  • personally i think that it wouldve been best if jacob imprinted on leah it would have made more sense. jacob would have been happy everyone would be happy. imprinting on children no matter what is weird and creepy, and in the eclipse and breaking dawn is going to be really CREEPY just think about that but yeah

  • i agree. I really wanted him to end up with Leah. My friend actually gave me spoilers (unintentionally, she was really shocked) and I was in total denial throughout the whole book.

  • OMG!!!!! I'm totally team Jacob! And guess what? I was crying, yes, crying when Jacob imprinted on Renesmee. I was cursing the book for hours. I HATE THAT IDEA. Even Edward wasn't himself in the book. They were all ooc (out of character)! Even Bella she was like,

"Renesmee is soooo much more beautiful than Edward. I'm gonna go let Edward get shocked by Kate as long as Renesmee is still alive. Everything is so perfect! Jake, can you go take Renesmee away for the battle?"

    TO THE DARK SIDE!!!!!!!!

  • You are allowed to talk about it.But my point is why tell the whole world about what you don't like?By the way,it was just MY opinion. And trust me I'm not going to watch your videos.

  • I was disappointed. I wanted to talk about it. I had opinions. That's reason enough.

  • I don't understand why people HAVE to put their opinion of why they hate this and that out there.I understand if you don't like twilight or the saga but why go and make these videos and make a website of how much you hate something? If you don't like how Stephenie Meyer writes or her books then simply just don't read them.Everybody has a different opinion or point of view of what something is.Just like what Stephenie Meyer think of what love is.Everybody has a different opinion of what love is.

  • Many of us were disappointed by and/or offended by the book. I'm allowed to talk about it.

If you don't like my videos, DON'T WATCH THEM!

    Your hypocrisy amazes me.

  • The strong undertones of paedophilia in BD sickened me. Smeyer has the most twisted view of what love is. Look at the emotional abuse Edward throws on Bella. Or the way she becomes catatonic in NM. Or Jacob forcing himself on Bella. Imprinting also highlights the sheer sexism in Smeyer's books. Why can't Leah imprint? Why is she left to be a barren harpy? All women that aren't Bella Sue in the books are made out to be bitches. Down with Smeyer! You rock Heather!

  • When I get an email saying I have a comment on a vid I always assume the worst- but this comment reminded me why I made these vids in the first place! I am not alone- or crazy- in my beliefs! Thanks for commenting. :)

  • I am not sure if I will like BD or not. I can sort of understand imprinting between Sam and Emily. But I think SM tried to make it where Nessie grew up fast so that it didn't look so bad. But it does leave you with an ick factor. I know if my daughter was imprinted on with her being 1 yr old, I would murder the person. Now I am a fan of the books that I have read so far. I have yet 2 finish Eclipse. I still plan on reading BD. So I guess I will have 2 comment again after I have read it.

  • "Lockness Sparkle" LOL!

    Very well said, lass!

  • Great vid Heather. Imprinting is just WTF.

  • no they didnt say anything about imprinting in twilight

  • Well, they really did not get into the whole werewolf a whole lot in Twilight. But why did it not come out in New Moon instead of waiting until Eclipse?

  • Jacob will also never get to feel true love. Love is supposed to be about fighting with eachother and hating each other sometimes and staying away from each other, but you love them so much that nothing can really take you apart - and Jacob won't ever want to leave the Monster, or look for someone else, or feel doubt, or wonder if it's worth it. it's things like that that makes love mean someth ing, and not just something chemical in your brain that gives you woozy feelings.

  • Well, not only that, but how creepy is it to be tied to BELLA forever? I mean, we KNOW (because he tells us!) that he has had fantasies of having sex with Bella. ("Bella sighing *my* name...") I mean... UGH. How do you explain THAT to the Mutant Spawn? "Oh, yeah, I used to stroke it to thoughts about your mom..."

  • if thats love...then love just sucks.

  • it sure does! ;)

  • I am Team Jacob, and I thought it was awful. I HATED the last book. Jacob should have ended up unhappy, if only to add some mystery as to who he would have loved. Jacob would have had so much more depth if he had never imprinted, and had to find his love instead of it happening to him.

