if you don't mind.. why is lao similar to thai? It makes me a bit confus because when it's start with sawadee kha.. sabaidee.. etc. it sounds for me not different to thai... Sorry im not thai, was just a question.. i want to understand what's the different..
Many langs have similar words and characteristics when cultures are so close. The Lao lang share similarities with neighbors for many reasons. 1 may be contributed to our religion. Thai, Lao, and even Khmer share same words from the Pali lang. Some Lao words may even sound similar to Chinese such as chicken (kai), horse (ma), and even the term for the morning glory, Lao calls it pak-boang while Malaysians call it kang-koang. So maybe the question is, why does Thai sound so similar to Lao :)
@Khantikone123 After being in Lao, I've learned that my Lao language isn't as good as I thought. Anyways, gotta keep practicing and trying. Thank you for all your comments.
Oh my! This is an awesome video just like the other ones. Thanks for sharing!! I've watched your previous ones...and I just wanted to comment here before I watch the rest of your journey and other informative topics and the culture of Laos. I am an American born in Laos. So, this is very AWESOME. Just like to see how others are doing, too. We are Thai thay (sp?) like Southerners like we are now! hehe Good job!!
I'm very happy that you enjoyed my videos. I hope to be able to start making more very soon. If there is anything you want to see from Laos feel free to send me your suggestions. Enjoy :)
this video is so cool, i've never seen a lao cooking video. my mom would never, ever get on camera with me to show me anything about cooking lao foods. you're so lucky.
Hi Sengoku, Northern Laos is definately a place I want to capture in my video. As for now I've been very busy with work and have not had the chance to visit the north. But, once I do I'll definately post a video of it. Thanks.
wow, you speak Lao very well.

You have to learn how to speak slowly. Especially you are about hosting on TV. I really can't hear clearly what are you talking about.
