@Sabley Well, yes, its interesting, an attractive person that is interested in developing her being in order to obtain success instead of obtaining a success emulation in form of praise from admirers of your physical attributes. And,,, oh, wait, I checked your channel, you're actually the most incompetent person I've found this week. People, don't mind her, she's the type of musician and scientist that can only perform this, Cage's 4:33, and will only work in a lab to emulate Ke$ha's tech! =P

Nice. I love this experiment, or even these kind of experiments, for the matter. Some other dude is trying the same, with both audio and video, so it'll be interesting to see what happens. He's up to the 1000th right now. Probably just this harmonic kind of sound and a brownish/blank video.
Anyways, loved your experiment. And it only took 15 times to get to this point? Maybe I'll try this then, if the results are this immediate.
You are amazing for even knowing about this, let alone doing this. I must now subscribe to your channel. Check out Lucier's record called "Still and Moving Lines of Silence in Families of Hyperbolas. The microtonal glassandi from the percussive instruments in it are just amazing.
i am listening to the 45 min version its beautiful!!, im curious to try this out, does the voice have to be recorded at specific dB´s? i dont want to blow my speakers...
Interesting study in distortion and reproduction. A question about the camera work -- it looks an awful lot like some kind of PXL-2000-style filter. How did you do it?
I just did this in my basement with subwoofers (I have a low voice) and the whole house shook. If you want to make it interesting do the same thing with some a Capella music. I used the national anthem by En Vogue. It resonated so nicely with the concrete walls
ooh good idea. i need to rent a microphone and try this in my apartments stairwell, concrete and cinderblock. the echo reverb would be overwhelming ahah

I've only just listened to a thirteen minute version online and I thought it was incredible. I love the crackles and scratches of the analog drone. What about it blew you away? I'm not sure if I could explain it.
The short version's way different. It's the 1969 original. I'll put the url in - just swap-out the stuff in brackets. -- ubu(dot)com(slash)sound(slash)lucier(dot)html
Great experiment! Keep it up, you discover some interesting things!

It is an amazing piece, and people either get it or don't. The ones that do I think appreciate SOUND more, and can find music where most can't.

@BrokenBjartur thank you! haha
Yeah it only took 15 times because I have a very open living room with a loft, so there's just tons of reflections and reverb.

@Sabley
Ahh, that makes sense. Not sure how well our house is suited then. Might try anyways, if I get myself something to record with, that is.
Cheers.

You know what? Scratch that. Anything else by Lucier in your priority musical listening thing should be "Music On a Long Thin Wire"

There was definitely nothing fancy involved in the camera haha. I used a mac iSight camera (built into the computer).
