I saw the video and it's completely blown way out of proportion! First off, it wasn't TSA who put cuff's on her it was airport Law Enforcement, second the video show's the McLain chick freaking out and going way over board with the dramatics. The TSA employees were shown trying to calm her down and comfort her. And third, no boarding pass was ripped up. It was 18 minutes of footage and it was boring as hell.

Call TX Governor Rick Perry at 512 463 2000 to let him know you support HB 41 and SB 29, a bill which criminalizes touching of genitals without probable cause as a condition for travel. There is majority support in the House AND Senate, and the only thing holding this legislation back is Perry, who must add the legislation to the special session agenda for it to be considered. Just say you're from TX. If passed in TX, this legislation will give the green light for your state to do the same.

The fact is, most people know that private security guards have no more legal authority than any other private citizen - so people will stand up to them more readily. TSA has a (false) aura of law-enforcement, so people put up with their abuses. States need to invoke their rights, stand up to the feds, and get the option restored. Texas is doing that right now.

@syn010110 The private security you speak of doesnt actually screen passengers in international or interstate airports. they are only found doing screening in private airports. in major airports they hire private security to cover areas other than the actual checkpoint to increase their coverage area. Airports CANT fire TSA because TSA is a branch of the Federal Government and they have ultimate jurisdiction as far as checkpoints go.
from what im hearing from all this talk on here is you have some TSA personel not doing their job correctly. I recently changed jobs but was at TSA for 3 years and i can tell you that some of the stuff that goes on here is just isolated incidents of TSA officers taking their job a little too seriously or stepping outside the bounds of what is in the actual SOP (standard operating proceedure).

TSA is out of control, the only reason they can do this is because they know that people have to fly in order to see their loved ones, and have to travel for work, or just want to go on vacation. On the other side of the flight we had to replace the chemicals.
This means that the drinking water plant was UNSECURED for 3 days that we know of, while we were getting the chemicals to the tech via "UPS AIR delivery"
One of my Tech had a Fiber kit when he boarded a fight to fix a Home Land Security tamper Fiber Cable that was dug up. It runs between a water treatment plant and the local police department to alert if someone is messing with the drinking water.
The TSA removed all of the chemicals from the kit making it virtually useless. The tech was allowed to flight but had to sign a lifetime ticket that he "attempted to bring dangerous unknown chemicals on a flight" He had all the proper papers for it.
Interesting that one of the videos was removed from Youtube for a violation but the 2nd more unclear fuzzy video remains.
The TSA put up a good show when they know where the cameras are and where to stand to obscure what they are holding or doing and not to look at the cameras but to hurry the crowd around the situation.

Just for coherent understanding, @ 11:24, the reference made by the commentor about the abysmal failure of weaponry detection which was revealed by TSA's covert testing procedure last year, is precisely why they've ramped up the new, more stringent scanning or physical search policy. A building collapse would not cause every beam to be cut at the same height with the same angle... And if you were unaware, this is text book building demolition technique. I saw the video and it's completely blown way out of proportion! First off, it wasn't TSA who put cuff's on her it was airport Law Enforcement, second the video show's the McLain chick freaking out and going way over board with the dramatics. The TSA employees were shown trying to calm her down and comfort her. And third, no boarding pass was ripped up. It was 18 minutes of footage and it was boring as hell.

Call TX Governor Rick Perry at 512 463 2000 to let him know you support HB 41 and SB 29, a bill which criminalizes touching of genitals without probable cause as a condition for travel. There is majority support in the House AND Senate, and the only thing holding this legislation back is Perry, who must add the legislation to the special session agenda for it to be considered. Just say you're from TX. If passed in TX, this legislation will give the green light for your state to do the same.

The fact is, most people know that private security guards have no more legal authority than any other private citizen - so people will stand up to them more readily. TSA has a (false) aura of law-enforcement, so people put up with their abuses. States need to invoke their rights, stand up to the feds, and get the option restored. Texas is doing that right now.

