Hey folks. I love Edge and think and think he's a helluva guitarist but does anyone else think his sound at 1:11 just ain't right here. It's WAY too harsh for this arrangement. What you think?
I have been a u2 fan for a few years now and i've really come to love them. I have all their albums (originals and remasters) I have seen all their dvd's and they are a brilliant band but i have to say this concert was such a dissapointment because it was'nt what i was expecting!
I stood in a queue the whole day and saw the best rock show in my life. I was in the 2nd row and paid 59.80 EUR. I think it was worth every cent. By the way, The Unforgettable Fire is one of the most inspiring songs ever written.
The show was very good, I had tickets in the club level. Would have been much better except for the idiots around me that seemed to be there just to say they were there and kept yapping and getting up to buy beer every other song. I paid good money but could not enjoy it for all the fools around me.
The tickets for this concert were a rip off. I bought the most expensive one's thinking I would be close 2 the stage which I wasnt, I was in the hogan stand. For the price I paid I expected 2 get up closer but instead was miles away. I found out that their was people on the pitch who paid only half the price that I did and got alot closer, this doesnt make sense. Did I pay double just for my seat! U2 charge away too much for thier tickets and rip people off!!!
just goes to prove the ordinary working man who cant pay top dollor gets as good a chance of a good view as a parisite who thinks paying more for a nice comfy seat (that you shouldnt be sat down in by the way)is the way to go.
hope you dont go for next concert tickets then us mere mortals will have a better chance of seeing the greatest band in the world.
As you know U2 can't possibly make all this noise. Lot's of keyboard and prerecorded tracks. Just like in the studio when you work with multiple tracks and overdubs. But sounds good
Don't understand your name calling. Listen. When you see the Edge going over to the keyboards and hits buttons on the keyboard then walks away from it and there are noises going on other than from the bass, drums and guitar. It's called pre-recorded music. It's o.k., because they do alot of stuff in the studio that they can't all do on stage. So what's going to make these sounds in concert. And to you I've seen them on every tour since the Boy. So I know a little.
Haha, that's what I was gonna say, sounds almost *too* good, but if you look at the crowd reaction you can tell it's likely not. Plus they're a good distance from the stage which means they wouldn't get the ugly distortion and feedback that is so common with these bootleg recordings.
The Unforgettable Fire, such a breathtaking and layered work of genius... They're sounding so good, why haven't they played it for all these years ?
Perhaps its because they're not trying "break this picture" (as Bono once put it). And as a result we are reminded what a powerful musical edifice The Unforgettable Fire was, and is.
excellent if they played WIRE after this even Indian summer sky would be stuning!!! great they brought back the unforgettable fire after all the years
I have so badly missed this song from their live sets since they dropped it years ago but the smile on my face again when the intro came in...ah breathtaking. It's one of their most atmospheric songs and working with Brian Eno who in my Opinion is like the 5th member of U2 really made this song the classic that it is.
U2 at their very best as far as i am concerened and knocks spots of off their later work after 1996 when they so badly lost their way musically.
i was at U2´s concert in Zagreb and i was simply touched by such huge emotions all mixed up inside me, but positivly :)
it was never one of my best favorite song but now it is.. what a night it was in Zagreb :))) "stay now, stay in this moment"... Come back to Croatia again, it was unforgetable.. the evening i will never forget :D

From today's news:
Dubliners angry over the around-the-clock dismantling of U2's monumental concert stage mounted street protests Tuesday, snarling the Irish band's plans for the next stages of their European tour
Again with yesterday's news. The residents around there didn't even want the show there due to decibel levels. I already know about the residents around Crooke Park protesting fool. Didn't mean sh*t though. U2 will play their next schedule dates with no problems.
The work began in the small hours to reapir, clean, return to normal the area around Dublin 3,, before people got up for work and whatever....if there was no clean up in/around the stadium, some Victor Meldrews would still get their knickers in a knot about something,, beer bottles around the place, litter,,, trucks, heading to the docks snarling up traffic,,,,, some folk love a good old fashioned moan, just a good old fashioned irish whinge,,,poor me, poor me,, and all the hassle i have, poor me
I fi was extemely wealthy, extemly hard working, away from my family a lot,, i would possibly seek ways to minimise the irish govt, total inepitiude get their grubby hands on my hard earned money,,the fact the group wants to move a lot of their cash out of the state does not reflect badly o them, they pay their way, as do i, as do you,, why would you want to insulate yourself form the dickheads in Finnia Fail. U2 have made huge, massive contributions to the Irish Rev Commisioners,,,,fact.
So how much have you donated to charity recently. As a matter of fact, have you a gift to entertain and give people joy like he and the band has? Or is your only gift to talk bollocks? You want to cite hypocricy? You're the worst sort, mate! Irony.

Typical Yank with a propaganda flag stuck up your hole. Go do some research on Che Ernesto Guevara before spouting yer trap off. He fought against oppression and poverty his way. He fought for the poor and downtrodden. Remind you of someone? Go get educated on the man, you stupid cunt.
you stupid fool. I know a lot about Che. I am half Cuban you dubass and we know he was a terrorist murderer. It is stupid fools like you who propagate the propaganda about him. You 're just too stupid to know that Che would murder you in a second if he thought you didn't follow his communist/leftist bullsh#t.
Of course you're half Cuban...but then again you'd say you're half Irish too. And then again you'd say you were a bit German mixed with a bit of Dutch and a sprinkle of scottish thrown in there just for the craic. Go read something. A book or something not pertaining to the bullshit you've been force fed your whole life.
Please keep promoting Che because it just exposes you as a complete idiot and intelligent people who know about che will consider you a fool.
The nice thing to know is Che would probably put a bullet in your head and
yet you admire him. So go read the motorcycle diaries again and dream of how great a man he was meanwhile the truth is he was a murderer and terrorist and people will think less of you for promoting him
I have to agree with Kelly. You are an idiot to be promoting Guevara. He is a well known murderer and communist. Any fool that says go ask the people of Cuba and think they can give an honest opinion with castro in power is just plan dumb.
Ask the cuban americans and they despise Che and they are free to speak out. So go take you leftist garbage and shove it up your azzhole
Another Yank. Why am I not surprised? Go get an education on history rather than distorted points of views and opinions. You've had had that drum banging in your ear the day and hour you were born. Step outside that bubble known as the USA.
