  • my most played record by the intruders

  • Gamble & Huff.... what a duo. These guys cranked out some awesome tunes. And Sonny was the "man" to follow it through.

  • damn,,, why wasnt a teenager around these good ole days...

  • @MsLotusFloWer159 i was born in 93 and grew up listening to music, and i prefer this kind of music instead of the music now.....and i always fantasize being alive when these songs were coming out

  • @HoneyBuns221 literally lmao,,, when i was a lil' kid growin up in the 70's i use to say the exact same thing to my pop always loved the 60's, 70's 80's some 90's music, but the buck stops in the 90's......lol! and one of my daughters was born in 93 too.

  • yes it is!!!!!

  • Old School Philly Soul... For whatever ails ya... Thanks for posting !!

  • three strikes ur out whether u win or loose

  • Saw them at the Uptown in 1967. Little Sonny lived one block from me . I lived on michener st and he lived on temple rd. in Mt. Airy in Philly. Great guy but lotta heartache. I saw them lay tracks for "united" ,their hit in 1966 at philly Intl. records w kenny Gamble and Leon Huff

  • The first time I heard this song was on a plane coming home from Vietnam Very sweet memories.

  • RIP Lil Sonny and Bird ! Your songs will live on ! Thank God for the Intruders music I will always love them!

  • lol. my freind use 2 make fun o this song

  • I love this song

  • WHOEVER SAID SINGERS TODAY HAVE NO SOUL ARE FOOLISH. AND LIMITED, AND HAVE NEVER EVIDENTLY BEEN TO A BLACK CHURCH.

MUSIC CORPORATIONS WANT JUNK, THEY CANT steal from Blacks as Easily, so they push Rap, and Hip Hop, and chaos for easy fast Money. BLACKS DO NOT COME AS SO EASY TO STEAL FROM. AND THEY WANT EASY THIEVES.

EVEN RAPPERS, ARE QUICK MILLIONAIRES, BUT THEY are easier to negoitiate with. Then Those who know they have Real soulful Voices.

  • @CalypieAndroid modern black music is absolute SHIT!!!!! so go and fuck your self -frpm a blackman in England

  • @SIRGALAHADful maybe modern u.k black music lol

  • @SIRGALAHADful As you said you are in England , you are not aware of what is really going on in Black American community. There are plenty of great singers making great music, they don't get media attention. as CalypieAndroid said these clowns passing as singers are mere talentless puppets.

  • @luvureally hi ! can you say me a few names ,pleace ! i love soulmusic and look always 4 songs i don't know !

thx and best wishes from vancouver ! peace !

  • @TonyNuke Raphael Saadiq, Calvin Richardson, N'Dambi, Ledisi, Bilal, K. Lipsey, Anthony Hamilton, Monica Blaire, Maxwell, Chrisette Michele, Leela James, Angie Stone, Sir Charles Jones, Cody Chestnut, Lyfe Jennings come to mind.

  • @luvureally thx a lot i will lisend to all of this when i come from work ! thx

and hope you have a nice day ! peace !

  • @CalypieAndroid So true.

  • THIS SONG WAS SUPERBLY WRITTEN BY GAMBLE & HUFF & WITH THAT GREAT HARMONY OF THE INTRUDERS IT BACAME A CLASSIC. ONE OF MY ALL-TIME FAVORITES.

  • @funkeemuzikluvr God Bless Kenny Gamble and Leon Huff they gave us so much-Musical Genius-What a wonderful time period-i was 13 when this song came out

  • Growing up in Houston, Texas, this song was very popular. The album "Cowboys to Girls" was great!

  • I love this band ! The lead singer has so much soul it hurts !

  • @MIMI88998899 AND WHAT I DONT UNDERSTAND IS WHY THE BLACK SINGERS ARE ALLOWING IT......IN THE 5OS 60S 70S THERE WAS MORE RACISM...BUT MORE SOUL MUSIC...TODAY....LESS RACISM AND WHITEWASHED MUSIC...DOESNT MAKE SENSE...THE MUSIC INDUSTRY SUCKS TODAY AND WILL ALWAYS SUCK..

  • @XXXXLOWRIDERXXXX

I agree with you but you know what? "white" music sucks too! Everything is more "corporatized" now; there are fewer choices in everything and I just think it's all about the money. Very cynical. It shows utter contempt for the consumer, the audience. "Here's something stupid, it was cheap to make, now go out and buy it!"

  • @XXXXLOWRIDERXXXX i dont think you are in any position to critique modern black music

i mean, mexicans have never made music worth listening to lol

  • @BlacknesUnforgivable WELL....I DID...LOL...

  • LOVE IT!

  • Love this old song ,so very true

  • Low Rider - you are 100% absolutely right. True Soul is

a thing of the past. Too bad the kids today missed out

on all the great songs and groups of that era.

