  • @SkaalAarseth are you taking away from what was Rome,,,,,,the Legion ,, historys greatest fighting machine untill the 18th century,,,,,all nations used mercenaries,,, Rome is still all around us ,,even in Arab worlds,,,

  • @BOBBYthebrainBUNDY if you had even spend time to check the date you might even notice the video is 4 years old, maybe i was still learning to write english.

And obviously you have no clue what your own faults are.

There is a saying"People that only see the negative sides on you are the one that are afraid for their own" so quit bitching on my spell check end enjoy the friggin video THATS what i made it for, not to please noobs who are stupid enough to spend their time bitching on videos.

  • @nightblade600 Well said ...Some people only love to criticise !

  • You might want to spell check the text on any future video projects. I noted 4 errors in first 24 seconds. Don't hate on me for pointing it out, hate on yourself for posting something made to poor quality control standards. Maybe even hate on your teachers for not making you learn or not having enough common sense to put you on the short bus. If you're a self taught individual, then well... that's on you again isn't it? In that case as Capt. Kirk once said, "Double dumbass on you."

  • RTW!!!

  • les russes sont etrusques

  • Then China comes with TWICE AS MANY!!!

  • Rome total war FTW!

  • obout the romans?

  • Rome is Rome! exported the civilization to all europe .....

  • ROME TOTAL WAR

  • yeah in the middle ages knights also had swastika´s, they are not a bad thing they are associated with the germans now but back then it was a normal sign of an important family. so if you think this is shit bacause of that well thats your choice. i just made this since rome total war is one of the greatest games ever from the series.

  • @nightblade600 Nah man empire total war and shogun 2 FTW!

  • @nightblade600 The swastika was a symbol used in Norse mythology. Also coincidentally it can be found in Hinduism, and many different cultures. It's a shame fascism, made certain things taboo nowadays.

  • @nightblade600 swastika is a symbol of eternity. originated from ancient china. dont mention something if you dont know what it means

  • you got 737307 view for this? all you did was type "Rome" into google

  • @nightblade600 Swastika was used very very long ago. In ancient China, it was a symbol for 100000. Many Asians have a saying: For ten thousand years! (for the dynasty, of course). It was also a symbol of good luck. And it had many more meanings, just Google ancient swastika and you'll see what I am talking about..

  • @stefanmetodijev *10000

  • @nightblade600 swastika its ancient Greek Apollo's mark. Just google the greek word Τετρακτύς and you will see it on clothes, shield's , tembles since 5000bc in all over Greece. In America exist also , Indians , Aztecs, Mayas, had it too. So you are right. But you are wrong on you title. If you know history you know that cant compare armies with time distance. Leonidas Army, Alexander's with Julius and Cornelius Scipio army with Napoleon's or Byzantine armies. Its not right.

  • @tektamos I think you are wrong; tetractys (τετρακτύς) is not the swastika. Tetractys is a triangle made by 10 points in 4 rows: 1 point in the 1st row, 2 points in the 2nd row, 3 points in the 3rd row and 4 points in the 4th row. It was a pythagorean symbol, symbolizing the 4 elements and having a mathematical significance (since 1+2+3+4=10; 10 is the perfect number for the Pythagoreans).

The swastika was called gammadion (γαμμάδιον) or tetragammadion (τετραγαμμάδιον) by the ancient Greeks.

  • @Lhein33 Gammadion is two gamma, but 2 letters of gamma could never be a swastika. Swastika is 4 times the letter gamma = Tetractys (tetra=4) and tetractys is same like swastika which belongs of many helical or spiral symbols of Minoans, Minians and others ancient Greek clans. Νοbady knows details about Pythagoreans. Thats an opinion of Ancient Goods lovers in Greece, Communist in politics, so they found an excuce to have the swastika without be something like Nazis. But they are wrong

  • @tektamos I opened the LSJ (the best ancient greek lexicon) and it clearly says:

Τετρακτύς = The sum of the first four numbers. This is what the triangle I talked about represents. (As you possibly know, Greeks used to describe and depict algebraic truths using geometry and not algebraic symbols).

"Gammadion" doesn't mean "2 gammas" b/c -διον doens't mean 2 but "small". Gammadion means "small gamma" (cf τετράΔΙΟΝ-small τετράς). So, tetragammadion means 4 small gammas; that's what a swastika is.

