  • I never cry. This made me want to cry.

  • aww almost made me cry

  • Don't know why people are kidding themselves, the LFG system is much better than the previous system. You'd sit around in trade chat for an hour trying to get a tank for Scarlet Monestary, but nobody wanted to, you always ended up getting boosted through it, yeah you got free gear and exp but it was boring. It wasn't until level 60 where it was actually fun, and even then you only ever did five mans with your guild.

  • Not gonna lie was, and still am, one of the ones who still Hail LFD as one of the best things to ever happen to WoW at the stage of life it was at.

....I almost cried watching this. I remember when we used to use these things....now with the rise of Guild Levels not even the raid stones get used that much.

Surely there must be something these lonely Monoliths can do in this day and age..

  • In my experience, the LFG system has removed any sense of obligation or comradery in a dungeon. I meet some great people in the LFG system and wish I could play with them more, but I probably wont' ever see them again. I just wish there was only 1 single WoW server with ten gazillion people on it...sigh.

  • Does it all matter? Gear can be epic, friendship can be legendary .

A guy from Hungary whos misses old wow.

  • LFG was the best thing to happen to the game. You liked having to wait eight days to get a group together and MAYBE find a mage to port you all the the closest major city, then ride (on your ground mount) to the stone and wait another day for the second person to get there so you could summon? All for one run through the dungeon? No thanks. Wow has evolved for the better and is still the best mmo on the market (my opinion).

  • @Shysouth85 It's called joining a guild - you would never have those problems if you were in a guild.

  • This is as sad as the Captain Placeholder Song :(

  • first you ran 5 people to sm

then you ran 2 people to sm while the others said 'summon plz'

    now you use lfd

    pick your poison eh?

  • That was so sad with such a beautiful ending.

  • hey 1337 likes

  • Am I the only one who thinks that making it so you can fly at level 60 was a dumb idea? It was better at level 70 and I enjoyed it when it was a pain to farm (despiting the word that I used), I enjoyed grouping with other folks on Ilidan (since I play on it) and now I'm forced to group with people from servers like Cho'gall and Blackhand? That sucks.

  • The interaction was nice, but getting to Scarlet Monastery as Alliance when Horde used it as a hangout spot and heavily outnumbered you was a pain in the rear. I never spotted a dwarf with goggles that could help me during those times. :(

    But change is scary.

  • So sad, I cried. Now we just queue up with 4 other npcs that sometimes say "hi" at the start. :(

  • LFG killed the integrity of a server

  • You're gonna have to put some in for the Looking For Raid tool. Just sayin.

  • I FUCKING CRIED, FUCK YOU BLIZZARD, FUCK YOU.

  • Yep, LFG killed the World in World of Warcraft. RIP meeting stones.

  • To all you people that go way back to humping around back there. Just want to send a shout out to gamers in Sargeras, Detheroc, and Boulderfist. You guys made the game gangster.

/1 Desolace General: Roguery: LFG for Mara. PST.

    /1 Desolace Genera: Tankone: Invite.

Then it was like /who in the level range, and say sup, wanna run mara? and go on.

  • "World" of Warcraft is dead. lost 2 mil subs BEFORE Pandas were announced, lost my subscription as well. Blizzard made a mistake by making the game geared towards casual.. you're basically playing a single player game paying $15 for a chatroom.. that's not what a MMO is.. never was. WoW is truly dead, another million subs lost by February's next Activision call. 5mil+ subs lost before Pandas take over. Ask yourself, do you really play or just too lazy to cancel your sub

  • @CharliePrinceBKNY

5 Mil in China, which subscribe far differently than anyone else, which is by the hour.

Explainable with the lack of new content with Firelands.

Casual is good, because it is a game. Games are played to have fun. Fun is nice.

Still 9million more players than most mmo's.

Pandaren are from WCIII, and have been the most demanded race. They were originally going to be put in BC.

I really play, with RP, PvP, Raid and am leveling 3 more toons.

Why you so mad? Why you gotta hate?

