@YZB25 Well, in Florida there was a woman who happened to be a Republican in charge of overseeing the election process and the governor happened to be GW's brother. It just so happened that there were votes from the elderly and the black community that were rendered invalid. This woman, following Bush's appointment to the Presidency, "won" a place in Congress.

The war in Iraq had many purposes. Some noble, some insidious. First was to frighten any potential enemy by showing our military prowess. Second was to enrich the military-industrial complex which now includes mercenary armies based in the US which may someday come to threaten our republic. The third reason is to establish a forward operating base in the Middle East. In my opinion, this is colonialism. US should not be an empire. The war also drove up our national debt, the end of all empires.

No, that's not true. The President was privy to far more in-depth intelligence than were the people you mentioned. Bush's job was to honestly communicate the relevant points in order to make his case for war. He failed on a number of grounds. We were led into a war of his choosing, not a war that benefits the United States of America.

I was in the Air Force working at NSA at the time. You would not believe the propaganda. Also, I was younger and niave and didn't know the existance of other information sources that I know of today. Ironically, the candidate I support today, Ron Paul, doesn't seem to have much of a chance even though he is what this nation needs.

Just an example of some modern day propaganda. Bumper stickers that say God Bless America. As if God being the creator of the whole world and every living being in it would somehow choose to bless certain countries. Anything that strives to enforce the idea of patriotism with out earning it is a tool of propaganda. Support our troops would be another propaganda tactic.
