Hi there... I really like your videos... where is the best place to buy letus mini? I am thinking about buying one but still looking for cheaper alternatives...:) keep your videos comming
I would have loved to film more but there was an open house at the manor house and I do prefer shots with no people in them... I was allowed to film indoors as well but the rooms, though beautiful, where quite small and my widest lens is a 24mm. It was quite busy there and not suited for tripod use.
My setup, which is a big part of the 'film look', is also very cumbersome to handle. My Canon HG10 is just a 'basic' HD cam but the Letus35 Mini adapter and SLR lenses give great...
...shallow DoF and general control over focus. Everything is manual, which is good but also time consuming to set up (with this setup). Aperture is set by attaching my SLR lenses to my SLR body and then back on the adapter. Canon EF lenses don't have an aperture ring, since they are electronically controlled from the SLR body. I use Cokin ND grad filters to control light. I use Magic Bullet Looks for color grading in post.
I'm actually in the process on selling my gear and getting an EX1 :)
My editing skills also need improvement but I'll let time change that. The AVCHD files from my HG10 are hard on my PC. When playing back the 1440x1080 clips in my NLE at full resolution, I only see about one frame a second. Try doing any kind of editing like that :) The mpeg2 files from the EX1 should be easier to handle...
Thanks for the info Rico, I like your work. The PMW-EX1 is an excellent choice. I started with a Sony HDR-HC7E and upgraded to the EX1 about 6 weeks ago. You will find it a brilliant camera. I had to upgrade my computer to a Quad core (8 thread) to handle the 1080x1920 25P. Keep up the good work. Regards, Colin
Thanks, I just got a Manfrotto MPRO 535 carbon fiber tripod and 503HDV fluid head. The 'half bowl' system is very easy to use / level and handles the weight of my gear brilliantly. Even the indiSLIDERpro is rock solid...

The cheapest is to buy from the USA - bhphotovideoDOTcom or directly from letus35DOTcom.

Would like to have seen more but thought it very well videographed. Thought the backing was excellent. How are you getting the "film look"?
