I was just knee-high to a grasshopper back then, but now, after serving 21 years in the Air Force, bouncing all over the world, and finally settling down in Las Vegas, Nevada, I still have a soft spot in my heart for Youngstown. I dream of one day returning and living out the remainder of my days in the beauty of northeastern Ohio... in Younstown. Maybe someday...

I used to live in youngstown, West side baby, but ive seen some bad stuff and good stuff in y-town. When I was A kid i couldnt imagine a better community to live in. But yeah, everyone year it gets worse and worse. But i Will always love y-town. Its where i Grew Up

Take a walk through the old Youngstown Sheet and Tube...thats pretty much what Youngstown "used" to be....it will remind you of Chernobyl a little though. Thats the best way to learn about it.

The downtown is actually pretty nice now, and it's getting nicer by the week. Downtown is actually safer than the parking lots of the malls. The neighborhoods east and south of downtown are still pretty bad, but every city has bad areas. you just have to know where they are.
I'm actually curious. People are free to move within the country to places where Jobs are plentiful and the living's easy. Why stay in a failed city? Why doesn't everyone leave and give the town back to the forest?
