I've read the manga all the way to 7th volume and I'm waiting for more to be published out here. Decided to take a look at the anime. For some reason - and I swear I really don't know why - the intro makes me cry. Such a cheerful series and what do I do, I just weep, dammit. Could it be an overdose of happiness? Well, either way, once I've finished the series I'm going to have one heck of a headache from all this crying. >_<

@lokalllize Well, I can say she does see a glimpse of her mother a few times... I haven't seen the ending of the series myself yet, and in so far as I know the series is still going on in Japan. Well, at least the 8th volume has been out there since April, 2011. Notable is that the first season only covers 53 chapters, being very faithful to the manga and making it near to the ending of the 3rd volume, while the second season starts from the remnant chapters of the third volume.

@sinituuke And since the second season seems to alter the storyline quite a lot, it's predictable that the manga and the anime will receive different endings. Whether the anime is finished at two seasons and the manga at 8 volumes is still unclear to me.

@lokalllize You could always try Mangafox or some similar site. However, there may be some license issues or just simple lack of interest in the way of scanlating, making the manga unavailable online. I don't know myself, since I stick to paperbacks.

@sinituuke There's really no telling whether the anime is still running, but with 104 episodes on the second season alone and the title of the last episode being somewhat final-sounding, I'd suspect the season has reached its end. A new season just might be on its way, seeing that they left a wealth of material from the manga unused.

I'm not 100% sure of exactly what she says as I'm not that good with informal Japanese, but I'm pretty sure that the "Chi" you hear her say is the "chi" in "uchi", which means "home". Actioally i think it sounds like she leaves the verb out to, which should give a rough translation to "to home", only the destination and a particle marking that it is a destination.

i got the first manga volume of this series and Death Note, the "death note" manga was WAY more thick that "chi's sweet home", but the death note was only 7.99 and Chi's Sweet Home was 13.99, that is messed up! but this is still a super cute series! (maybe the Chi's sweet home was more excpensive because it was all in color?)

@bruceatsr44 It's nt really a debate. It's true that adult cats are lactose intolerant. They can't digest milk properly and it gives them stomach aches and diarrhea. Small amount of milk are ok, but they shouldn't be given too much and certainly not daily. Bowls of water are healthier and preferred by cats, anyway. :)
