  • do you have 'the lung' from this gig?

  • Nice work. keep it up. tyjuyhj

  • one word....WOW!!

  • J. mascis is to the left man, this aint a kevin drew show haha

  • That's right. Sonic Youth are soooo mainstream.

And, following this logic, so were the post-Descendents outgrowth, ALL when they were on Interscope for no more than one album.

Let's see... I suppose you can lump Seaweed into that composite, Spoon too, during the late 90's. Husker Du, Sugar, Replacements...

Besides, Dinosaur Jr were more specifically post-punk rather than falling under the jurisdiction of the oft misappropriated, oversimplified, ever so expansive "indie" umbrella.

  • J Mascis is a perfect example of a person who made music to make good music... not to make money. eventually his style of music caught the ear of the industry and he was able to actually make money. the main point to his respectability is his consistentness. same with Sonic Youth and the other bands you listed... never compromising, it just eventually became accessable to the masses as well as the core music lovers

  • damn....

if i was older, rich enough to afford plane tickets, concert tickets.

i could have seen a jr. song with one of the best indie bands of this time

  • its in guitar hero world tour :)

  • it can be considered 'indie rock' and still be on a 'major label'. so many examples of this. please.

  • wow i wish i was at this show. two of my favorite bands playing together!

  • like how this vid is 4 mins and 20 seconds

  • you're retarded

  • absolutely

  • same

    420 ftw

  • hitlers birthday? huh?

  • the very same. :)

  • Thus my point, it wasn't underappreciated...and anyone in the know was very familiar w/ this song and is still very much aware of it.

  • I'm just saying that for the genre this song did quite well and was very appreciated. Some scenesters even dismissed it b/c it was too commercial. And this song was never mis-percieved as grunge imho, it was indie and was always indie. Along with the Pixies and Sebadoh (read, not the lemonheads) were the birth of mainstream Massach. indie.

  • What the heck are you talking about? This song was a total hit and garnered considerable MTV Air time. It was a hit, is a hit, and will always be a hit. Der...

  • Such a good quality vid.

Takes me back, to those silver locks of his, swaying in the blue light. Haha, oh Mascis.

    How amazing was BSS though?

  • oh yea!

  • i was at this show...thanks so much for posting

  • No worries. Such a good show.

  • This is amazing.

  • Awesomeness

  • =O THIS IS INSANE!

  • ridiculously amazing.

  • i've been dying to see some of this. got anymore?

  • nevermind. i found em.
