This is a funny video, and brings up the question - what happens to bullies later? Although many bullying victims may take some pleasure in this, I think the real situation is that "it gets" a billion different things, all depending.
The message that ought to be given to LGBT youth is: It usually does get better post-high-school, but with some extra effort it can get a LOT better!
Not the way to deal with bullies in my opinion. Many people bully because they feel hopeless. Telling them they are solves nothing, and adds to the problem. I get what you were going for, but... Nope. Missed the mark.

Why is this campaign so black and white? Being straight doesn't make you a douchebag, and being gay doesn't make you creative or special. It just defines your sexual orientation. This campaign should be on a broader scale; it should focus on ANYONE being bullied. It also shouldn't just feed the "victims" with false hope. Sometimes, it doesn't get better.

Well, The bullies in school have the upper hand over the GLBT. Thing is after school, people just do not put up with bigotry. NO ONE likes a bully after high school. The difficulty I have with this, is IT gets better. You're no longer judged, you get to worry about just yourself and no one else. Pretty awesome spin. I was a band geek in high school, a computer/art/philosophy geek in college, and now I'm making AAA video games for a living in Southern California. You know, I find this very uplifting.

my take on this video is that it makes suicidal non-gays feel worse. especially in an economy where there is so much job loss. just because you are creative does not mean you will succeed. you have to take what you can get as far as jobs go and a lot of people are ending up here, gay and straight. not all straight guys are bastards, and not all gay guys are saints. Why is this campaign so black and white? Being straight doesn't make you a douchebag, and being gay doesn't make you creative or special. It just defines your sexual orientation. This campaign should be on a broader scale; it should focus on ANYONE being bullied. It also shouldn't just feed the "victims" with false hope. Sometimes, it doesn't get better.

The difficulty I have with this, is IT gets better. You're no longer judged, you get to worry about just yourself and no one else. If you do hold on to your high school things as "monumental points in life" then you haven't moved on to find MORE in life. I'm 20 and love everything I've done since I was 19.