@syn010110 The private security you speak of doesnt actually screen passengers in international or interstate airports. they are only found doing screening in private airports. in major airports they hire private security to cover areas other than the actual checkpoint to increase their coverage area. Airports CANT fire TSA because TSA is a branch of the Federal Government and they have ultimate jurisdiction as far as checkpoints go.

I recently changed jobs but was at TSA for 3 years and i can tell you that some of the stuff that goes on here is just isolated incidents of TSA officers taking their job a little too seriously or stepping outside the bounds of what is in the actual SOP (standard operating proceedure).

I for one am not going to be flying anytime soon and when I do I plan on opting out every time I do fly and suggest everyone else does the same. Again this was a Home Land Security JOB and papers directly from the HLS department to go and fix this cable were available.
The kit costs $8K and yes every chemical is dangerous but that is what it takes to install and mend Fiber Cable (Glass).
On the other side of the flight we had to replace the chemicals.
This means that the drinking water plant was UNSECURED for 3 days that we know of, while we were getting the chemicals to the tech via "UPS AIR delivery"
How long before is unknown.

One of my Tech had a Fiber kit when he boarded a fight to fix a Home Land Security tamper Fiber Cable that was dug up. It runs between a water treatment plant and the local police department to alert if someone is messing with the drinking water.
The TSA removed all of the chemicals from the kit making it virtually useless. The tech was allowed to flight but had to sign a lifetime ticket that he "attempted to bring dangerous unknown chemicals on a flight" He had all the proper papers for it.

Interesting that one of the videos was removed from Youtube for a violation but the 2nd more unclear fuzzy video remains.
The TSA put up a good show when they know where the cameras are and where to stand to obscure what they are holding or doing and not to look at the cameras but to hurry the crowd around the situation.
This only shows the outside area not the back stage areas where the accused it held and further fondled and harassed.

I don't see any handcuffs period. I see her blowing her nose after being handed a paper towel when she claims she couldn't blow her nose. I didn't see her ticket being torn up. She claims she is only person "randomly chosen" but I see other passengers are going through the body scanner. We all get x-rays during our lifetime for medical reasons and we voluntarily submit to them for our health safety. She entered at 17.58 and is seen leaving at 18.10 , a mere 12 minutes

Just for coherent understanding, @ 11:24, the reference made by the commentor about the abysmal failure of weaponry detection which was revealed by TSA's covert testing procedure last year, is precisely why they've ramped up the new, more stringent scanning or physical search policy. It may not be perfect or comfortable to all patrons but it at least addressed prioe existing security flaws. We can only hope that the most effectual and successful procedures will result.

Wouldn't a bomb at the mall at Christmas time kill more than a bomb on a plane?What about trains? What would it take to make Americans feel safe? I'm sorry to say that Meg is a liar. At first I was sympathetic, since I hate government intrusion into privacy. But I've watched the videos at the link above.
In the 1st, you can clearly see (at 1:32) that she is wearing a bracelet that is claimed to be "handcuffs" in a still-photo on that site. Then, (at 10:25) in the same video, she is waving her left arm in the air, proving that she isn't cuffed to the chair. Lies like this don't advance the cause.

Of course she's lying - if you watch the full video - not only is it obvious that virtually nothing she complains about actually happened - it is blatantly clear that many people DO get the enhanced pat-downs during the time she's in the chair. I am against the stupidity of the TSA, but lying hurts rahter than furthers progress.

@Mushuukyou Have you not seen the photos of beams cut at perfect 45 degree angles with melted steel running down them?? This was on GROUND level.... A building collapse would not cause every beam to be cut at the same height with the same angle... And if you were unaware, this is text book building demolition technique. You use thermite to cut through the beam almost instantly, at it essentially falls in on itself.
It is you who needs to open their eyes... I feel sorry for you, honestly