  • @Lhein33 Υου doing good job in Pythagorean Math :) :) yes 1+2+3+4=10 , dion have the meaning of small too, but its also a word meaning the place of Zeus. Gamma looks like Γ so 4 of those Γ = swastika , but its a meaning after they saw the swastika. Tetraktis means also 4 rads, united makes a circle and the celtic cross. The helical, spiral Minoan symbols are 2,3000 years older than Pythagora. Mathematicians used them as they pleased. But Both we have right. If you ever go to ...

  • @Lhein33 Kreta's museum you'll see a lot swastikas on household effects before Pythagora. That time before alphabet were no Γ to call them 4gammadion. So they called them helicals, spirals some are like the sape of galaxy. Some looks like a cross(4 rads) they used to put them on fire so they start looking like celtic cross on fire so they turn out in name of tetraktis. We are not desagree, we just found a 5000 years old heritage of that symbols. You should be a teacher in Greece.

  • @nightblade600 Hey can you tell what's the first song name please?

  • @nightblade600 they werent really swatstika's they were in a different postion

  • This is shit. Romans had swastikas on their shields.

  • 1:36 best scene.

  • I was expecting a video, not a dia-show...

  • Romans paid tribute to the Roxolani (Sarmatians) - Russian ancestors.

  • Music by Rome Total War ? :)

  • Music by Rome Total War !!!

  • What was this video made for?

  • Innacurate Much?

  • Not a fancy, however an extreemly well done presentation. The music is good too.

  • The Romans got their arse handled to them by Khalid the Muslim Warrior. But overall very good fighters. THey kicked too much arse.

  • @nosupa What???? Ignorance. Did anyone ever tell you that Islam started 700 years after Christianism?

  • @sanctainquisitio Sorry i meant Roman soldiers not the religion. I am a christian.

  • @nosupa And i am telling you that no muslim ever met the romans... please.

  • @sanctainquisitio Spartans than. My bad. I get the Spartans mixed up with the Romans. im confused now man.

  • @nosupa hehe don't worry; at least you try to know historical truth, not as many other bozos on youtube that state outrageous theories about Rome and actual italians. Unfortunately, it seems that most informations about Rome are gathered from video games. :-)

  • @sanctainquisitio srry yea thats how i get my Roman info. From games. But not all of it. lol

  • @nosupa No, i didn't mean you; i was talking about some people that are talking about Rome with great arrogance, and insult you when you tell them they are wrong. Actually, i am not messing up with other countries histories, so no one should think they know better than me which mine is. But any friendly, educate conversation is always welcome. I really would like everyone to really study about the roman ideal ane spirit.

  • @sanctainquisitio o okay. Well thank you. Wish you the best man.

  • Fu

  • @BoskiLolo88 its from a game called Rome total war

  • @dthibds

    thanks

  • @BoskiLolo88 its called 'Forever" credit soundtrack of Rome Total war

  • Correction: the Romans were THE BEST military force in the world.

  • @XxToHellAndBackxX not better then the mongols

  • @superfelix20 you forget that the Romans actually did beat the pre-cursors to the Mongols: The Huns. The Huns were as good horsemen as the Mongols, as good with their bows. Pretty much the same in every way. So would the (Western) Romans have beaten the Mongols? We will never know because the Mongols came some 700 years after the fall of Rome. But they did beat the Huns.

  • @superfelix20 Um yeah they were much better than the Mongols. The Roman Empire fell way before Ghengis Khan was even born but at the peak of the Roman Empire's military power they would have wiped the Mongols off the face of the earth

  • My god, there are some muppets posting here ?

The Roman empire, east or west is slightly more complex than certain ignorant posters on here!!!

  • @69trinovante Are you honestly surprised that muppets post on YouTube? The idiocy of the average Youtube commenter is legendary.

  • music from strategy PC game Rome Total War

  • This music is from Time Commanders!!!!!!!!!!!! Does anyone know the name?

  • @OperationFoxley19441

    It's from Rome: Total War.

  • Interesting movie well done, but in the first picture it is not a Roman Legion by any means lol. They are in maximus 30 people there.

  • Rome had good technology and a big army. They won because probably most of the time they outnumbered the enemy, not because they where the best fighters. And roman armies did sometimes also lose.

  • @kaas94 The problem with Rome that they fought too many wars. Whenever there is a threat to the empire, they sent armies immediately to deal with it. As a result, they would be too exhausted to fight another enemy eventhough the first enemy was defeated. The Byzantine Empire rather chose to negotiate with them with the intention to turn them into potential allies. War was avoided whe ever possible and was only fought as a final resort.

  • @kaas94

According to senior british historian Adrian Goldsworthy, the romans were usually outnumbered. The romans usually didnt field a large army instead they`ve chosen to rely on organization, equipment and training. Large armies like that of Julius Ceasar were not the norm (not to mention that ceaser was heavily outnumbered in his campaigns).

