  • I think you should lower the height and density of decoration so its more spacious for the fish. These animals live in habitats with mostly rocky and debris bottoms. And since they are big they really need the space :)

  • @ReaIly : thanks for the feedback! Have a look at my latest videos with the catfish. I removed one big piece of wood to create more swimming space.

  • very depresing tank and fish!!

  • thts not 851 galoons thts not evn 600 galoons i wud say its 250 gallons

  • @dg1998original : check out the other videos for a better impression

  • @tommulders ohk.

  • @dg1998original jack ass ahahahaha

  • @dg1998original its def more than 250 xD that tank is very deceptive....theres a 350 at my local fish store and this tank dwarfs it

  • @dg1998original

no no its really big the width is big too you do the math

  • @dg1998original I think its 55 at most.

  • you should put a red devil, jaguar, flowerhorn, oscar, butti, dovii, greenterror, texas and jackdemsy so that it will look cool

  • @flakesnow2003 well dont you relise what hes done here ? hes has fish fron a geographical area living as they should in their enviroment , water quality dailed in and all these get much bigger they are not digging up his plants or killing each other and hes already got manguenisises in there , sorry but what you suggest is a nightmare of kaos , this is the way it should be rare that get along, get large and are fish kept well if any thing this tank would benfit from some carrisons and cats

  • Would love to put only tiny fish in a tank that size.

Much better video than the others you shot during the day.

REALLY jealous of you. Amazing tank. Best of luck.

  • @deadtopcat : if I put small fish in this tank they have a live expectancy of about 1 second ;-) But I agree, replacing the cichlids with 500 tetra's would be awesome

  • @tommulders it expensive and interesting to do , i think you ve done well, i would suggest some cats , and some top minnows or charrisons or some odd balls that could keep up like large fire eel or abu abu, but i do love mixxing the right chiclids and have done it for years , its the way it should be , i once made a fresh water reef with lots of rock and crustations , snails , plants , fish , and a few odd balls like dragon fish , toadfish , loaches and shell dwellers ,, good job peace

  • @deadtopcat i filled my 360 gallon with hundreds and hundreds of tetras once ,,, some got very large and they showed some very strange actions ,,, you could really see their cousins actions as some did act like piranah ,, and some became territorial ,, i only used mop breeders in that tank ,,, try it it is wild but expensive if you dont know an in to that world ,,, years later i still have one four inch tetra left, hes a tough guy that lives with a green terror and some convicts

  • done by hobbykwekers haha klinkt leuk:D

  • Whoaa! thats neat cool tank and fish

  • Why dont you take a video of your urophthalmus? Very interesting!

  • @Tuuchka: hi there! I do have some great vids with the urupthalmus. Also have a look at my favourites: there are some vids of the uru's done by hobbykwekers, and they are of amazing quality

  • Very nice, indeed. :)))

Although, I must say, I would choose other fishes te fill such an aquarium with. But, I guess, that all depends on personal preferences, doesn't it? :)

  • Absolutely. I really like arowana's, Brachyplatystoma tigrinum and large south american cichlids as well, but then you make choices ;-) Now I combine the catfish and arowana with Central American cichlids, and they go really well together. Maybe I'll one day completely switch to South America..

  • Well, I don't blame you. :)

And, yeah, arowana's are great fish. But I would put them together with the Heros notatus, some Uaru's and maybe some Apteronotus albofrons. Like I said, that all depends on personal preferences.

However, it remains a great tank. :))) A tank to be proud off. :)))

  • Good fish suggestions! I'll check them out!

  • @tommulders African > South American

  • @hethradiah78 Central American > African

  • how do you keep your water so clear with all that wood in there? i have some in my tank specifically for aquariums and it makes my water brown.

  • @Buddahisbetta: regular water changes are the best. If u change 30% per week, after a while the browning of the water will become less and less. Good luck! I personally really like wood in my tanks, especially if they are overgrown with anubias or Java Fern.

  • @tommulders your tank is awsome if you dont mind saying but how much did it all cost from start to finish??

i would be intrested and you should get a jardini:)

  • Instead of a jarnini, which happens to be too aggresive for this tank, I have a Black Arowana: Oesteoglossum fereirai :-)

  • how do you clean this? climb on in?

  • I use a strong algae magnet and do regular water changes. Of course there is a strong beadfilter through which a pump circulates 12000 liters per hour

  • Cool stuff man.

  • very nice

  • WOW

  • is there a blackbelt in there ?

  • easyly one of the greatest tanks on youtbe, credit to the hobby, keep it up

  • whats your biggest fish in there!?

  • 35+ Parachromis managuensis and almost similar size Vieja bifasciatum