  • @CharliePrinceBKNY 2% of guilds have done H rag that doesnt look like casual to me, and wow will never die look at everquest its still living.

  • /sigh I miss these days of when you would travel to the meeting stone with a friend and while auto running you would talk and get to know the people in your party :( now it's join a group without even saying hello and just speedrunning through as quick as you can there's no joy in that and it killed the way to make friends since even if you do get in a group of nice people you're never going to see them again :(

  • @rasenrairiki Yeah I miss that, but I don't miss the part where you could spend hours just spamming in trade chat to look for groups.

  • I promised myself I wouldn't cry.

    :'(

  • Am I the only one who thinks that they should quit making Blizzard should quit feeding the little kids who want this game to be so easy for them? The 55% of us enjoyed the old version of WoW.

  • Очень замечательная идея и исполнение на высоте. Я пустил слезу :)

  • я прослезился

  • I admit this brought tears to my eyes.

  • 1:27 f...f...f...FOREVER ALOOONE!!!

  • thats depressing, i think the piano music made this

  • Good movie, but in my experience the meeting stones were never used anyway, so the LFG tool was a blessing.

  • @TaliesinMyrddin How exactly were the meeting stones never used?

  • @sarcasticattimes It's one of those remember-what-I-see kind of things. Most of the time when I was on the server was asleep, so no one ever used the meeting stones. With the LFD application, it doesn't matter if my server is asleep, as I can find party members elsewhere.

It bugs me a little when people act like Meeting Stones were a perfect system. The LFD isn't perfect but it's better for players like me. (Not saying this video is implying either way, just some people who take it as doing so)

  • @TaliesinMyrddin LFD may have been better for you but it killed the sense that you were playing the game with a realm full of other people. It killed realm community. In short I DON"T FUCKING CARE ABOUT YOU or how convienient LFD made it for YOU to find a group. ALOT MORE PEOPLE are saddened by how unsocial wow has become.

  • @Shredow2 In my opinion, I agree with you on the fact that the meeting stones were way better. It was fun to meet new people this way and it was a unique feature. I think that the cross-realm dungeon thing has killed meeting stones though. I seriously hate doing instances with people on other servers.

  • @Shredow2 I like the part where to tried to argue about community with "I don't fucking care about you".

  • @Shredow2 Pity, you started off sounding reasonable but descended into generic fan hatred.

  • Excellent vid! Be careful what you wish for!.......... you might just get it.

LFG was such an improvement but yes WoW has become less social for it.

  • Yay for happy endings

  • Эх, аж слёзы наворачиваются ...

  • made me want to cry.

  • Classy as fuck. Had to sit back ,fold my arms, and smile. Very good indeed.

  • Forget wow.

  • I miss running out to the stones! Everyone got to know eachother during that time! Now everyone just jumps in and points fingers when something goes wrong... hardly ever talk. Many an epic battle between factions were had by those stones! Good times, man.

  • wonderful video and wonderful music, I joined at late BC and I still get a bit emotional after watching this

  • saw same thing happend too bred vendor in ironforge now he just lurks around that enormous roge for no reasone=/ but he commited suecide in the molten iron.

  • Yeah. I sniffled. Such a simple idea with a deep plot.

  • *sniff* That was a good movie :)

  • That was great. The music fit it perfectly. I loved it.

  • The music in this is wonderful :) brilliant video too :3 x

  • God, has it been that long since we spammed trade for a group then disbanded because no one wanted to walk to the BRD summoning stone?

  • i never realized it but is the symbol a 5 for 5 man dungeons?

  • @drksquee I assumed it was an S for summon since all raid stones and 5 man instances have the same shape

  • @drksquee

But the stone for MC has that same symbol.

    Still, +1 internet for you

  • @drksquee I think it's a S for Summon Stone

  • @SYNkatfish

It could be but keep in mind that the stones looked like that back when they only helped you find group members and did not summon.

  • By the gods I miss the old World of WarCraft. Sure, there's alot of the new features we think we just can't do without, but we did. We did, and were better for it.

