  • hello! I want to buy the nook simple touch but the thing is that i live in Greece and i only plan to use it as a reading only device without worrying for the download books options or anything else.I plan to buy the books from my computer and then transfer them to the nook. But i read in the comments that you have to have a credit card (and i thing that it must be American). Will i be able to use it without any credit card or if not will it work with a Greek prepaid one since that is all i have?

  • @elenanichlou sorry i meant i 'think' it must be an American card :)

  • is their any star wars screensavers for the nook

  • Is there a downside to always using the screen to turn the pages? I always do that, but wonder if the screen will wear out fast or something.

  • I love my nook. Just got it. But when you buy it make sure you have a CC to activate your membership... i had that problem. but once you do that, its all good.

  • @thewayweare100 It looks like you can register now without a CC, but you can't download anything from the BN store without a CC-- not even free books. It's kind of a shame that you can't get free books without it.

  • The nook simple touch is no $99 for now anyway

  • A BUCK 39 HERE I COME BARNES AND NIBLES

  • plz tell me wut to get!!! i have a choice between a nook or kindle!?? wat is good for kids? plz reply! and i want to get books for free. i dont care about touch screen. plz someone reply!!! :(

  • can we change the screensaver instead of old authors? sometimes they scare me :P

  • @ERINNUT711 Yes, there's a nature screensaver option.

  • I:21 squirrel!

  • Great Review. Thanks! You sound like Tom Hanks, but have the same name as my friend.

  • I have one. I rocks!

I use the LCARS Star Trek panel pictures for the screen saver! lol

  • It's a buck 39?!??!?!?!?!?!

  • @Jedieaston he meas 139$

  • @creamytarte you do get free books and at my local library im able to checkout books on the nook for up to 3 weeks. and you can check it out at home

  • Video review was really well done. Thanks!

  • ha hunger games

  • Sold my NOOK 1st edition 2day...getting this tomorrow! So excited! :D

  • Thx

  • great video, thanks so much. really appreciate all the comparisons you included.

  • of the 2gb on board memory 1gb is available for storage, of that 1gb 750mb is reserved for content purchased solely from the Barnes and Noble ebook store and 250mb is left for other content, for example the thousands of FREE ebooks that are available. ...i've got a Sony PRS 350 - very happy :) ...i would also look at the Kobo Touch and the Kogan ereader - Kogan is an Australian company, just google their website.

  • @creamytarte I have over 6000 ebooks I downloaded for free. Completely illegal but whatever

  • nook, battery life 2months without wifi, 2weeks with wifi, beats kindle

  • Was that a review or a hands-on?

  • IMO the new nook is slightly better than the kindle 3, but not by much. I'd look at which store has more of the books you'd want to read. Kindle has the advantage of being the dominant ecosystem, but if Nook has everything you want then it might be a good choice.

  • thanks for the review. how would you rate it overall against the kindle.?

  • @evenchampions The new nook beats the Kindle, hands down. You can look at the comparison, and it's pretty remarkable how much better the new Nook is.

But, the Kindle 4 comes out this fall. So who knows?
