  • @tomengrish, I agree with you. These videos were made in early 2010, to later. Many features on the trucks were updated, exhaust break as you said, they should do re-runs of all of them

  • dude seriously? looks like a lot of bullshit to me. going faster down hill would make it swerve a lot more. as you can see the road moving by a lot slower when it shows the fords view of the ground next to the chevy and dodges view of the ground ive towed a 9000lbs trailer with my 1500 hemi and it never swerved that much

  • Old trucks were built way better. No computers, thicker steel and simple engines. lots of power and lots of fuel used. Real men drive carbed GM and Dodge trucks. Anybody could fix them with just an adjustable wrench and a pair of vicegrips.

  • I truly like the ford better, I have always owned ford trucks (had some chevys too), but i just dont think that this test is accurate. There was a noticeable difference, sure, but watching it almost seemed like they started swerving the trucks to get more sway than what they had.

  • @scorpo8900 BUT, an improperly loaded trailer, which can very easily be accomplished, can cause sway that you do not intend to happen.

  • each manufacturer stands on some category, but it is wrong to believe that one can be the best anywhere, magazines, internet sites, gives grand winner for 2011 chevrolet hd, this does not mean that ford will not return in turn truck of the year, according to comments on this debate, many of you confirms what I mean on this comment, I did test not breached the credibility of ford, is so far e I find exaggerate it is test that call themselves the best everywhere

  • The 2011 Silverado hd is avalible with trailer stabilaty control. so stop making false statments and By the way Fords don't have an exhaust brake or hill decsent control like the chevy.

  • @tomengrish The Silverado didn't have trailer sway control when this video was made. And yes, the SD has an exhaust brake. Do some research before making fact less comments.

  • These challenges are stupid, mostly because it's ford doing the tests. Of course they're not gonna let their truck look worse than the competition on their own comparisons. To me it looks like they don't push the trucks as hard as the ford so that they look worse than the ford. If you see the real test between ford and chevy that 2 guys did in colorado. it's way more believeable and thats why the new LML duramax is the truck of the year.

  • the whole point of the improper load is to demonstrate the TSC. even with a proper load sway will occur ( curvy roads, high winds, wet roads). THINK before commenting.

  • What a waste of money. If your going to tow something, load the trailer properly. There is no reason for this system to be on any vehicle.

  • @bja9999 Towing a large load on the highway and someone cuts you off, that is ONE reason for this system. Ever have a trailer jack knife on you? The chance's of that happening with this system are greatly reduced.

  • @terdfergasin you can get an amazing deal from dodge ...but i say you get what you pay for...if your just buying a truck for looks and not working it really hard the dodge will be fine,but if you need to work really hard the ford will tolerate alot more abuse

  • Let me start by saying I am a dodge man myself.. I have owned 3 cummins powered dodges 1997 5.9 2006 5.9 2008 6.7 and a 2011 F250 6.7 PSD, let me tell you this new ford makes all my other trucks seem slow, rough and fuel guzzlers. my 97' has 370k miles and it does impressive fuel economy however this new ford is something else. I love it.. it's my wife's truck and I get surprised by it every single time. A friend of ours has a dmax and its almost identical to the new ford...

  • WTF??? to test towing doesnt mean trailer sway feature..... wat abt towing capcacity or hauling or payload... first of all RAM does have trailer sway but its optional... and of course Ford proving grounds arent going to get a truck tht has optional trailer sway so they probably got the basic ram 2500.. u can see the flaws of this test

  • @Baowolfe What you see isn't the driver swerving to get the trailer to sway, when a trailer is loaded that improperly a breeze or bump can set the trailer swaying like that and it shakes the truck.

Ford GM and Dodge are all guilty making commercials and ad's that make their trucks look far superior to the competition, most of the time under unrealistic conditions. Its all just part of the marketing game. Best thing anyone can do (If they are like me) Is love their favorite brand for what it is.

  • dont for get they arent loaded right and just throwing this out there my 7.3 will last longer then any of those trucks i sold my 6.4 to my buddy cuz he said his duramax broke down on him for the last time i towed that fucker every time to 6times it an 07 my 7.3 has 574,498 you just have to take care of it

    Considering the Cummins is top for durability, especially when compared to the recent trouble prone Ford diesels, your argument doesn't make sense. A better question would have been how did you keep the Dodge doors from falling off during the test.

    As for the test itself, I guess if you don't know how to drive with a trailer, buy the Ford.

  • Again, no regulation as to what amount is placed onto each truck. Only showing us what they want to show us. Each driver again will drive their own style. And finally, each truck has its own capabilities. I would like to each the top of the line from all three trucks (accessories and towing capabilities, etc) then you may have a decent truck. But your not really comparing apples to apples, when each truck is different in its own specs

  • i love ford and all, but these tests are all rigged, dodge has em gm has em, there all great trucks and they all get the job done, but im just curious on these tests the axle ratio of the trucks. ford probs made theirs 4.10 and dodge and gms 3.73 thus making ford a more smooth ride towing something. there all great trucks

  • i would like to see the diffrence of the steering in each truck that each driver is using.Because i have drove chaevy and dodge pulling 12 000 12 000 lbs trailers and they have never don that if i have to weave or pass somebody.

    Shit like that marks 45% of the fatal accidents in this state, it's not just the people here, it's out-of-staters, Colorado, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Nebraska and South Dakota, with a mingle of some locals, the trailers may be fine where they are, but the wind here in Wyoming is what makes it a living hell.

All the more evidence to prove their trucks are inferior because TOWING is kinda important with a truck.   • I don't like this test at all. Granted the new technology is nice but when your trailer is swaying you don't use they brake to stop it! You use the gas and accelerate to pull the trailer straight. Every see people pulls trailers on the freeway and their trailer starts to sway they use the brakes and it starts swapping even worse. Just makes me really appreciate the phrase "when in doubt throttle out".

    well even tho you dont like it... it seemed to work now didnt it? and ya putting the break to floor will deffinatly make you lose the load, but if you slowly apply it, it keeps it in control...

  • @yamaha4Llfe Oh no doubt that it worked that just means they actually did research. This truck has a lot of technology that ford did their homework on. Even if you slowy brake it will take longer to stop the sway then giving it a little throttle but then again there are situations that you can't use the gas. So maybe a combination of both will be perfect? Only time will tell I guess.

  • Nice test! I would like a test with offical reps. from Dodge and GM there to confirm the testing was fair and both trucks were driven in the same manner and loaded to the same extent.

    I love all the new Big three's diesel trucks!! All this competition just means a better and better truck for the buyer (us!!)!! I'll take one of each new 1 ton diesel!!

    Finally, if you cant load a trailer right you shouldnt be driving a 3/4-1 ton truck because you couldnt control it unloaded!! LOL...kinda..
