  • fuck tony Hawk! had this album on Vinyl got my Avail tatt because I love AVAIL! and always will!!!!!

  • V.A ..... has a lot of fucking real talent and it needs to be heard. Not from V.A but damn man.

  • 2:44 -> EPIC DANCE!!!

  • Does anyone know when or where this was filmed?

  • anyone know what Beau Beau is doing now?

  • @VivaRevolucionDGS

He's bartending at Starlite... Go on a Monday he'll play punk and hardcore. Any other night its lots and lots of douchebags

  • i wanna hurt people now

  • This is really a "simple song" but it's objetive and striking!

  • One of the BEST punk bands in the world!

  • avail é muito boa, uma das minhas bandas preferidas!

  • avail was pretty goddamn good. i have had several of their albums. despite the era in which it was released, the album One Wrench is one of my longitme faves, and sits side-by-side with my collection of Bad Brains, TSOL, black flag and Circle Jerks. it ranks right up there with the rest.

  • this song makes me wanna go to a walmart and just randomly start throwin shit everywhere

  • Guitarist Joe Banks is still technically a member of Avail (since they are technically still together), but drummer Erik Larson left after 1998's Over The James, and Avail bassist Chuck McCauley, who is playing rhythm guitar in Freeman now, last played with Avail in 1994. Along with former Wheelbite vocalist Freeman Martin and former Mason Dixon Disaster bassist Chris Rigo, they make up Freeman . . . celebrating the release of their debut LP, It Doesn't Matter. (continued)

  • The album is currently available . . . and it's pretty excellent, bringing that same driving, melodic, somewhat emotional sound that Avail always had together with more overt hardcore influences and Freeman's voice, which is reminiscent both of Hot Water Music's Chuck Ragan and of Dave Smalley during his Down By Law days. The album definitely continues in the tradition established by Avail's classic 90s albums, and Freeman should easily win a place in the heart of that band's longtime fans."

  • R.I.P. Avail. These guys were part of one of the best and close knit music movements of our generation. Avail, Hot water music, Ann beretta, strike anywhere, leatherface, small brown bike, and the list goes on. Glad to be a part of that scene. "Busted lip from microphone brawl, angelic songs sung by all"

  • @Zerusuke yeah, in the PS2 version too! great song for skating ;)

  • was this the coney island high show w/ boysetsfire? if so, i was there. 1999

  • so alive

  • Quite to the contrary. Avail always played with awesome bands. One of the best shows I have ever seen was Dillenger 4, Kid Dynamite and Avail. In Philly. And I snuck in and didn't have to pay. I only did this b/c it was a sold out show and I was

'nt going to not see this show. Seeing Avail was unlike seeing any other band . Assholes didn't last long at any Avail show. They were not part of the party so get the F out. Damn I miss this band.

  • Man, I haven't seen these guys in years. Thank you, BlankTv.

  • Wow Tony Hawk 4 had everything?! Flogging Molly, US Bombs! Avail! now thats a warped tour kids!!

  • a los tiempos...

  • doubt we'll see anything new from Avail. supposedly some bad blood between Tim and the band over the band's treatment of a friend of TIm's who roadied for them on one of their last tours.

  • @availrvadgs Met tim at a show a couple of weeks ago, he told me they were done. Broke my heart but i'm just gald I got to see them 5 times before they broke up. I still have yet to see a band who can compare to avail's live show!

  • my best friends uncle is in avail, joe banks.

  • Man I Can Never Get Tired Of This Song... It Always Makes Me Ponder... Awesomely Well Written Song... One Of Punk's Many Great Songs...

  • anyone know if the first place was A.K.? its hard to tell but i think i knew the guy wearing the backpack lol makes me laugh

  • This song changed my life. Pretty ironic, I was sitting around playing THPS4, and this song came on. I stopped "skating," listened to the song, then got up and went outside. It was my first experience with punk. I was in 5th grade. It makes me want to get up and go! Fuck this comment I'm leaving lol

  • i lvoe this song

  • LMAO The Guy @ 2:41.... im gonna steal his moves...lol

  • This looks really familiar to a show I saw in Germany. Lagwagon and No Use For a Name were there that night too. I think that's me! I had bitten a whole through my tounge and was bleeding all over everyone in the pit so I stepped aside.

