  • damn "I'll be outside, good luck." i'd shit my pants.

  • does anyone maby know the name of that background soundtrack ? 0:16 - 1:03

  • This is the valor and bravery that most american soldiers have for the man next to them. It's about a brotherhood and most people or other countries just can't comprehend this. This is what seperates the american soldier from others. I can say this because i have been a marine for 17 years now and i have SEEN IT on the battlefield!! The american soldier is 2nd to nobody. These men are warriors and their training is the best. This is why our military is feared simply put!

  • This is my favorite scene from ANY movie ive ever seen. NOTHING will ever be as epic as this

  • ''Wheres the rescue squad?''

    ''Were it.''

    Favorite line.

  • @saburocks101 the difference is tha tha a3 has a removabale carring handle

  • 4:27 to 5:05 is the saddest thing ive ever seen.

  • angels from the chopper

  • @ FBX100 they used m16a3's not a2's

  • Is there really an M16A3? I thought there was only the M16A1, M16A2, and the M16A4. The one Randy was using sure looked like an M16A2. But that's just me.

  • @Saburocks101 Randy was using an M-14 and Gary was using a Car-15. The first one that died was Gary

  • @Sierra117Hunter, yeah, I know that. Lol!

  • @Sierra117Hunter actually randy died first because he got shot in the head.

  • @dragonboy445 For one thing the guy who played Gordon in the movie was the one that got shot in the head which is untrue to the true story cause he didn't get shot in the head, You believe everything you watch in movies? In real life Shughart had the M-14 and Gordon had the CAR-15. Watch the Michael Durant interviews it will clear things up for you

  • @Sierra117Hunter i did,thank u and sorry.

  • @dragonboy445 No prob, sorry for being an ass, it wasn't my place

  • they killed like 40 people awsome. if two guys mainly and a pilot could do that

  • at 3:15 the M14 magaically changes into an M16A2, but changes back after? and no, he didnt take it from the dead pilot, as they carry mp5's. maybe dead passenger?

  • maybe from a dead somolian they might have took it from a dead GI

  • they both had an M16A2, Gordons one is visible at 3:44, Shugarts at 3:28 and 3:41...from what i understand the crew chiefs had M16A2s stored on the chopper. Durrant has said that Shugart asked him where the spare weapons were on the Black Hawk.

  • @GibboSASR Thx for clearing that up gibbo :)

  • @FBX100 no problem mate..btw after re-reading a specific part in Durrants book, it said the crew chiefs M16s were stored between their seats

  • @GibboSASR I might have to go and get that book now.... thx again

  • Gary and Randy Heros

  • these somalis are animals

  • @blairmcian I Agree, Anyone in that crowed around the Chopper in my opinion was a terrorist. not some civilian trying to get away. I would had just aimed into the crowd and gotten head shots on anyone them.

  • @blairmcian Monkeys with guns

  • @blairmcian fucken monkeys with guns

  • these guys are great

  • 4:34 saddest moment..

  • couldn't the same chopper that gordon adn shighart in extracted them

  • cant risk another bird

  • LZ too hot, see the amount of enemies there?

  • too hot for that. they wanted to stay till ground support made it.

  • @callofdutyguy9 actually a little bird landed 400 odd meters from the downed chopper, but could not stay cos they were taking too much fire.

  • @GibboSASR I think you mean Cause not cos

  • @Sierra117Hunter no i mean cos

  • I'm not sure if I truly understand this story because I've never seen it and I'm not american but why did they send a raid when they could have dropped a bomb or something.

  • imperialmodder: 300 000 people in somalia died of starvation because of war between different clans. The US sent soldiers to Somalia to stop the the civil war and capture the warlord Mohammed Ferrah Aidid and his men. If they had dropped a bomb over Mogadishu, then just more civilians would have died.

  • True heroes. Selflessly gave their lives saving a man they probably didn't even know. They knew their duty and they did their jobs flawlessly. I know I certainly couldn't have done what they did.

  • There's a reason why these two men are the only two to have received a Medal of Honor since Nam. Acts of such bravery and selflessness are so rare these days, RIP Gordan and Shugart

  • a friend of my mine it turns gary gordon is his uncle he showed me on his family tree true hes even my friend on youtube

  • Actually, there have been 6 more MOH's awarded.

  • actually, if anyone read the book by Mark Bowden the little birds did strafing runs all day throughout the battle if u see in the movie you can see little birds coming down for a short second and leaving, but mini guns are electrically powered by the helicopter soo they would have to start the heli, but i dont think it would work, but overall these guys are true heroes, i try to live by there example friends come first no matter what.

  • Even if the miniguns worked they wouldnt have used them because they would have ended up mowing down hundreds of civilians.

Hence why they had no aerial support through miniguns, and also they werent allowed to risk more chops.

