We might be a bit biased, but we think it is a pretty great place to live! Many also agree with us - in 2009, Vancouver was named the world's #1 most livable city by The Economist!
A lot of people were really impressed with the aliens in D9, but I was more blown away by the exosuit. I think the fact that the lighting and texture, and seamless intergration of it was so fantastic. It made me wonder how much better the transformers would look if The Embassy were handed the budget for Transformers.
Anyway, my only complaint is that in certain scenes, the exosuit moved in sort of a stop-motion way, but I wonder if that's due to having specific movement.
I saw this film this past weekend and abolutely loved it. For it's budget I thought it easily rivaled many 100+million projects and the effects were superb, many shoots the effects looked to fit in place unlike other films where it looks fake and pulls you out a bit because the lighting/details are off a lot.
Personally I'd have to say this is by far the best lit 3D film I have ever seen. I'm taking 3D classes and trying to get into the industry and I know how hard it is to get lighting right which is why I usually let movies slide when its a little off but OMFG this movie was so damn near perfect that I wanted to just yell out FUCK YEAH lol
Some people on IMDb are saying that Blomkamp 'cheats' with his CGI effects by using harsh lighting to help hide the edges, and using RED cameras, which makes it much easier to intergrate CGI.
Yeah that would piss me off too, this movie is amazing because it does almost everything right, doesn't matter if people think its a "cheap" way to do it, it was done that way because that's the way that makes it look the best.
It makes for a good story. The other side is that he met producer Scott Mosier and cinematographer David Klein and VFS, longtime collaborators (and successes in their own right) he wouldn't have known otherwise. They both finished their studies and graduated. It worked out for everybody in the end!
at least 19, no and no....make a phone call dude advisors are toll free. But if you want to make it big i suggest going to a collage then a VFS so your ahead of the pack and will get a better job

That's what I'm saying.

I think they're just sour, though.

Whatever gets the job done and doesn't take away from the movie. If it looks good and adds to the movie its not cheating, its clever.

Oh, I agree.
But I was just irratated that people were trying to make it sound like there was nothing really complex about the CGI and animation in this film.

So what if he does? It doesn't matter as long as it looks good in the end.

Kevin Smith went to VFS. For 2 months. Then he quit, got his money back, and used it to pay for Clerks.

How old is the average student? ? Do you require a degree to get in? or is it a place you can get in from a-levels?
