  • you're amazing sir :D <3 I have 6 budgies and a 4 week old baby :D I am trying to train the baby pls teach me how to do that? :D

  • @sayounara1232 Creating a feeling of love and empathy and intentionally projecting that to the bird is a good start, as is mimicking the preening its mother would do in the nest. There are other videos, not necessarily budgies, where I calm birds and give more details of my intent .

  • my budgie is bout 4-5 months old i got him 3rddecember 2011 he still wont step up, i always hand feed and pet him 2nd or 3rd day i got him he stepped up but after that he didnt :(

  • @chrisy3579 I'm sorry I haven't a one or two line answer. If you want my personalised advice please use gold coast bird vet dotcom and also enjoy budgie health dotcom

  • Read relevant sections of my book "Caring for Birds with Love and Gratitude" via my main albeit ancient website DrRossPerry com au . You have missed the easy period for taming at 6-10 weeks of age. You might have to temporarily put a loop of masking tape around the terminal flight feathers of both wings for a few days and then carry him around with you, spend heaps of time with him walking on you when you are sitting down on something very soft so he can't hurt himself if he tries to fly .

  • my budgie is 18 weeks old and wont even get on my finger what should i do

  • @milesstone16 try doing his favourite food on ur hand and lure him ^^ and cuddle him under his beak

  • @milesstone16 Start by just hanging out with the bird. Sit near his cage and just talk to him. Once he is used to your presence start offering him treats so he has a positive feel for your hands. Then start puting your hand in his cage, he will freak out, you are invading his space now. Keep offering him treats and he will become more receptive. The key is to NEVER approach your bird with an open hand. To budgies, our hands can look like huge predatory claws.

  • Cute.

  • Hi Joolls! Two little Embodiements of Love called Bodhi and Bacci and a considerably bigger one know to some as Iti Wei have helped remind me of a lot about the power of love that flows through all of us and that is open to all of us with grace. I learnt budgie taming while very young, my first pet was a male budgie called "Butch"! It took me about 50 years to discover that I could calm a bird and about another 4 years to discover I can often calm budgies.

  • Lovely. Beautiful to watch and you make it look all so easy. Beautful baby too.