  • what a brainwashed retard to you have to be to see this stupid action as "heroic"? they had families at home and made no difference except killing alot of somalis. the pilot still got captured and was released later on. im sure the kids which have to grow up without a father see this piece of metal. upside down pentagram/medal of honour as adequate replacement lol

  • Im sure that the kids will see in time that what their fathers did was out of love. Mike Durant had a family too. Gordon and Shugart gave their last full measure of sacrifice to make sure that Durant saw his family again, though they knew they might not see their own. Clearly self-less love for another is a concept that you will never wrap your small intellect around.

  • im sure your just jelouse that you can never do anything as beautiful as this you selfless prick. what they did took courage and they probably knew that they were gonna die but they wanted to help their mate get back alive.

  • and they suceeded.....heroes

  • They died with honour

  • oh my God. Really? do you think that they would want to hear that? do you think their families want to hear that? do you think that Durant would want to hear that? Hell I don't want to hear that because they are Heroes and you should be ashamed.

  • real hero

  • the really heart breaking thing is that the bodies of randy shughart and gary gordon were draged around mogadishu behind a truck

  • yes, it was enraging, but the body is just a shell. their souls were already being welcomed into heaven by the almighty.

  • i die a little every time i watch this scene

  • those men should be role models to each and everyone of us, may they rest in peace... those damn somalis...what kind of animals could do that? 2 vs 100+ and after they killed them they stripped 'em... what a bunch of ball less animals.

  • does anyone know whats the name of the song in the background?

  • fuckin' sad what happened to them; they were fuckin' awesome for what they did; two people, died trying to save a pilot...dude...they have balls...no fuckin' doubt!

  • shughart: M21 sniper with acog scope or m14 assault with red dot sight or acog scope

  • no, shugart was using an M-14, I'm pretty sure. You could be right about the ACOG. But I see what you might be thinking. And I think that was an M16 that he grabbed form the crash.

  • my dad was in delta and good friends with both them, i asked the same question and he told me that they carrie both weapons their primary being the m4 not the m16 and the m14 and a secondary weapon

  • Mo back they did have any M4's they had M733's and 727s as well as model 653's which were all early varients of the m4 carbine. There are a couple more but I don't feel like listing them.

  • No, the used Colt Comandoes...

  • Dude, ask him if people gave Shugart a hard time for using an M14...

    Please!!!

  • M21

  • Nah, it was a Veitnam Style M14....

  • In the fire fight sequence Shughart starts with an M-14 then during the fire fight

lifts what looks like an M-16.Anyone else

    notice that ?

  • it was probably a gun from the helicopter crash. they were runnin low on ammo so any gun they could get their hands on they fought with.

  • Yep.

  • It did cross my mind the M-16 was in the Blackhawk or this is a blooper that got past editing

  • No, it was in the chopper at the crash.

  • So what you say fucking heroes ! Really heroes its good !

  • TWO FUCKING HEROES!

  • No fuck YOU !! Burn Stupid Boy

  • stupid connard i was sayng that they was brave....u didnt understand..

  • What you say "Fucking "

  • fucking for say "a lot" or "really"

  • i salute those brave soilders R.I.P both of them and they deserve a medal of honor

  • its good u think that cuz they did get medal of honors

  • Poor Randy.....Died very poorly with at least 10 pistol shots, few AK shots~

  • I'm not disrespecting these guys, I'm very patriotic, but they are here fighting thousands of Somalis because of Bill Clinton, who is probably humping some lady during this time.

  • well it was actually my step-dad sorry lol

  • Company of heroes and black hawkd down are good books i recommend them!..n I got to talk to clay othic about the incident since he lives close to me in kansas which is wichita but i live in salina n my dad was a Ranger that served with struecker mcknight pilla schilling thomas all of them but was never injured

  • BTW these group of people have a name... they're called liberals

  • No!!!!Their called,"Al-Quida!!!!"

  • or both lol, they're all against true traditional American morals and values.

  • This is in Africa, not Afghanistan. And it's spelled Al Qaeda.

  • I think I know where Mogadishu, Somalia is.

  • It is a real shame of what some americans have become. Im a sophmore in high school and the school systems make me want to spit with what they tell us. They tell us that the United States military is nothing but a oppresive group bent on killing. These people who say and beleive it should go at least talk to a soldier and see they fight for each other and their country. These men are the bravest men i have ever heard of and the fact people say they did this for the sake of killing is obserb. GBA

  • greenspud-

as someone who's been there and done that let me simply say that shit is far more complex than you will comprehend for another decade or two.

being against a war or a pacifist does not equate to disrespecting those who serve.

having received my DD214 prior to Clinton's Mog adventure but personally knowing some who participated, i was against the risking of American lives then as I am now-- particularly when the objectives and benefits are as unclear as the exit strategy.

    lift a glass

  • no disrespect, but i think Green Spud is trying to say that you guys (especially after what happened in Haditha in 2006) get potrayed as blood thirsty animals by the press.I don't think you guys especially since I know a lot of guys in the SEAL teams and one in Force Recon. I also definetly agree that it's more complicated than it sounds or looks

  • youre kidding right?! its gotten THAT bad? let me say god bless you sir for not being brainwashed like the majority of your classmates are im sure. You can that the liberal media & teachers for that. And its only going to get worse when Obama gets in. They are destroying the true traditional American morals and values. Things like honor, duty, commitment, sacrifice. and thats what they mean by CHANGE. But I know one damn thing, the day they try and come get my guns is the day I go down fightin'!

