  • wat can i do i got a aldot sav that will not eat frozen rats only frozen chicken harts and gizared

  • @TheEvilPaintballer

A savannah monitor should be eating a diet mostly composed of insects, try rubbing the chicken onto a big roach, or locust, and any healthy sad should gobble it down.

  • Amen brother, I have 20 varies snakes and 12 varies lizards. Only time I feed thawed is when i'm running low on live.

  • i think, at the begin, he don`t wanna stand up XD

  • this guys looks hungry LOL

  • I feed my pythons live and they tend to know how to get the mouse pretty well but sometimes i do need to put something in the mice mouth while its being constricted cause for some reasons my pythons just love to bite them by the tails.

  • Your a cool guy,im a reptile owner myself and i love it.I have thought of making videos but im not to good on making them but other than that you give a lot of useful information and i thank you for that.I have a Savannah monitor myself and a golden gecko that i have had for three years.Your a cool guy and i think you should keep doing what your doing because your good at it.

  • To follow on from what i was saying, i think that the pray animals characteristics changes when put in an enclosed space it's almost as if it knows there really is no escape and it becomes more vicious giving more of a chance that your reptile will get injured, it must be that fight or flight program that all animals have inbuilt in them including us. Anyway does anyone think that muffdaddy looks like phill jupitus???

  • Here in the UK it's illegal to feed live pray, but then again everything is illegal over here. It obviously goes on behind closed doors, all depends if your animal will accept dead pray, not a problem for a monitor as most of what they eat is rotting anyway, they are low on the food chain. I don't live feed my bosc as i think out in the wild the rodent has a 50-50 chance of escape, and in the viv its got no chance.

  • fatass

  • @gokuvegeta562 ignorant bitch

  • Live, PK or F/T, I only do F/T if I'm out of live, granted that isn't often w the small breeding project I have to feed my animals. I prefer PK and use a CO2 box along with the dangle and dodge method =P. However I do have some animals, mainly my ball pythons that wont anything but live. So I guess I have to say the best way to feed is which ever way you're comfortable with and your animals are responsive to. Nice vid, I know Im late as hell posting, but I wanted to throw my 2 cents in.

  • muffdaddy just isnt the same without mike :(

  • Great video; I loved listing to what you were saying even though i don't have any reptiles XD

  • aww your RTB looks like mine, its the first one I have found in a rep video that looks like her. Also I can't wait till my nile monitor gets bigger

  • pre kill the rodents by getting the amount you want > then put them in a rubber maid box > put a small container that has dry ice in it > shut the lid and there u go pre killed rats and mice in less then a min; if the co2 flow isn't really thick and is spreading out slowly just spray it with a little bit of water and it will increase the amount of co2 thats being released

  • live feeding is just unnecessary suffering

  • this is a very educational vid i recommend this vid to all my friends who own a reptile

    good job man nice vid

  • Dang u just whipped out a switchblade hahah, is that legal in your State? Lol, There are the obvious reasons why I only feed FT, but one not so obvious is I had a friend who kept his collection mite free for yrs like I do, then one day for fun decided to go to a pet shop and feed his boas live, then he suddenly had mites in his snakeroom, true story! Great vid man!

  • 1.05 im sure we all thought he meant its time for him to feed himself

  • In fact this is the main issue that most people have with the live feeding sect, its that they get off on the deaths of the small animals. In my country it is a criminal offense to live feed, It teaches the dangerous pets to strike at small moving objects. Thats why kids have been attacked by them.

  • this show sucks balls!

  • @mxmen44 fuck u9

  • Oh and dude, whats with the grown sav in a FISHTANK??? Is that wood-chips on the bottom of it? NOT GOOD! Brush up on your husbandry for the sake of your animals please.

  • Theres NO reason to feed live prey to a monitor. The guy in the video should be fed live prey for the sake of excersize obviously.

  • @slippy441 u r soo right i agree with u :D

  • @hannahhalo331 Fellow monitor keeper huh? cool beans. I just hope nobody sees this and thinks "well this guy seems to know what he's talking about. I should keep my new sav just like that". Not only that but savs arent supposed to be eating mice but very rarely.

  • gosh i love your savs im currently a beardie owner. always wondered if i could handle a sav

  • they eat live in wild so whats wrong with it in captive r u loacation racist lol hahah jk

  • I used to go back and forth on feeding live and frozen. However, my snake got mites from the mice at the pet store so now I will only be feeding frozen. My snake has also been bitten. If you are having a moral crisis over which is better, maybe you shouldn't own reptiles

  • damn...Monitors are brutal.

  • Reptiles eat rodents.

    Fact of life.

    Reptiles are not vegan.

  • i prefer live food because of the better nutrition..i've actually just now started offering pre-killed to see if they're still interested in something thats already dead (or close to it) so i dont have to worry about injuries & its been working. so i have happy, full bellied, non-injured reptiles at every feeding. another good thing with keeping live food is breeding them, it saves u money, just make sure to keep your breeder food as clean as your reptiles to keep diseases away. love the vids :)

  • LiVE! ALL THE WAY! thats one of reasons for getting an exotic pet! eh?!

  • @DTOXuno Or to taste one. Heh heh heh...

  • @Bidmartinlo Aha! WTF?!

  • @DTOXuno Do it, Metal Gear style! If you get my meaning...

  • @Bidmartinlo lol! i dont!

  • hi man i love the way u always find away to make me smile and laugh

  • I go with whatever the reptile prefers.

