  • wow, you speak Lao very well.

  • if you don't mind.. why is lao similar to thai? It makes me a bit confus because when it's start with sawadee kha.. sabaidee.. etc. it sounds for me not different to thai... Sorry im not thai, was just a question.. i want to understand what's the different..

  • Many langs have similar words and characteristics when cultures are so close. The Lao lang share similarities with neighbors for many reasons. 1 may be contributed to our religion. Thai, Lao, and even Khmer share same words from the Pali lang. Some Lao words may even sound similar to Chinese such as chicken (kai), horse (ma), and even the term for the morning glory, Lao calls it pak-boang while Malaysians call it kang-koang. So maybe the question is, why does Thai sound so similar to Lao :)

  • @Khantikone123 After being in Lao, I've learned that my Lao language isn't as good as I thought. Anyways, gotta keep practicing and trying. Thank you for all your comments.

  • sabaidee. very nice.