  • n where were the ground support? why the fuck did it take so long?! Shouldnt they have it on standby in unforseen circumstances?? I'm sorry i'm no military person, but if u want to honor the men that died, i think the military need to reveiw what happend n make sure this doesnt happen to the troops again. Honour the fallan, by helping those who serve now DAMNIT!

  • They Politicians in Washington had voted against giving Task Force Ranger (thats the whole task force deployed to Somailia) armored personnel carriers and tanks. So the covoy only had lightly armored HUMVEES and 5 to trucks. The convoy got shot to pieces and had to return to base before they could go back out. Read "In the Company of Heroes"

  • they didn't tell many people cause it was only supposed to take thirty minutes, and the humvee convoy was hit by so many RPG's that if they showed up they would have caused more harm than good.

  • Do you think Randy Shugart actually got shot that many times?

  • Is that an M68 Red Dot on SFC Shugharts weapon? Lil odd for the character he's portraying.

  • They're in an urban environment. Nothing more than a red dot would be needed. Although it is a little weird seeing that he is using an M21.

  • I understand that. I was just thinking of if your serving as a sniper from an airborne platform you would need some kind of magnification, I just thought that he would have a different optic thats all. For shooters a red dot or an EOTech is fine, but not for a sniper. Food for thought. Take care.

  • this is a true story dumbass!

1993, do your homework before you say dumb stuff

  • just a young punk ass who couldent even get into the boy scouts.

  • a. its far from boring

    b. show some respect for the young men that died that day, you're just one of those idiot punks that thinks unrealistic extreme violence is cool, go to hell dude, this movie paid honor, respect, and tribute to those soldiers

  • The Hearts of Lions.

  • Man they were brave, courages and an inspiration they fought 2 the death, Delta force r badass

  • yea man it takes balls to do this when faced with alot of guys that wanna slit your throat. but then again these boys are delta- some of the toughest badasses in the military

  • fuck the skinnys

  • i read in the book, tht they died great americans, and tht we lost about 18 men tht day, we could have saved these 2 great perople if only the Secretary of Defense allowed us to bring in the armored vehichles task force rangers asked for (like a tank)

  • sad when randy dies

  • where are gary and randy buried?

  • These guys are the bravest guys there are

  • I knew randy, my father was friends with him. He is my inspirational hero to go like that when u no you are gonna die. I dont think anyoen here would do it

  • i wish i knew Gary Gordon, he would of been the biggest inspiration ever! but i would be like 1 by the time he died D:

  • jamie smith came from my town he went to the same chruch as my family and every once in a while my parents would say hi to his parents.

  • they should have taken the fucking mini gun from the helo and spray everyone.

  • mini guns on the chopper only work when the chopper is at least hovering over the ground(when the choppper is in flight) so when i crasehed the mini guns went offline

  • your rite, and it sucked tht they were the only ones tht volunteered to go D:

  • They shouldn`t link the miniguns with the chopper, I hope US army have solved this problem and put independent miniguns in the moderms combat helo's : )

  • First off this is a movie. second off, this is based 16 years ago

  • it's a safety thing so some jack-ass JROTC can't play with them during down time

  • blame clinton, we should have had ac130 gunships and leveled that damn city. we did not have the proper air support on that day.

  • its sad how they died but they earned the MoH and they shouldve earned more. they knew they wouldnt have made it out but they still went in

  • dude MoH is as high as it gets, if they recive more then that its just for show.

  • Im proud to be a Gordon like him. He did our family proud. Its a shame Im not directly related to him but it still runs in our genes.

  • HooYah/OohRah/HooAhh (SEALs, Marine Corps, Army, respectively) to these two Delta boys for what they did that day.

According to Dick Couch, the SEALs learned a heck of a lot about urban warfare from the Rangers and Delta Force during the battle of the Mog. Before that they were basing their tactics on WWII, Korea, Vietnam, and various spe ops missions, but '93 helped them prepare for the war in Iraq and Afghanistan.

It's unfortunate the M-134 only works when the UH-60 is working... =(

  • Well 4 SEALs were actually there during the mission... so they sort of learned for them selves as well.

