My mother could sing and play ,she would record on am old tape recorder. A few days after she passed away,I found a tape with her singing and playing this song,She had always sang for us seven children and family members,I knew nothing about this song until that day, couldn't believe she never sang it for us,She did die to young, she just had her 69 th birthday, She did live to see her children grow, our youngest brother was 29 The words in this song still makes me cry after 15 years.
this song is very inspiring i ask the lord every night to keep me around till i'm to old to die young i lost my mom when she was70 i think she was to young to die
@jd450lh The backup singers are Carol Chase (Lynyrd Skynard Band) and Lisa Silver (wrote Forty Hour Week for Alabama, and One Promise Too Late, for Reba) They were the BEST!!!
Bring me the tissue box.......... God just looks down and see's what we are doing, he can't be happy to see what we have grown into.. especially after doing it over and over and over...
if you like this then , you need to get directv and see him on rfdtv at 7pm centrral . he did this last week. all the country stars you know are here telling there stories . on Country Family Reunion
@46catman You are absolutely right! And then you might want to order the dvds. Watching RFD got me back to watching and listening to music, especially country music. As my son and I watched, we would say, "now we can't order" and then we would watch another episode and say the same thing. Then of course we ended up ordering all of them, Even the 2010. We have watched them over and over. Then I found you tube and I am totally hooked!!!
I lost my mom at 52 years of age, leaving behind 6 kids, a few grandchildren. She always was there for each of us regardless of what was going on in her life. She always wanted to watch us grow up into good adults. She lost her battle with cancer and we lost her to soon. She never did get to watch us grow up....God I miss her. Now I have children and Im fighting renal failure, but as god as my witness, Im going to try my best to be there for them and watch them grow.
@zztop2u as I read your posting here, I stopped and asked God to be with you, I pray that you feel Jesus picking you up and carrying you when it is needed and then HE sets you back down so that you can push on for yourself and your family. I BELIEVE IN MIRACLES, I have witnessed many in my lifetime. Bless you and keep the Faith. God gives us the strength we need through each and all things.
@zztop2u Do this: Keep in Jah love, in truth and deed....and you will find strength and great hope. Much love to you and your family from Country music fans. You will surely see your children grow....
This song was played at my Great Grandmothers funeral. This was her all the way, she just wanted to watch her children grow. She was an awesome ol country girl! Nannie, ill love you more than you'll ever know
Thank You, Moe Bandy. When my husband played this song to me, we just started dating. We married in 1979. He always played the G-tar and sang around our campfires. Your song "Till Old To Die Young" was always a favorite, and my personal favorite. He enjoyed singing and guitar pickin' around a campfire. I lost my dear, sweet husband, Ray Lashley, unexpected,December 2008. Our son and daughter are grown now, and I miss Ray every day. Thank You, Moe Bandy
I remember this well, In 1976 I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus, and the first time I heard this song, I decided this would be my theme song for a long battle with a serious illness. So here I am listening to my theme song on youtube, and watching my 16 yr. old daughter grow and turn into a beautiful young lady. Thank you God and Moe Bandy for strength, faith, and encouragement!!
this always reminds me of my granny. if your the angel and you see this granny i love you:)and im sorry about your funeral but i cry so hard about you that i swear when i see you in heaven the sun will be brighter:))
