Actually..it's an After Effects process..and quite easy. There's a tut on Youtube somewhere but basically you isolate the light through brightness and contrast to make black background..then take out the background to transparency..use echo on the light..and any glow you need and then add original source footage back in. It's a pretty stock effect now with every other TV advert using it. Nice Guerilla approach in this vid though..well done. No paint remover needed too.

theres a setting on most cameras which can do this. The light exposure is turned down to lowest

i'm agree with you criticalBlue this is after effect but do you know how to this with photoshop? I try so many times using different brushes to get the light streaks but don't look good!

i think he recorded the video first and then used a video editing program to set it 2 track the light source.

They probably used After Effects to generate the light streaks over video. In other words, the light streaks were digitally added. A video camera wouldn't be able to capture the person live while streaking the light. Nevertheless, this is a cool vid!

If anyone wants to try painting with light with a still camera all you need is a camera with a long shutter speed(5+ seconds is best) and a light to paint with inside the frame. The longer the shutter speed, the more time you have to make shapes.
