amungst blacks there is a division between light and dark skinned... darker blacks are picked on many times, etc and lighter blacks are see as closer to "white" sometimes.... very complex and touchy situation.... back in the slave days, you had the house negro (light) and field negro (dark).. many light skinned blks were mixed with white,spoke proper, etc, while the dark negro was working, plowing the field, etc.... too long to explain though