  • are they still together?

  • no. tim barry has been doing his solo thing for a few years and its amazing.

  • @screechingweaselfan1 Nah, they're done!

  • radness

  • I saw them live a bunch of times back in the day. Avail rocks!!!

  • Fuckin Simple Best Song Ever!

  • this song makes me wanna punch people in the balls

  • just not me

  • PWAC 4 eva

  • who cares i just listen to music, and i dont worry about the genre

  • that was so long ago. i think i was 16 at this show in the beginning. so much nostalgia. that's awesome.

  • its punk. end of discussion.

  • its good. END OF DISCUSSION

  • i'll drink to that!

  • rad song

  • Why is it that every time I check out a video there's always ALWAYS people bitching about some immature shit, Fuckin relax. God damn...

  • Agreed. I really don't think that when Avail, or SW or any band started playing they said, "we are going to be 'X' style of band. They play what they like. The styles are really just meant to help describe them to other people. They aren't meant as laws. It undermines the actual music to argue about it.

  • who gives a fuck they kick ass no matter what genre they are

  • ke viva el punk jueputa!!!!

    simple song

  • one of the all time great hardcore/punk bands

  • simple song

  • this is a nostalgic song...

  • i wish where i live there is bands like this playing live instead of stupid emo fags who think screeching like weasels (see what i did there) is hardcore punk. FUCk.

  • I know just what you mean. Around here we have 2 really annoying bands, Victory by Revenge & Rescue the Hero. You can look them up. Anyways, they're real annoying.

  • Aw too bad. Well i probably hate the fans more than the bands themselves, sometimes. They all think they are hardcore just 'cause they wear flannel shirts. Haha funny shit.

  • Possibly the dumbest comment ever! Screeching Weasel is unanimously considered a seminal punk band. Emo? What is music without emotion? GO listen to "MY Right" and tell me SW is an emo band.

Quit talking out of class. You dont know shit about the scene you are talking bout.

BTW, when has SW or SW fans ever claimed the band was "hardcore punk?"

Everyone knows they are a genius pop punk band.

See it's a real cool club, and you're not a part of it. (see what I did there?) fag

  • Is this a reply to OkayVinnie's comment?Maybe you should check out the channel first, then post the comment.

  • Did i ever mention Screeching Weasel is hardcore punk? Yes i meantion them in my post because i know many people into hardcore punk who also enjoy Screeching Weasel, go fucking listen to give up the ghost, fag.

  • and about the Emo thing, i know it means emotional, infact i used to proclaim i was "emo" three years ago when i was a close minded faggot listening toget up kids and mineral now i have no idea what it is except a bunch of kids who dress the same and get beaten up by a bunch of other closed mind faggots, these emo people are the people that bullied me until i left my school along with every other fucking whore. So dont rant on about i dont know about shit i am talking about because i do.

  • We are watching an AVAIL VIDEO HERE.. arent WE???? (besides Getupkids were a great band... dont knock em..)

  • woah nice one especially that last part, cool kids is gnarly:D

Screeching Weasel rocks and fuck anybody who talks shit

  • Music without emotion is called pop.

  • @CodyAllenmusic That reminds me of a song called "Sometimes" by Britney Spears, it was pop and full of emotion. Lol, just saying

  • @trecoolification Yeah... such meaningful and original lyrics.. that is totally music that I can stand behind.....

  • @trecoolification too bad she didnt even write that fucking song. actually, she didnt write a single goddamn song that´s on her first album. same with this new one. britney spears is talentless and an insult to true music.

  • @AP93Playa I knew my comment would get this type of answers... I'm not saying I'm a fan of her music, but that particular song seemed to transmit a lot of emotion. No other factors considered! Peace

  • @trecoolification its chill. i just hate "artists" that dont even write their own shit and get shitloads of credit as real musicians.

  • @OkayVinnie

Your comment was 9 months ago, but I still feel obliged to reply.

I feel that there are in fact an abundant of 'emo fag' bands whom are more talented musically. Not a fan of Avail to be honest, they where recomended because I was listening to Neoclassical Metal, how this crap cameabout, I don't know.