  • I think it was a destiny imprint. Jacob on;ly loved bella for the child she was going to hve. IT'S FAAAAATTEEEE!!! lol

  • I just thought of something. What if Renesmee was hugging Bella one day and accidentally showed her and Jacob having sex. How disturbing!!! I agree with the crazy pedophilia storyline pissing us off. I do have a comment though on the idea of the character's talking to you, or not knowing that things would change. I like writing short pieces of fiction and I have had one ending in mind and then, as I'm writing, the characters don't act the way I thought they would, like it wouldn't workt to

  • write them a certain way. So I can understand some of SM's comments. But if I find an idea that doesn't work out or is disturbing, I will go back and rewrite whatever I have to to make it right.

  • I have to say something. If you really understood that this is just fiction, you would also understand that fantasy fiction (which this is) never makes sense. It's job is to entertain. Not to explain how vampires work, because vampires like these don't exists. To rake everything over the coals can be fun, but also takes away the magic that the book has.

  • Yet Tolkein and Rowling and other fantasy fic authors managed to create worlds that worked without gaping logic holes. Most things don't need to make sense in the big scheme of things (except for when she starts messing with human chromosome laws)- but they DO need to make sense in regard to the world the author sets up. SM fails miserably at both.

Good fantasy fic not only entertains, but also makes sense on some level- it's what a talented author has to offer her audience.

  • That is a good point. I was thinking about that after my post and I came to the same thought that as long SM fallows the rules of the world she creates, it will make for a better book. But there is one thing I just thougt of. The reason Alice could not foresee Bella's paper cut is because she can only SEE what people PLAN to do. She gets mere glimpses of everything else. Since Bella never planned to cut herself, and since Jaspers bite would be spur of the moment, she would NOT be able to see it

  • hi! well I'm team jacob (never wanted him with Bella, but he was my favorite character) and I *so* didn't want him with Renesmee. I didn't want him to imprint at all - that... rebellion, that independence, was a big part of his character. He didn't want to imprint. So to have that taken away from him was definitely a downer. I wanted him to be strong enough to move on... to develop and mature as a character. but no. It'd be tragic for Bella to have to give up Jacob OR Edward, so she gets both.

  • Jacob should have gone out of Renesmees life and come back when she was in her teens and that way Renesmee could have many relationships before him. Jacob shouldn't be her obligatory and only relationship in her whole life! DO YOU AGREE HEATHER?

  • I think he should have left just so she could grow up half way normally (well, as normal as a Mutant Spawn with vamp parents can). I don't know if she needed to date other people- neither E. or B. did. But having the person you will marry raise you is icky to the max, so he should have gone away until she was ready for a romantic relationship. That's what she really "needed", so SM's version is total BS. Just like the rest of the book.

  • Thanks for your thoughts.

I have to say, people giving this particular comment thumbs down seems just hateful to me. The writer only said two things: that they like my vids and think I'm pretty. So, either you're bashing them for liking my vids or you're calling me ugly. Either way... that just makes you people asses. Move on.

  • I think SMeyer asked her friends first and they all said "yeah, thats cute." (the imprinting.) So she, I guess, thought it was alright. She should have watched To Catch a Predator on NBC. Then everything would have been alright.

  • im a fangirl but i do agree with everything u say if that makes sense...............???

  • I love how rational you are when you talk about all of the topics in these videos. Your arguments are thought-out and logical (unlike the Twilight books). Even though I usually don't watch videos this long with only someone talking, I enjoyed watching yours.

  • I am team jacob to death and she totally murdered him as a character stripped him of his coolness he is no longer a werewolf but only some mixed up "shapeshifter",made him the house slave/guard dog to his mortal enemies and now ofcorse a big Pedo. wtf. can't stand it.

  • I love your vids. I just finished watching them all. I would love for you to dissect (sp) Bella/Edwards relationship, because honestly it doesnt seem healthy

  • Jacob/Reneesme imprinting was absolutely disgusting. The emotional conflicts that Mutant Spawn is going to have when she realizes that she's in love with her father figure pretty much against her will makes me sympathize with her.