  • @WolfganggAmadeus Caesar was actually not very often as badly outnumbered as some of his contemporaries. Lucullus faced 120,000 Pontians (Greeks in Turkey) with only 4,500 legionaries at his back. Gaius Marius lead a few tens of thousand of men to victory against quarter of a million Cimbrianii (Danes and northern Germans)...to my knowledge, Caesar never faced that kind of odds.

  • @mjohanss1975

Number stimatives for anciet battles are not be taken as exact instead its suppose to show a trend. For instance, Caesar claims to have 350.000 Gauls at Alesia with 50.000 soldiers most historians think this number is overestimated but they all agree that Caesar was heavily outnumber. I would extend this aproach for other battles as well.

Usually, the Romans were outnumbered because of the way they deployed their armies (Goldsworthy).

    Thx

  • @WolfganggAmadeus 50,000 against 350,000? From what I read, he reported that he had 100,000 soldiers at Alesia while the enemy numbered slightly more than double his number. Where did you read that he claimed he was outnumbered 7 to 1 at Alesia?

  • @mjohanss1975 Plutarco.

  • @Trulyloyale

    Thanks:D

  • wow, more than 653.000 views ....!!

    Congratulations on you nightblade600 , a big achievement x your video ....!!

  • everyone looks at lorica segmentata units , like they brought fame to rome, no it was polybian/ marian armies before Them.

  • this sucks

  • Why do the Limeys (the british) make movies and documentaries about Rome? Much worse, they are the ones doing the reenactments. The heart of the Roman Empire was in Italy, so the closest thing to how Romans actually looked like are the Italians of today, not some pale skinned Brit!!

  • @dachicagoan simply because without Rome and its empire it would not have existed in Western culture, nor the countries like the UK! The greatness of Rome was that every citizen regardless of where they could make a career was born, and even become Emperor!

  • @re1wq ahh interesting assessment

  • the romans were gay

  • @cuzcatlan36 not really , ancient greeks were gay so a minority among Roman aristocrats was bsx x some years 'cos was trendy, but they were very few , nothing comparable to gayness rate of modern centuries in speaking english countries , wasp people have even been making laws in favour of gays so their homosexuality is widely known throughout the world .....!! ))))) PPP

  • the music or the video?

  • @nightblade600

That's music from the Game ROME TOTAL WAR I can buy it for 10 Euro.

  • Romae gloria aeterna est!If you can read what i just wrote, then you are a Roman at heart.

  • @DukeOfTennessee117 Rome's eternal glory?

  • Respond to this video... Rome's glory is eternal!

  • @DukeOfTennessee117 Rome's glory is eternal

  • @HerasBoss HUZZAH!

  • Noone can do what roman army can do..

  • @belisarius30 um hannibal was quite a match though...until rome destroyed carthage many years later :/

  • They were good soldiers but the greatest empire was the British Empire so the British were the best warriors in human history but the Romans are second.

  • @TheInformalstyle Best military is America.

  • @TheInformalstyle The British knew how to conquer lands but they did not know how to keep them. I did the math once. Rome was in decline for longer then the United States was even a country. And the traditional founding of Rome was as far removed from the time of its fall as the age of Charlemagne is from us. And lets not forget that the Eastern Empire survived for a thousand years after that! That is a tough act to follow.

  • @MaximusImber The Roman Empire did not fall completely in 476AD. The empire that fell was the Western Roman Empire. The eastern half continued to survive until 1453 when Constantinople was captured by the Ottoman Turks. Historians named the empire the Byzantine Empire. But throughout its history, the population of empire called itself Romans. Even their Muslim enemies and allies called it Rum.

  • @MrLantean THE BYZANTIUM IS GREEK

  • @unfukkkmee By the 7th century, the Eastern Roman Empire started to become a Greek speaking political entity. Greek was replacing Latin as the language of the adminitration and the recording of official documents. Latin titles were being replaced by Greek ones. The Byzatine army was the heir to mighty Roman Legions with uniforms, equipment and organization being influenced by it.

  • MONGOL MONSTER BURN IN HELL.

@MrLantean SON OF WHORE READ REAL HISTORY AND LEAVE THE PROPAGANDA AGAINST, THE GREEKS. THE BYZANTINES ARE GREEKS. LOOK THE BYZANTINE ARMY ALL GREEK SOLDIERS WAS

  • @unfukkkmee You seem to have forgotten that at one time the Roman Empire ran Greece. You also seem to have forgotten the Byzantines considered themselves Romans[source below], and that the Byzantine Empire is largely a historical construct that exists only to separate the Eastern Roman empire after the fall of the West(which kicked off the medieval era) from the Empire of Classical history. To reiterate, the Byzantine Empire is just what we call the bit of Rome that existed in the Middle Ages.