  • i am just wonderin.. but the mini gun must have been damaged or something or else they would have used it

  • Again. The minigun is dependent on the power outage of the Blackhawk. So the helicopter has to be operational and running to use the miniguns.

  • by the way, your mother isnt that bad^^

  • haha you pissant be polighte, have you ever ben in military or war? if not shut the fuck up you fucking computer chicken and open your cocksucking mouth that belongs to that gay face somewhere else

    Thank you

  • capnhans you moron US has a lot of drug and sex addicts and criminals like every other country so dont tell such bullshit, still Military of U.S had a lot of heros and i really respect that..at least they do Something not like..EU ,US neurtalized saddam, they helped in somalia..and who know whos iran gonna be...

  • my dad was friends with Randy Shugart...but not Gary...n i got to meet with Michael J. Durant n he said he doesnt know how these two were killed like if Gordon was shot n the head or if Shugart took 13 bullets ...but these two are outstanding remarkable soldiers n will never be forgotten

  • I can't believe they mutilated their bodies...

  • they got their body back piece by piece..

God these two guys are real soldiers

  • i think whoever posted the video should get rid of the anti u.s. comments in respect for these two soldiers.

  • Two men risked there live to save a mans life and all you can says is USA sucks. I met Demark Suolders in Afganistan and they were good men. not a Ignorant Morron like you.

  • The cocksucker probly could not get in the army cause he was too retarded or a chickenshit who would crap his pants and cry for his mama when confronted by the enemy instead of fighting to the last breath like Shughart and Gordon

  • well if you think tat then you sould be put into the same situation. . . then we could all watch you be a fucking coward. you aren't shit. By the way your mom sold you for a hit on a crack pipe.

  • this is to RichieLocks

  • I sense jealousy

  • heatonpwnz..burn in hell you basterd wtf gives you the right to say that you fat fuk....WTF is wrong with you....i hope you die

  • He's just jealous cause Denmark has never had heros like Gordon and Shughart. They would rather smoke dope and have sex with young boys.

  • asshole well these to dont

I bet your a fatass and couldnt get in the rangers in the first place

and would be to scared and a pussy to go in there

  • Wht im trying to say is heatonpwnz and Richie Locks are gay

    These two men are Heores

  • fuck your family u fucking. by the way, your mom is a cock-juggling thunder cunt

  • Thunder cunt? That's one for the dictionaries!

  • so does Denmark, are you mad because the U.S. would soundly defeat Denmark in any type of conflict

  • durant was knocked out by the butt of a gun in the film,in real life it was with the HACKED OFF arm of his crew chief(READ DURANTS BOOK)these ppl were fuckin animals,a shame only a1000 died,if eva there was a case for a nuke....

  • The bodies of the crew and Shughart & Gordon were so desecrated by the time the Americans got them back that family and friends could not recognize them.

  • It never really says what happened to the copilot of the chopper and the two gunners.

  • They all died. Not all of them were killed in the crash. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm fairly sure the crew chiefs(gunners) died after Gordon and Shugart arrived.

  • the co pilot was defending off the somalis with shugart and gordon, the crew chief couldnt fight, his legs were messed up, and durant was against a tree next to the black hawk. its all in the book

  • Ok, i got it, in the book, Shughart asked Durant for the M-16's that were in the chopper after he ran out of his own ammo.

  • is the book good? and whic ones?

  • the book is really good, theres the original black hawk down a story of modern war, in company of heros written by mike durant and the battle of Mogadishu written by matt eversman

  • Respect

  • didnt it ever occour to them to pick up the ak's the somolians dropped?, i mean if you know u only have 75 bullets each, wouldnt it be smart to constanly think about getting more ammo??

  • well considering that if they ran out to cover for even a second, they wouldve gotten lit up. plus they were killed before they ran out of ammo

  • Yeah, although they were running low on ammo, they also had the two crew chiefs M16's and the pilots and co-pilots MP5's.

  • true...but still takes a lot of damn courage to do something like that and your mind would be racing fast as hell if you were put into that sort of a situation.

  • favorite line: "Wheres the rescue squad?"

    "Were it"

  • Must have so much will and courage to step down onto streets with a mate and only have about 75 bullets each. And be agaisnt raging somalians with ak's at close range. Apremtly they took out over 100. But ran out of ammo and got shot.

    Hoah medal of honour.

  • the first Medals of Honor after Vietnam. HOOAH

  • Randy and Gary, took out over 100 somalians before they got taken out. They ran out of ammo and had now last resort.

  • thats so sad

  • Friendlies!

God, it's good to see you

It's good to see you. How bad?!

--I remember watching this movie over and over before high school paintball games back in the day. True heroes.

  • brave men risking their lives to save him when they knew they were going to die fucking heros go usa

  • It just goes to show the difference between Delta Force and any other unit in the world