  • I've been on Team Jacob since mid-New Moon, so here's my worthless little opinion for you. ^^;;

I was extremely shocked the moment Bella started screaming at Jacob for his imprinting, and then I started laughing uncontrollably. I couldn't believe how ridiculous and unethical this book had resulted. I eventually couldn't read anymore. Meyer to me, started to hate Jacob, and made him the main enemy in the story. I guess he got on her nerves when he "talked" to her. Oh, BTW, ur totes awsum.

  • Lolita is meant to be about pedophilia, we all know it's about pedophilia, and so we make sure that children don't read it. However, Twilight is written for children. It's kind of a "DUH." moment.

  • Hi Heather! I have been Team Jacob since the very beginning. Hybrid baby should never have happened in the first place and imprinting on the baby crossed the line. It's disgusting. I would have been more than happy to see him in a relationship with Leah or imprint on a random new female character but not a baby. There's just no excuse for it. If this is what she does to her "favorite character" I'd hate to see what she does to the characters she doesn't like. She should be ashamed of herself.

  • I'm surprised you didn't mention Clare Quilty from Lolita. (Especially since it was in the petition that I think learned about that "coincidence." Could be wrong.)

Anyway, I love watching your videos and hearing your opinions on the whole debacle. It echoes a lot of what I've been thinking and brings up some other points that I didn't even think of.

  • Actually- that was not me. It was someone much smarter than me over on TDS. I'm not sure who originally brought it up, though.

  • ...AND-- why is it that only little girls are imprinted on by adult males? I mean, I hate to draw lines between the Mormon "destiny marriage" thing and this series but after reading that one site you listed on your last video...

    ~Sunnybird

  • I just have to say that I love the Amazon boards and your videos... Sadly I can't comment on those boards because I don't live in the states..

To answer your question I am very Team Jacob in the sense that I want him for myself lol...

I was absolutley disgusted by the imprinting... I didn't even realize it at first because I never thought that she would do that to Jacob!!! She ruined him!

I wanted him and Leah to work out... U know a little CHOICE. Lol.

  • It is the most disgusting thing I have ever seen written in a book ( and to have it as a YA book) Meyers is a twisted twisted woman

  • Jacob's feelings were suddenly the work of some sick calling from Bella's ovaries. Like a tiny little egg sitting in her organs would have so much appeal on a guy to make that guy fall for the person carrying said egg. It's very unsettling.

As Megan said, Jacob should have had a mortal life away from Bella and away from the vampires. Maybe he could have hooked up with the girl in the park or just have gone single for a while. As long as he was free from Bella.

Team J is definitely pissed off.

  • Couldn't agree more.

Bella didn't deserve to have Jake. It would have been healthier and better for him to just get way from her. He should imprinted on some nice human gal, or never have imprinted at all. He should have had his happy human life and he should have been able to stay mortal.

But noooooo. Smeyer just can't stand the thought of any of her characters dying she she makes Jake immortal. Blah.

  • I am a definite Team J fan. I posted a very good paragraph of how SM ruined Jacob's character and how Jake was suck around the vampire family that he fought so hard against. Jacob just wanted to go back to being normal, with or without Bella, and now he can't. He will never leave Lochness and he will never grow old thanks to the fact when vampires are around he will always shift.

SM totally ruined Jacob's feelings from the second and third book for Bella by having him imprint on Nessie. Cont'd

  • I didn't like this video as much of the others because it seems like you've already said all of this in your past videos...it just kind of seems like a repeat. I dunno...I just didn't notice any new arguments ^^; (Not to say that they are not valid, but I was hoping for another point against imprinting to add to the list you've made so far)

  • Sorry that you didn't like it. I'm okay with that. I hope my future vids are more your style.

  • I'm pretty sure they will be ^^ Like I said, I only disliked it because not many new arguments were really brought to the table here. Content was good, just repetitive.

  • Some folks wanted it all in one place, and expanded. It's also one of my huge hot button topics. I think it's disgusting and unforgivable. Fiction or not- it's not something that should be taken lightly.