  • i agree with him this tape was good

  • Hey Muffdaddy!

do you have any suggestions for how to get a baby sav (like 6-7 inch) to eat eggs? he has a voracious appetite but only for live food (roaches and crickets) and i want to fit some hard boiled eggs into his diet. i saw your sav casserole vid which was awesome...i would like to have that in my life someday. please help

  • @sunafish1

Roaches and crickets are fine. Savannah monitors mainly eat invertebrates in the wild. Eggs are a much worse food item for them. Would be like someone who has their dog on raw food switching to Iams or Kibbles N' Bits

  • hey what is up Muff

    great video

  • Hey man ran into ur vids today there great LOVE THE MUSIC.Sorry to hear about mike but it can happen when u punish ur body like i do lol its k food taste great though!

    RIP MIKE DAVIS

  • when you said 'what i like to use is a " i thought u were gonna get out ur 9mm

  • good to see you back Nick. Keep that info going! Lots of poeple NEED it!

  • love your boa!

  • I do think for the reptile live is more exciting and gives them a chance to do what they were born to do, it is no fun for the dinner but that's life. Great video as always.

  • My problem with live feeding is the possibility of the reptile being injured in the process by the live rodent, thats my #1 main concern and why I dont feed live.15 years ago I was feeding a ball python a small rat...well,the rat attack an caused some nasty wounds which then got infected.Rodents have powerful jaws and those teeth can be serious.I prefer not to risk it as I love my animals and don't want them being injured. We all have different opinions,I just dont see the need for it.Great vid!

  • @RpLaIcHzEiT yeah the same thing happened to my ball python except he died from it =/ just gotta be really careful when feeding live

  • @RpLaIcHzEiT next time take the rat and smash its head on the wall so that you can brake its jaw before you through it in.

  • @RpLaIcHzEiT You also should consider that because the animal is captive already, how abotu take the safety even further and feed the animal pre-killed. I would like to also tell you that rats and mice are intelligent than 1 year infants and are more aware of what is going on than a baby, and yet if someone were to a feed a baby to their snake, people would make big deals about it.

  • @RpLaIcHzEiT *are more intelligent than a 1 year old*

  • I happen to have a rat and a ball python. I never fed my BP live and he has nicer looking scales than many people's snakes on YouTube that are fed live. Also, many people are very cheap with their snakes and prefer to the give them the smallest habitat possible for them. They keep them in shitty RubberMaid containers and do not have enough decorations, lighting, and bedding that would stimulate a snake to a level that it would accept pre-killed.

  • i miss my savy im trying to get a nile monitor

  • Something I noticed is that the same people that support live have a problem with the same thing happening to dogs and cats, even if WE ate them. Another thing I noticed is that most have no problems with inverts getting eaten, and most do with feeding other herps.

  • I like doing both, if I bred rodents and my snakes took both live and F/T, I would feed live when available and F/T all the other times.

Holy cow, I have to admit that it's cool.Kinda nasty when inverts and turtles do it though. Watching frogs and fish eat mice is also kinda less "stimulating" than watching a snake constrict, in my opinion.

  • Great vid

  • You know I'm very anti-live feeding, sometimes people say that Muffdaddy is bad because of live feeding and are surprised to hear that we're friends. We differ on so many things but I always have to say I admire you because you have the balls to put your face on youtube and say what you think.

this video was well done and even if I disagree with some of it, you expressed what you think very clearly and sincerley.

  • @billflowers No you got it wrong, People say MuffDaddy is wrong because he laughs and sets to music the screaming and agonizing deaths of what are basically tame pet small animals . Him and his strange morbid friends LOVE to stand filming and watching, laughing and getting a REAL kick out of watching the animals slowly gasping for breath as their DANGEROUS pets slowly strangle the small animals.

  • Cool Video,Nice Info On F/T & P/K And Live Thumbs Up~

  • well since im civilized and from a civilized country and not like dirty america i feed mine defrosted, dont have to get my hands dirty, theres no suffering and its cheap

  • @herpfreakuk

Where does nationality even come in to play in this video? Still butt hurt over the Revolutionary War?

  • @herpfreakuk So how come Singapore isn't the world's superpower? To tell you the truth, most people would think the UK is just as "dirty" as the US. F/T can get your hands "dirty", sometimes there can be suffering, and sometimes the prices are outrageous.

    Greetings from Korea!

  • I've kept snakes on and off for the last 20 years and have always fed live and always will. I've never had an animal getting internal parasites or mites for that matter. Definitely not ever gonna change my feeding practices because someone thinks it's politically incorrect!!

  • lol i aint gonna lie....thats one of the many reasons why i love reptiles..lol

  • Wow...Big let down thought my vid wood be in ther Or verbal but pfffffffft waited all tht time :P

  • hay muff quick question...whos taking care of mikes snakes and rats? did u take them? of did his wife get rid of them? just wondering because i saw the ending and the question poped in my head lol

  • is that a milk and a bp in the same tank?

and y arent u goin on live

  • did you have a milk snake with a royle/ball python ?? lol nice vid one again

  • Live is definatley cooler than frozen, but I feed frozen most of the time.

  • Comment removed

  • I pre-kill my feeders. I sometimes feed frozen thawed, but the majority of them time, I just kill the rodent and give it to my animals.

  • I just love this guys vids haha seen every one!

  • yea... we all know its kool =]

  • oh man now I want a tuna sandwich :)

  • awesome video as always man

  • lol yah it is cool:P Awesome video bro