  • @unfukkkmee Well the actual city, but the part of the Empire. That should be obvious, but you never know with YouTube commenters.

  • @RoyRedRob UR CLASSIC ANGLO-REPTILIAN WHO TRIES TO REMOVE, THE GREEK HISTORY.

THE ROMAN EMPIRE WAS IN WESTERN, WAS NOT IN EASTERN

  • @MaximusImber it is true that the Roman Empire lasted a very long time BUT Rome existed around a time when the geopolitical structure of the world wasn't as quick to change as the modern era where the British and USA empires existed. History progressed much faster the closer we get to modern era because of much better mass communication. The fact the British Empire lasted a 2-3 years in its era was a very impressive feat for its ERA.

  • @supersmash43 You have a point. It is amazing how many people haven't got a clue how to do simple tasks on a computer. My father can't for the life of him figure out how to attach a file to an email. And these are the people who are running the country.

  • @MaximusImber I just noticed a typo. I meant to say the " British Empire lasted a 200-300 years" rather than 2-3 years!

  • ROME TOTAL WAR SOUNDTRACKS !! yeah baby !! ;D

  • 1:40 ,that's a scene from Rome, the TV show, if you wan't to know more about the romans and your not in the mood of reading, watch Rome.

  • Does anybody know what the figure at 1:25 is from? It looks awesome.

  • Oh I like those armours.

I have got one at home :)

  • There is no way and Asian army could defeat the Romans. Some asain cultures didnt even use cav.

  • @ConsvrgoTitanvRomani The Romans were influenced by the greeks but the greeks borrowed a lot of ideas from the egyptians, phoenecians, persians etc. Cement, plumbing etc were Roman & had nothing to do w greek. The alphabet we use in western world is Roman. What lit Rome^s fire were the italic tribe the Estruscans.Eventually Italy became a special territory of Rome,a place to build her armies & conquerings. There is no historical evidence that Romans are of greek origin. Hellenas was influential indeed

  • @ConsvrgoTitanvRomani The western alphabet is Roman, not greek.Cement was a Roman invention, plumbing as well. the Greeks borrowed a lot of ideas from phoenicians, egyptians, persians etc

  • @ConsvrgoTitanvRomani The greeks borrowed a lot from the phoenicians, egyptians, persians. They also came up with their own ideas like cement, plumbing etc. The alphabet we use in the western world is Roman.

  • @sumbarine The Cement & plumbing were of Roman origin is what I meant to say

  • Roman Power over all they ruled the greatest empire of humanity so that s amazing :D

  • too bad a bunch of barbaric savages destroyed them on horses

  • Cool fight Legionnaire vs Legionnaire check it out youtube.com/watch?v=uDUqoyF357w

  • in those time is chinas army and japan military are the best but if rome and japan military meet in a battle field i would say japan will win..

  • @mattordo Chinese army was far less sofisticated than roman army of that time and speaking about Japan, at the time, was just full of tribes, nothing compared to Rome

  • actually greeks were the best soldiers x3 they took out a whole bunch of persians...Lol

and greeks can take out a roman any day...

  • @mcbmc1 Greeks were good soldiers of course, but Roman army was more disciplined and structured better.

However, it seemed that greeks couldn't take out romans any day, since they were conquered very easily

  • Nice :D

  • Nice :D

  • dont you have anything else to do?

  • @ConsvrgoTitanvRomani Dont give them any help, they already talk themselves up enough

despite doing nothing for 2000 years,

  • @ConsvrgoTitanvRomani Come on man its Greeks, a shit of a race that needs to be put in their place.

Tha audacity of the slimy kebab herders.

  • isnt rome total war great

  • Comment removed

  • Rome never died. It simply changed continents to Byzantium. Roma, the idea that is Western Civillisation put forth by Aeneas, will never die.

  • @WolfytheWolf5667 FUCKING ULTIMATE PROPAGANDIST ASS BRITISH SON OF WHORE FUCK churchils GRAVE STOP THE HATE against HELLAS.

    LISTEN NOW

    BYZANTIUM IS HELLENIC

ALL PEOPLE OF BYZANTIUM WAS HELLENES.

    Please go away.

  • please how can i find the soundtrack in this video to download it? what is the name?
