usefull in live to have a pedal to tune !

  • I don't understand what is the object of this pedals apart from to tune ...

  • Nothing else dude...

  • Output and bybass, what is the difference and what should i use if i connect this with my other pedals? I suppose i set this pedal as the last thing in my board?

  • Output means when the pedal is on yourguitar signal is muted for silent tuning. IN bypass mode it means your guitar signal is always sent o the amp, so u can hear yourself tune thru the amp

I put it first in my chain

  • when you connect your pedals in the loop effects, where do you connect the tu-2? in front? or in the loop effects as well?

  • I have mine at the front going into the direct input of my amp

  • hey all boss pedals need a battery?

  • Yup either a battery or a 9V DC mains supply

  • Wait, isn't the low F# string supposed to be tuned to E, since you tuned all the other strings a full step down?

  • No, the guitar was tuned half as tep down on all strings.

For some reason the tuner displays the note letters differently than most tuners i use.

    Gaz

  • i like the strobe setting better

  • When i try to tune my guitar with it, it shows the correct tone in a half sec or so.. after that it says 0 and the lights go all the way to the right.. is it bcoz i need to plug it in with a power cord in addition to the battery or is it an error which needs repairing?

  • Mmm not sure. I use mains supply on my tuner also, so I dont think its a power problem. Not entirely sure. Best contacting Boss or retruning the unit as faulty

  • dude, i need some help.

i tune in B-F#-D-A-E-B... This will work for me? Another question: Could this pedal mute the sound while tunning guitar on stage or something? Is it tru-bypass?

  • yeah it reads every not the only problem is if u what the sharp u switch modes unless u have common sense and leave as is but make that not sharp or flat

  • Shouldnt be a problem. Yes it can be used as a kill switch and for silent tuning. No i dont think its true bypass

  • I am new to guitars would this tuner also work for my acoustic / electric guitar and bass guitar?

  • Yup it will indeed dude

  • What are the letters for a 7 string guitar? Like i know a normal 6 string is E-A-D-G-B-E. but what is it for 7. thanks

  • Generally I have my 7 string tuned with a low B. B-E-A-D-G-B-E

  • Correct. Most 7 string guitars are simply a 6 string tuning with an extra low B on there.

  • why does mine says number?

  • You can have it in number mode or note mode. Read the manual, it will tell you how to toggle between them. I prefer note mode as I use alot of alt tunings

  • a thanks i was on the guitar mode now its on the chromatic mode now i see the letters thanks bro.

  • how do you tune with a floyd rose using this pedal?

  • The guitar used in this video had a floyd rose. The tuner makes little difference to the process of tuning on a floyd rose guitar, you would simply tune in the normal way

  • No sir. The guitar used in this video doesn't have a floyd rose.

To tune a floyd you do the following steps

    Tune low E

    Tune low E + A

    Tune low E

  • well i accidentally hit the post button halfway through posting so here goes again.

    Tune low E

    Tune low E + A

    Tune low E + A + D

    Tune low E + A + D + G

    Tune low E + A + D + G + b

    Tune low E + A + D + G + b + e

and fine adjust it from there. That should prove the ebst way to tune a floyd but be warned it takes ages unless you can lock down the trem for tuning (ala tremolno).

    Gaz

  • hw do u tell btw?? the guy who posted say is floyd rose.. and u say is nt.. lol..

  • Well im the guy tuning the guitar in the video and i own the 8 string being tuned. It doesn't have a floyd rose.

Craig is unfortunatly confused by the type of bridge on this guitar as it *looks* like a floyd but is actually a hardtail.

    Sorry for the confusion.

    Gaz

  • This does work for Bass right?

  • yeah for sure.I'm thinking about buying one today.

  • Thanks.

  • Yes it does indeed. I know a few bass players who use it.

  • Cheers.

  • if i link my guitar to the input and the rest of my pedals/amp to the bypass out when i stomp the tu-2 it bypass everything??

  • The basic output will cause the guitar signal to be muted. If you connect the output signal to the Bypass the TU-2 will be in use and the guitar signal will still be sent to your pedals and amp thus you wil lhear the guitar. So 'Output' for muted tuning, 'Bypass' for tuning with sound from your amp.

  • Thanks dude! (i made the question from my band's youtube account),

Oh and i wanna ask you if a epi Les Paul Standart matchs well with Seymour duncan JB?

  • It does indeed yeh. The Sunburst LP i play in some videos is an Epiphone Les Paul Standard. I installed the JB in the bridge and '59 in the neck years ago. I also replaced the wiring and potentiometers etc. Sounds great. I have since had it re-fretted. Plays very wll and sounds excellent especially thru a nice tube amp, big big difference from the stock model it once was. Very much recommend the Seymours. I hav it on good authority that Bare Knuckle Pickups are worth a look also.

  • wiring and potentiometers??? Re-fretted?? lol

  • Why is that funny?

  • I just don't know what is it.......xD, it was like, another quetion

  • Aaaah right sorry. Basically i replaced the volume and tone knobs inside the guitar, the jack and all the wiring inside the guitar along with the pickups. Improved the sound and reduced the noise. I had it re-fretted as our drummer dropped it on its neck and a few frets were dented thus caused choking frets.

  • Tnhks a lot dude, i have a tele with seylour duncan soapbars and i wanna buy a good guitar for backup so i think de epi LP with another pickUps will be cool. :)

  • Which song is this from?

  • i lol'd

  • I been using one of these for a while now. They're good if you're playing indoors, but if you try tunning up outside on a sunny day you're in trouble. Just thought i'd save anyone having to find out for themselves. \m/_

  • Yeh I have had a similar experience with outdoor venues infact. All Boss pedals were problematic infact. IN bright sunshine it is very difficult to see if the pedal is on or off. Some pedals are ok if they have Blue LED's, but red is very difficult to see. Constructing a pedalboard shade for outdoor gigs is a good idea, sometimes using ur monitor close ot your board is enough depending on the angle of the sun!

    Thanks for the comment!

  • rg2228

    i got 1 2

  • I never thought to switch to blue led's. Thanks for the tip mate! \m/_

  • when u push down the pedal what happens

  • You should do demos of different leads of different grades.

  • I dont know if your serious? Would u actually want to see that? Coz I meant this vid as a joke lol!

  • Easily my favorite demo :P.