Lets play two chords, make the same drum beat, write shitty lyrics, and sing/yell like morons... MUSIC! (unfortunateley)

  • @DaggersPlunge so, if i get you, you are saying that this song consists of "two chords, same drumbeat, shitty lyrics and yelling"; then go and stfu because few would agree to you

  • @DaggersPlunge Firsst of all Simple Song consists of 6 chords. And its callled simple song for a reason. It was probably also recommended it to you because Tim the singer used to be a drummer in a death metal band and the drummer Eric is in Alabama Thunder Pussy and was also in a band called Killara.

The lyrics aren't shitty if you lived in Richmond in the mid 90's. This album in particular is a very RIchmond specific album and if you weren't here in the time period you wouldn't get it.

  • @jpointzero please tell then what the lyrics represent..i'd wish to know.. love this song

  • @DaggersPlunge Oh and yeah Avail sucks, so much so that Slayer wanted to take them on tour once. Oh and they were one of Slayer's favorite bands.

  • @OkayVinnie aww too right man. same here. fuck those pig squeelin fags.

  • @OkayVinnie

Avail probably supported a lot of sick 90s emo bands back in the day. Don't be so ignorant to history, and, while we're at it, use the epithet "fag" in such a derisive manner, you bigot. You've got no place in punk rock if you're going to use such hateful speech.

  • @mikesxdestroy punk rock is hateful to shit a person doesnt like punk rock is ruleless...fucker guy~

  • @mikesxdestroy -No place in punk rock if your going to use hateful speech? Are you new to punk? Seriously, hateful speech is not necessary, but dude, are you going to cry every time someone says something you don't like? The world is full of these people, so you need to get past that. You want to hear hateful punk- try listening to Fear or GG Allin.

  • @tyrantsparky No. I'm not crying; I'm confronting. You're more than welcome to leave punk rock, too, if you're not going to confront bigotry.

  • @mikesxdestroy -leave punk rock? It's not a city or state you knucklehead. Are you like 15 or something? I am all for confronting things, but don't whine so much. You sound so weak. Stand up for yourself, fine, but save those nonsense comments like "leave punk rock" or "no place in punk rock". It's a pretty wide genre. Trust me, I have been around it for 20+ years.

  • @tyrantsparky lol, he'd probably cry if he heard 20 seconds of Lee Ving at an early FEAR show.

Re: bigotry in punk. I -typically- dont call people fags, homos or whatever, but Im not gonna start a worldwide crusade to censor people. The second you start censoring, you might as well throw the rest of your freedoms away. One second you're listening to FEAR, and the next (because some head thinks the lyrics are offensive) your options are limited and the last music option is Justin fucking Bieber.

  • @OkayVinnie Avail was inspired by hardcore punk, metal, AND the first wave EMO you idiot, bands like Rites of Spring, Jaw Breaker and Fugazi, but no your such a genrist, a band that plays one type of music can't be inspired by a genre that you don't like

  • @OkayVinnie Screeching Weasel is the shit dude. You don't know what you're talking about.

  • @OkayVinnie Fucking Screeching Weasel is amazing. What the fuck are you talking about? They may not be hardcore punk but they're certainly not emo.

  • @OkayVinnie

    screeching weasels are amazing

  • @IC3S1SN1S he didn't say anything about their amazing-ness. he just said that they're not hardcore punk and he's right.

  • one of the best songs ive ever fuckin heard!

  • Oh my God dude....... I havn't heard this song in at least 5 years..... I just about fucking cried its so beutiful.

  • Avail! Great song. Saw them in AZ around 94/95...they played in a small empty storefront that some church group used on weekends. Funny place for a show. $5 and a can of food. It was the most powerful show I've ever seen. Thanks guys.

  • good memories with THPS4

  • oh heck yes! this was all i listened to on thps4

  • @GoBackToHell i know i looked up the soundtrack to that game. because you must admit it did have the best soundtrack

  • @mattroks101 you got that right :)

  • Comment removed

  • @GoBackToHell at least that video game was useful for something other than kids vegetation

  • @GoBackToHell that song had an amazing soundtrack

  • fucking great!

    what happened to them anyway?

  • Pretty much aren't playing together as a band anymore. Avail is done from what I've heard. Most of them have families now, few are in other bands. Only three of them still live in the Richmond area apparently.