  • SORRY. BUT SOUL MUSIC DOES NOT EXSIST TODAY... MUSIC SUCKS TODAY... NO MORE SOUL OR FUNK...LADY CACA AND BEYONCE MAKING MILLIONS ON GARBAGE MUSIC...UUUGGGHHH...WTF IS THIS WORLD COMING TOO... LUV THE INTRUDERS.....NOW THIS IS SOUL....

  • @XXXXLOWRIDERXXXX

THE SINGERS TODAY HAVE NO SOUL, NO PASSION AND JUST CAN'T SING.

TO ME THEY ALL SOUND THE SAME. RIHANNA, BEYONCE, THAT GA GA LADY, ALL OF THEM SOUND ALIKE. I CAN'T TELL THE DIFFERENCE.

THEY HAVE TAKEN THE SOUL OUT OF SINGING. THE MUSIC IS GENERIC.

THANK GOD FOR GROUPS LIKE THE INTRUDERS.

THANK GOD I KNOW WHAT REAL SOUL R&B MUSIC IS.

  • @XXXXLOWRIDERXXXX listen to aloe blacc.....maybe a SMALL lifeline in soul music nowadays...maybe....

  • 13 YEARS WHEN THIS SONG CAME OUT 1968

  • outstanding, by far one of my favorites.

  • I had the chance to work with the intruders, not all oringinal but I worked with Mr Bobby Star, Mr Glenn Montomery, Mr Phillip Gaye and Larry Williams, you guys are the best.

  • This was the follow-up to the top 10 smash "Cowboys to Girls" in the summer 1968. I feel this song is best remembered today for being included on the well known compilation CD "Baseball's Greatest Hits".

  • Surprised no comments, as anything sung by the Intruders is worth our comments.

Anything tgysing is magical, what a shame that my generation of today , do not know of this great music. Magical

    Peacee & Love

  • now this is where it's at....staying true to the old school!!!!

  • Intruders are perhaps the most underestimated soul group of all times.

  • It is like a baseball! Love it

  • When did this song come out?

  • Wow was that great.

Any new R&B music anything close to this?

  • rip samuel (lil sonny) brown

  • yea i feel u man alot of da new music iz a copy of the classics can't come ^ with their own style

  • delfonics and the intruders defined the PHILLY SOUND.

  • The Intruders were sexy, classy and smooth. Wish they would make music and sing like this, at least to carry on a legacy that R&B and Soul really existed, I mean for real and not just on plastic, but real live now in 2010. You can have modernized music it's too fake. Don't mean to offend anybody but once you change it, it is not the same,be creative and come up with your own.

  • Man where are the groups like this anymore. Nowadays everything is all ghetto'd out.

  • so now we label music ghetto out lmao

  • @bigdanish78 I understand what you're saying; but most of them are deceased, and it's the next generations turn. Every era has it's hey-day.

  • THATS RIGHT 3 STRIKES U OUT!!!!

  • listen ! that was a diffrent time , all that that new crap crabbing your ball no class at all . harmony this country f up now ..

  • You summed up everything man ^_^

  • LOS NITE OWLS de la BASSETT GRANDE . CALIFAS [SUR].

  • sonny is phillies fan now

  • go phillies baby, sonny is our good luck charm this year.!!!!fuck da yankees

  • Oooooooooh the gap stole the cowboy look lol. I'm having so much fun with these songs. My first love, hanging out at the park, pool hall(outside of it of course lol) simple things made us so happy.

  • Please Kanye DON'T sample this song or anything else like this...Come up with you own music for a change...Jackass.

  • yuck.

  • dont listen to him then....if it wasnt for dj's and sample artists alot of people wouldnt know these bands....sampling is a style of music making...some like to use a piano some like to use an mpc...when you sample you are making a collage not of pictuers but sound...you need to see someone make a sample its realy quit amazing

  • Sampling is cool, in fact we have an MPC machine here, but I DON'T like when folks like Kanye call them selves producers, hey when you sample most of the work was done already. I like the art of sampling but wen these guys call themselves "producers" it bugs me. Today we live in a beat and "producer" driven world. We have no more Composers like Quincy, Stevie, Barry W, and Herbie.

Noice they are NO black Bands anymore...Sampling too much limits creation of new original music.

  • the only thing i hate about so called producers is people like timberland and kanye west that say they actully made that song from nothing....but i like sampling tho.... i see my self as nothing more than an mp3 DJ i never claim to make the song.. just modernize it to fit todays needs....i will never be like the graits....the best producer of all time is barry white he was a one man production company all on his own

  • Please bring back men that sing like this....ill do anything you say baby just be our men agin !!!!!

  • There a lot of impostors groups out there. However, the music still sounds great.

  • Need to be sure their aren't impostors on the circuits today who damaging the name and the real performers ( who may or may not be alive today).

    'Maria

  • Little Sonny and the Intruders are Real players. Groups such as the Intruders will never happen again. The young generation might want to take a look at real talk Rap-from the intruders and not the non-structured/nonsense of present day rap(noise)!

    Player Player--77dcarter

  • True Philly genius! I am fantasizing about a gigantic cheesesteak as we speak! Delicioso!
