Thanks to M&L for such a terrific song. It was a pleasure to have this great Canadian song with awesome production on our playlist at CFGO (The GO/14), Ottawa, Ontario.
I've always loved this awesome song! I just never heard it on the radio for about a 15 year span and I was practically salivating for it. A few years ago I was doing a bit of work in Yellowknife and mentioned it to my friends: "You know what song I haven't heard..." and there it was on the radio. I didn't even get to finish my sentence. There it was as if it was the most normal thing in the world to hear it. Man I'd love to get the record.
I tried to find their album so I could add it to my music but couldn't find it. I didn't realize it wasn't put on CD. Sure was nice to hear this song again. Thank you.
I have been looking for this song (Can You give it all to me), but I can NOT find it anywhere. no stores, no online.... NO WHERE... I would very much like to have this song.
Please someone???? Anyone??? Help me end my search PLEASE
@Kikaiota try a seach for a youtube to mp3 converter on the net. I spent, what, 30 years trying to find this. I've even offered to buy it from radio stations with no luck.
Thank you, thank you, mojofilter2 for posting this!!!! This song reminds me of being 9 years old in '74 or '75 and driving down the highway to my hometown with my Dad in cold, cold Saskatchewan in January!! :)
@6prereq I was raised in Southern Saskatchewan and this song brings back some fond memories of the mid Seventies. Reside in Vancouver now and all the "New Canadians" have really missed out on growing up with the earlier Canadian Music which is an important part of our culture. At least I think music helps define a nation. Incredible tune!
This is Myles, and I'd like to thank everyone for their support, and comments. I just released my new single, 'Things aren't always what they seem" and you can now buy it on iTunes.
What aiden21 wrote, love the violins and the ending is great, no fade out as was so popular in 70s am radio music ... LOVE IT thanks for posting, mojo !
I actually saw these guys perform this song live at the Ottawa Civic Centre, back in the day. It's a great tune, and was truly fantastic live. It's a great shame it has never been re-issued digitally. Perhaps someone could put together a collection of long-ago Juno winners, like this one. (I THINK M & L were backing Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention - which then included electric violinist Jean-Luc Ponty. Bim MAY have been on the bill, too. It was, after all, 35 years ago...)
i believe that was 1977 and it was a great show .. i wish i could confirm that for ya but i was drugged out at the time and find it hard to drag this stuff up from the depths... but i do know it was a great show.. and the after party was as if not better.. ..a great tune by myles and lenny.. really only the 1 single that made an impact..
No, it has never been reissued in any form as of 2009. Most of the Canadian records you know from your childhood have never been reissued on CD, and likely never will be...
@TuneblendR What is it with us Canadians? I'm a Quebecer(I still qualify as a Canadian,Eh?)and this song reminds me of my first real job, first real love and sultry summer nights. A young man, an old car, Myles and Lenny on the 8-track and nothing but open roads stretching off into the setting sun and the promise of something better ahead.
@TuneblendR This particular song and some other old Canadian favourites can be found in a collection of Cds called "Only In Canada Our Rock N Roll History". This song is on the 10th Cd of the 10 volume set. The Cds are hard to find but they sometimes show up on ebay for about 15$ each.
This song should have been a hit. I was a d.j. at the time and I played it, but it seems not enough people did.... Still sounds great even today. Thanks for posting it!
I have this in my vinyl collection but I haven't had a turntable in quite some time. This is another good reason to get one. What a great tune......massive arrangement, nice strings. Thanks for loading.
I have dozens of thousands of records, so you can imagine I've been in a LOT of record stores, thrift shops and the like. I have never seen an album by Myles & Lenny, and I fear I may never be so lucky, especially since now I live 1200 miles from the nearest person who has heard of them.
I worked in a logging camp in 1974 and borrowed the Myles & Lenny album from a fellow logger. It was released on Jan.01/74 on Columbia and would give my eye teeth to have it now.
@mojofilter02 I have two albums, One is the first of their albums that I wore out listening to. The second is a mint condition second album that I bought on e-bay in their vinyl section, it has never been opened or played. Now that I have reminded myself why I loved these guys, I might listen to it
@mojofilter02 Sadly you wont find one either. I had a friend 15 yrs ago that owned a record store. He eventually found me one of the few alblums left on the market. All of thier records have been discontinued as of 1980 I was told. You may find a bootleg cd out there. It's very sad too because they like so many other groups get very little play time on the radio anymore. I do wish you the best of luck though.
I agree, this is a spectacular record! As I write, it has 999 views. It's still popular. Too bad you can't buy it except used on the collectors' market if and when it becomes available. Glad you enjoyed it.
omigod! Was trolling through 70s music here and saw this title. Wow! I don't think I've heard this since it was released! Way to go...this is great music! Thanks!!
Thankyou and AMAZING sound quality!!

This song had such an affect on me, growing up in Toronto and in Jr. high school when it came out.
Has it ever been released on CD?
I was in first violin in the orchestra when this passionate arrangement dominated the CDN airwaves.

I had no idea who did this song years ago, but when I heard it again, I had to find it.
This is a classic from the 70's and I remember summer trips with this song on the radio, didn't know they were Canadians...RIGHT ON, EH!!!