I should say that I don't think she did it on purpose- in my opinion she doesn't give much thought to most of what she does. Someone should have stepped in, though.

  • Ah, ok then. That wasn't clear to me before.

Agreed...it's way too much even for a 'fictional book' and all the other excuses that she tries to hide behind to explain away all the crap she tried to pull in BD.

Well considering that she only used the twist with Quil and Claire because she, "thought it was funny." it doesn't surprise me. Really.

  • I am a Team Jacob member and i completely agree with you. I was so disappointed when he imprinted on Bella's DAUGHTER. It sickened me and just put the icing on the cake for my hate towards SM. I would have loved if she went about imprinting the way you would have.

  • Also (long comment, sorry) what about Leah? I'm really curious to see the difference in imprinting on a male that it'd bring up. I don't think we got to see her imprint just because of the reversal of roles. It is interesting to compare what that could have been like to what the wolf boys had. Anyway, my biggest problem with the story was how it is supposed to be all about having a choice, when that never really seems evident.

  • I don't think Meyer lets female werewolves imprint.

Probably why she snapped at the person who asked. 'cause it really illustrates the rampant sexism in the 'story'.

  • Has she gone on record about it? Can females really not imprint?

It would make sense b/c she obviously plays the "husband is the head of the household" card.

Interesting, though. It's okay for a man to "claim" a girl, and she has to submit? And what if *gasp!* an imprintee did resist. Would they ever be "free" to love again? And would their imprinter just stalk them forever?

  • No, she's not gone on record.

However, when she was asked as to whether or not female werewolves could imprint, she snapped about not answering questions about future books. (This was in a Q&A just after the imprinting thing game up, from what I remember.)

..lo and behold, last book. No female imprinting.

Sure, that may leave it open for questioning, but..

  • Just thought of something, since we are talking about imprinting. I've found yet another plot hole.

Wereshifters imprint on whoever is their best shot at passing on the wolf gene, right? Wolves have 24 chromes. Humans have 23. Several wolves have imprinted on humans. That makes no sense because of the chromosome difference. You can't mix 23 and 24 and end up with a viable offspring (it would be deformed, if anything), which makes imprinting (passing on the gene) pointless.

  • Hey there.

I was a hardcore Team Jacober. I wanted Jake to end up with the life he represented in Eclipse; the mortal, mostly normal life. I wanted him to be with some human girl like Leah. I was HORRIFIED by his ending. I was so pissed. Jake always represented choice. Not only was HIS choice taken away from him, but he was robbed of mortality and forced into being Bella's pet dog for all of eternity.

Killing him off would have been kinder than Demon Spawn.

  • I agree with what you said about imprinting, but I think I'm just as creeped out about it happening to an adult. I keep thinking about what it would be like to be the girl. They say they'd be whatever you wanted (or was it needed, because needed seems worse as who gets to decide what you need?) but would they honestly leave the person completely alone if that's what they wanted? I envision a stalker for life. Even if you did just give in I don't see the relationship ever being a healthy one.

  • To be honest, I think what you've had against Jacob stems from how he was in Eclipse and on.

I very much enjoyed him in the first two (consider him the saving grace until Leah was pointed out to me). But, as always, Meyer's shoddy characterization destroyed him when Eclipse came along because she wanted everyone to turn away from him and back toward Edward.

She (Meyer) had claimed at one point that she loved Jacob, but if it weren't for her editor, he would not be more than a plot device.

  • (Cont.) Her having him imprint in BD, to me, was a last-ditch effort to put the focus back on Edward and snub anyone who preferred Jacob. (Particularly those who saw past her lack of continuity in characterization.)

Ah, well. As I've said all along, Meyer is the example of what not to do, and she's given me a bit of fuel for my own projects. We'll see how they turn out, eh?

In the mean time, I should find time to resume my abridging..

  • I do like Jacob. I don't like everything he does, but that's fair enough, right?

I DESPISE the fact that he imprints on the Abomination, but as he says- it's not HIS fault.

I do like Jacob as a character, though.

