I wouldn't describe this as flamenco, but more of a classical/ baroque type acoustic piece played in a phrygian scale. The rhythm doesn't feel like flamenco. That's just my opinion though.

@turnbacktime I think there's a little more to it then that. You can put nylon strings on a Folk acoustic guitar, that doesn't make it a classical guitar. Mostly it has to do with the size and shape of the whole guitar. Usually classical guitars are much smaller in size with a wide body and a wide neck. The difference is easy to see. In this video it's obvious that he's using a classical guitar (which is still a form of acoustic guitar) just by looking at it's shape and size.

Well.. first of all it was an improvised piece so he had no time to think about the notes and what not.. unlike this piece by Paul Gilbert where he actually WROTE the piece, not improvised... So, Paul Gilbert WROTE an amazing piece.. While Malmsteen IMPROVISED an amazing acoustic piece.. I have no idea why you're even comparing both videos...

@shadowfall33 It's more of classical scales and stuff, it's nothing compared to what Flamenco can actually be, if you listen carefully, you can hear all the scales and everything he plays is classical teaching, but his strumming makes it sound a bit like Flamenco but still even his strumming isn't a great achievement, although I did enjoy as it is, you should check out some real Flamenco players_(The Good Ones By The Way)_ and you will be astonished by the difference...