  • Tim's still playing out, he and Beau Beau, Gwomper and Joe all still live in RVA although I don't know about Ed I never really got to know him. Tim tours all the time, recently with Josh Small from RVA and Austin Lucas who's not from town but are both fucking amazing. Check out Austin Lucas's "go west."

  • lead singer tim barry has a pretty good solo career...you should check him out....very good stuff

  • Whenever I hear this song I gotta get up and do something.

  • 5/5 !! yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah !!

  • i seen then at least 5 times...first time was in a trailer...one best live bands ive seen. fuck i miss them days

  • anyone who says that AVAIL sold out probably never really listened to them in the first place. POOR-UGLY-HAPPY!

  • well yeah...obviously the audio isn't live. great band/song/album though

  • looks like fuckin' playback...vocal sounds exactly the same as in official version of this song..

  • what do you think the lyrics are about? can't really seem to figure it out.

  • I felt like crying, such an amazing band.... great memories

  • THPS 4!!!!!!!! ÝEARS AGO...

  • OMFG!!! I start to cry!! soo fuckin great !

Saw them 4-5 times live-- love avail

  • AVAIL. Nobody else even comes close. RVA

  • This is punk done right.

  • Man, this was my favorite song on THPS4.

inb4 ass telling me I don't have a right to listen to them for not finding out about them before they "sold out"

  • Kickass song and lyrics.

  • Great band, best live act I've seen in a long time. Partied with them in Phoenix after the "Mason Jar" concert some years ago.

Punk is a mind set, not a life style or fashion statement! Avail Rocks!

  • THPS 4!!!!!

Where can i download this music?

  • I saw these guys play in a church in Maynard MA

  • great video. the live show for a video concept is well done :)

  • THPS 4

  • this song reminds me of the movie butterfly effect

  • why that movie??lol

  • i was watching that movie when i fisrt heard this song

  • I saw most if all of the shows up till 1998.

  • Avail changed my life... Louisville 1992?

  • We as well Tewligans, The Machine, Audubon Skate Park. I did not miss a show from 1992 until 1999.

  • i remember hearing this on THPS4 and then like an hour later on the radio

  • That... makes me really sad. God these guys were ont he radio? uuuugh. I remeber seeing these guys live when this album came out. Good show oh god. Good times.. I miss it :(

  • why is that bad and besides i just said that they never played and yes they put it on an amazing show

  • Punk rock bands shouldn't be on the radio or a popular video game, you know? It's... PUNK ROCK... not fucking... Britney Spears... Punk isn't supposed to be popular. But nothing can be done, you know?

  • Why is punk not allowed to be popular among those who like it. Ever hear of a radio station thats all about punk. I agree with people below saying that is sad how a lot of people only know about song because its on a game. But it does introduce them to that band and maybe they'll start listening to them. I bet that the artist has no problem being on a game especially if it introduces a bunch of people to their music.

  • Punk Rock is a mind set not a life style and therefore top 40 would be counter to all punk rock stands for. Being punk has never meant acceptance and main stream

  • totally i cant believe Anti-Flag went mainstream

  • I think you need to rethink what it's about.

Yes AF signed onto a major record label, to "spread the message," and that they have done quite well.

No joke. But don't worry. THEY ARE LEAVING RCA. Going independent again. I suppose they had lots of pressure considering that they were working with capitalists.

Anyways, most bands these days have sold out...some are still nice and underground.

Punk is what you make it to be. If you are accepted (go mainstream), it doesn't mean you lost it.

  • However, if your ultimate goal is to BE accepted, then you got it wrong.

It's about being yourself, unless what you do is what everyone else does. Anyone can do punk. It doesn't matter where they're from and how they play it. It doesn't need to be 3 chords, it doesn't need to be sick solos.

It's an art of expressing yourself in any way you want, whether it's using the strum of a guitar or something as big as an entire symphony.

That is truly something to admire.

  • for once i found a real punk n youtube !!;p

  • I agree, man.

Good job opening all these kids' eyes to what we're all about.

  • no i don't know u fucking moron get off ur own dick ur not some special person cuz u listen to a genre of music that is not played on the radio fucking idiot get a life

  • are you talkin to me