  • Ah. Your first vid made it seem that you didn't. >.>

If anything, at the end of it all, I just felt sorry for him. He wanted to have free will. Makes me wonder if, at any point when he's away from her, the effect of the imprinting might fade a bit and the were-shifter-whatevernameMeyerpulledoutofherass-s might see it for what it is. That would be even worse...knowing that you've lost your free will after it's gone.

  • Oh, I totally think that Jacob got the shaft. What she did to him is fairly unforgivable.

But I do like Jacob. I just don't like everything he did. I can understand, to a point, WHY he does what he does (Bella totally jerks him around) but I still think he is out of line a few times.

  • Wishful thinking, but wouldn't it be marvelous if, in the grand scheme of things and thus outside Bella's sphere of consciousness, the Volturi were actually on the good side in regards to Meyerpires? And their backing away in BD was just a ruse so they can have time to mount a grand offensive? ..and the moment Nessie is destroyed, Jacob is free?

Oh, the possibilities that Meyer would never have the talent to consider.

  • Something that has always disturbed me is that when criticizing Jacob/Nessie, is that fangirls will usually reply with, "Well, when she turns 7, she'll physically be 18, so it's ok." ( or something like that), but I really don't by that. Just because she's "physically" 18, doesn't change the fact that she's still 7. If a 15 year old is built like an 18 year old, that doesn't change the fact that she's still 15 and that's Statutory rape.

Anywho, keep fighting the good fight!! :D

  • the nessie/jacob imprint will always be creepy for me.. but in the quil/claire imprint -- it would have been better is claire's mom had taken her away - let her grow up without him.. and then maybe when they meet again when she is an adult it wouldn't have creeped me out so much...

  • Yeah. Jacob/Liger will always be weird b/c of her being Bella's daughter and all, among other things.

But you're right. If Quil had left Claire alone until she was an adult I could *almost* get behind it. But not like this.

  • When I read those quotes, I was like, 'I've read/heard them before.' Then I saw the last one and went, 'Hey wait, didn't Michael Jackson say that?' XDDD Anyways I agree whole heartedly with you. The idea of imprinting is just wrong especially imprinting on a child who doesn't know what imprinting is. You did a wonderful job.

  • Again with the Conflicts That Would Have Won, a werewolf who fought his imprinting would have been awesome.

Also, I find it disturbing that once a werewolf imprints, his entire personality seems to alter and revolve around The One. Jacob went from hardcore cynical dude to prissy babysitter in one fell swoop. If he knows what's best for Renesmee, he'll make Bella take care of her own damn child. Speaking of, have you discussed the ridiculous convenience of her development yet? I lose track.

  • I hate the Imprint Thing.. It is Crazy and SM is one Sick Sic Person... Burn The SM!!!

  • I do agree that any relationship involving any adult or young adult and an under aged child should never have been introduced into the storyline. It is wrong and disgusting. I do think that SM set out to give her self inserted Mary sue character Bella everything that she wanted, which is really selfish in my opinion. I'm surprised she didn't squeeze Mike Newton and the rest of the town boys into Bella's life to sit at her feet and oggle in her Bella-ness.

  • thanks for the links on the previous part :)

  • I am 99.9% positive imprinting was never mentioned in Twilight - it first came up in New Moon. Which means it came after Forever Dawn/Breaking Dawn.

I used to check out the boards on Twilight Lexicon right before and after BD and from what I could tell, the hard core Team Jacobites were none too pleased with the imprinting. I believe they led the charge against BD on that site before it crashed. I don't go there anymore as I was one of the haters that got chased away and came to Amazon.

  • I was on team jacob. I was disappointed with the decision for Jacob to imprint on Nessie. When Leah was written in his storyline, I was so happy because the story was leading to Jacob imprinting on Leah! And then out of the blue he imprints on that thing. UGH. Jacob could have been redeemed. But no, not even Team Jacob fans could get the happy ending for him. How horrible he has to settle for his love's kid. yuck.

I love your vids by the way.

  • heyyy its ellieb

i was on team jacob and then i was team eric lol
