alright to anyone who's confused about the ending of the series... yes they were set of surviving by all means but in the end they had defeated their final enemy and they could actually be at peace. reiji was able to make eren smile one last time, and eren had found her home. but they couldn't do anything passed that. eren shot him, and then she ate the flower petal which was poisonous. so they both died happy and fulfilled

I loved this anime. Watched it straight from Netflix even though I'm a fan of japanese w/ english subs. I loved the Romeo and Juliet tragedy feel to this anime. It really kept me on the edge of my seat. I loved all the characters because they all contributed to the story and gave it a reason to keep going. 5/5 :)

The main character was able to keep his final promise, so the end is perfect.

It seems several people don't understand the ending. It's a tragedy just like Romeo and Juliet. It wouldn't be what it is if the ending had been any different.

i liked the anime and all but the ending really pissed me off......i mean come on, you had a mindset of not dying at any costs %99.9 of the show and then at that last moment when you finally defeated most of the bad people you pull that off. and they should at least made it clear what happened at the end. now its a double whammy, getting mad at the ending, and getting more mad at how it happened.

@weby113 You probably found out by now but if u didn't, yeah, Reiji was shot and Ein poisoned herself (the flowers were poisonous). Basically every main character the writers actually chose to characterize the most died. A tragedy ending but Project Phantom did it quite well.