  • as an old wowfag, it hurts to watch the game i loved so much slowly dining

  • beautiful simplicity. reminds me a bit of early charlie chaplin films

  • ;(

I still remember the times before Meeting Stones weren't used for summoning, but to place you in a very flawed LFG system... And everyone had to walk on its own to the dungeon... :(((

Blizzard has killed WoW. Many times over.

I left with my memories intact.... what about you?

  • Ahhh, memories.... Blizzard has now killed them.

  • Nice

  • so he became happy just cause he found a girl?

  • @mrvolgrim No, i assume that they both became happy as they found someone else with the same issue in 'life' and will be the odd ones out who continue to use 'out dated' things like summoning stones etc.

    Really well done.

  • awwww. so cute ; ;

  • On a par with many of the Pixar shorts for sound and story, imo. Obviously WoW's graphics don't really have oodles of potential, but nonetheless they've been used well and certainly add to the piece as a whole.

  • The LFG system took the M out of MMO

  • @spud042 Which one?

  • @spud042 which M D:?

  • @spud042 Which one?

  • @spud042 and finally let people play a game.

  • he will really hate the "Have Group Will Travel" Guild perk D:

  • @dragonforcecanada this vid was before cata i think

  • poor guy all tht work fr nothing now dam u dungeon finder i miss running crazily through zone specially while lving to get gear made it so much more worth it

  • This is a brilliant movie. Its funny because when blizzard released meeting stones and the like, they didn't know that they would be adding all of this cata content, such as LFG teleport to dungeon stuff. Meeting stones are still good for boosting that lowbie twink in your guild tho xD

  • nawwwww

  • this is the best machinima ever made...

  • Awwwwww... T-T

  • I actually remember when there were no Metting Stones to begin with....

  • Still, my most fav machinima :)

  • Wow man, that was so well done! Classy, funny, emotional without being overdone; it drew me in and in the end, had me saying "Awwwwe!!"! Very well done!!! Thank you for the truly top notch short! :D

  • Thank you for the memories.

  • Wow, that actually was really, really good.

  • Lol i wonder how that flight master dwarf felt after flying in azeroth happened.

  • 01:34 crying in the shower... :\

  • beautiful

  • =*(

  • i almost started crying at the end O.o it was just so touching how he could understand the flightmaster :3

  • i wanted that there will be some player would come alone but bah :p

  • Man, the meeting stones were like the first test to see if your group could work together! I still remember the first time I got in a group and the group leader telling me how to summon a member, then he showed up and...awww....those were the days.

  • very nice intro and anyway the whole vid is nice :)!

  • i wanna go use a summoning stone now </3 so very sad! just beautiful lovely music to accompany it perfectly

  • damnit, now i wanna go to outland and help the flight masters >.< and im proud to say im in a guild and we still use meetings stones! :D

  • Don't worry bro, me and my guildies still use your stones!

  • so awesome yet so sad. GJ

  • Very well put together. Favorited for sure :)

  • thumbs up if this suddenly made you wanna go use a meeting stone

  • @sorrowz2000 its a little private of what i am gonna use the meeting stone to;P

  • This was actually really amazing.

  • Such a touching video, great job man. On a side note I LOVE the 3 Death Knights in their BoA gear heading to Stratholme

  • Never thought I'd say this...I miss running to the stone to summon. It was a great way to make friends on your realm.

  • You see, you never give credit to the guy BEHIND the awesomeness, I mean, I´m sure they hired some goblin to make jet motors for the floating islands in Nagrand. Who tames the gryphon flightpaths? Who make sure the gates in AB opens at the same time? You never give credit to the little guy.

  • @okke1337 i agree i dont get enough credit for that...

guy who couldt pay for wow and sold his soul to blizz for game time:(

  • absolutely loved that, great work! bring back to good old days :)

  • wow , that was pritty good :'D

  • that was great, completely and utterly loved it.

