Your GE 5 wing is a W22 the only way you can tell is by the grill or a sticker at the bottom the w22 grill you have to push inwards to get the grill into place. The W25 has the holes above which you don't have to bend to place in the hole Btw there are difference in the models W22 is much more powerful then the W25 hope this helped out.
What are thrust washers and where do you get them? I have a beautiful 1957 ge all metal reversible with thermostat, its perfect on med and high but it knocks a little on low going forward but not backwards, I think bearings are good as it has a long slow down time. thanks dan..
You know if you want a fast way to clean grills and blades, just put them in the dishwasher then you can put the polish on it and do what ever you want. Realy try it! See if you can video it too if you cant thats fine
Well hopefully you'll find one Emerson. Those fans, even though the blades are plastic, are extremely powerful! I bet this one of few plastic bladed fans that will probably outpower a P-25.
Nice fans Spats, especially the G.E.! Those plastic bladed GE's have got to be some of the most powerful plastic bladed fans. I bet those are some of few plastic bladed fans that will out perform a Lakewood P-25. Also I think Maxxarcade did videos of both of those fans. BTW Monarch Aire and the Air King box fans of that time were made by the same company, whatever its name was, probably Veco. I'm very familliar with the plastic bladed ones from that company too.
I've been wanting a GE fan like that one for a long time. Never have been able to find one. I did see one on ebay a while back, but the bidding was more than I was willing to buy it for.
Oh, if you find thrust washers. Let me know where you got them. I have a couple of motors here that need new ones to take excess play out of the shaft. Thanks. :)
Nice i knwo the Monarch aire is from Maxxarcade , but is the gE too? also the Monarch aire is a Airking. and that gE my has the same noise exactly , and other owners have that probelm, its actually normall, watch my vidoe and ull see what it is, but mine has that same noise. very nice though, now i know the model of mine, and LOL with "IN THE BOX" LOL nice video, please watch mine and see if urs does the same, it does make the sam buzz noise thoguh

Your cat is so cute. That GE box fan seems kinda loud. Sounds an awful lot like the 200i. But i actually like the noise. Brings back memories.

Those are very nice box fans. They will serve any one well, if you serve them in return.

U GOT A GE IN THE BOX!!!!!!!!!
Dafanmon2500 2 years ago
OK, I'm really beginning to want one of those now. I've seen others out there that have a startup sound to them (even with plastic blades.)
Another YouTuber did a video on how to lubricate the G.E.

Man! Nice fan! I hope that GE is an easy fix!

I should have called those two Buzzy and Fuzzy :-)
I still love the quietness of that Monarch Aire. It doesn't vibrate even with all the lint on the blades.

In the BOX spats! I have always liked these GE fans and I even had one but not sure what happened to it. The Monach Aire looks like a good fan too!

I just got the desk fan sibling of that GE boxfan. It's a 12" oscillator with 5 plastic blades, which I think is from the 70's.
Those GE motors had paper around the windings I think. A friend of mine (BrockenSpecter) has the 14" version of the GE boxfan that did this.
I'm sure next time EmersonCollie visits you he'll be able to solve its issues.