  • ='''''''(

  • Excellent work, great music as well. Had a Toy Story feel to it.

  • excellent!

  • Amazing! :)

  • Amazing!

  • wow! This is good!

  • that was very good! i hope you won something for it.

  • loved it great video =]

  • Couldn't the Dwarf get a job for helping randomize the dungeos, or the flightmaster sell flying mounts that she breeds?

  • @Lozzer70 Well, Yes! Duh!?!.. But it´s the thought, Jeez..

  • what a mockery of a contest to not even give this "honerable mentions"... Seriously...

This may be my favorite WoW movie movie to date...

  • Remember seeing this a long time ago, glad to watch it again :)

  • well now that we cant Queue for the dungeons needed for the lunar achievements we using the stones again <33

  • The newspaper was about cookies or something lol

  • Amazing very touching story

  • Awww... :)

  • AWESOME! :D

  • Can i hire this guy to make a meeting stone for bastion of twilight? Love the video, really nostalgic, and genuinely made me sad til the end, perfect music, nice job!

  • TB sent me :D

  • Loved it. Having now seen it, i feel like my life would have been incomplete had I not be told of it :(

    Once again, awesome :)

  • Aww v.v Not only is the story sad, but its sad that this didn't even get an honorable mention. This was fantastic. D:

  • i remember the times of Meeting Stones i still use them for raids so please keep making them Mr. Stonecrafter :D

  • wow, this was incredibly well done!

  • Very amazing work. Great cinematography. Never thought I'd say that about game footage.

  • i still use the stones and flight masters :)

  • Wonderfully done mate!

  • Reminds me of the intro to Up, and only slightly less sad.

    Great Job!

  • I still over use flight paths, i still see epic flying speed as a effort, fuck it i use flight paths so i can go do some thing else whilst my char is being flown some where :D

  • Dont Worry Little Dwarf Buddy! I still use your Summoning Stone! T_T

  • THUMBS UP IF 4 TROLLS SEND U HERE!

  • Meh. It was alright.

  • I hate you so very much for making me sit here on the edge of crying. Only UP is allowed to do that to me!

  • this video made my computer cry he knows how it feels to be obsolete ಢ_ಢ

  • amazing job, just amazing, me being a wow player since little before bc came out, i remember when summoning stones were like the best thing ever, i mean everyone used them, it was like a way of life for pve players, but now with the LFG system, the old world seems so far away, i felt somewhat sad, great work. liked and favorited

  • we may have lfg tool but from time to time i still like clicking the stones just for the glowing effect.

  • This is very good but WTF is a LDF

  • yea 4 trolls!

  • I love this video!

When LFD just started I resented it, however I started to learn to tolerate this. Now watching this video re sparks my resentment for LFD.

  • my god i feel bad now

  • Really, really sad story (and it's even more sad that it's totally true), but a great video. Dear meeting stone crafter, I won't forget you. I promise you that I'm going to use your meeting stones again rather than clicking on a WL summon or using the LFG tool.

  • This is great. Exceptionally well executed.

  • whoaaa been a long time since I felt sad about something.... awesome video :'(

  • I miss the old time in wow.. when all used those stones..

  • this was a damn good video, honestly wow, great job :D

  • was really great

  • This is one of the few vids on youtube about WoW that actually got me teary eyed.

  • what's the sonata named?

  • Soon you will have to do one with flying mount, cause we will be able to fly in azeroth

  • @Flipperlikesdipper god you're an idiot, it's just like crying over a movie or a song, everyone does it (unless you have no real emotions well then allah have mercy on you)

  • So Sad!

  • Its true =( I MISS U SUMMONING STONES I WILL NEVER FORGET YOU!

  • repeat this song...over and over... so sad and so beutifull...

  • @kuprikow i think the song is what made it even more intense and depressing honestly

  • This is gorgeous. Well done, and thanks :-)

  • Not a word said, and yet the best machinima I've ever seen, as I told you on the WoW insider slashdance, the music does wonders and you should be proud of this machinima.
