You know - I can not STAND iTunes (in fact it is the one thing that stopped me getting an iPod... I dislike it that much) but that was really well put. :D
"That's where your audience is." (or words to that effect) seems spot on.
This doesn't mean I'm going to like using it - or not consider setting up an old machine with iTunes on it purely so I don't need to infect my main computer with it... but still... well put!
I just started a podcasts....well it's in pre-production planning stages now but I'm thinking of doing a video podcast with a few skype members and me in the control studio as well as covering the host position. I can't wait to start. I figure we will record many episodes as well as have backups in case we can't link up each weekend but I'm stuck on finding a free hosting site to put all my media on and create the RSS feed for iTunes...I can't see spending money on something I do for fun...
Wizzard Software (WZE:AMEX), the world's largest podcasting network and companion iPhone app maker, stands to gain largely with the growth of this medium.
Nice Nice Video. I really loved your video. Youtube can be a great asset for you. If you need any help getting your video exposed, check out this site called tubeviews [dot net] It has really done wonders for me, I have built 3 Channels up with videos at top in position and this is my forth channel i'm going to working on.
As one who does not have an I(piece of #&$^)whatever - sorry but I work for the company that sells them and they are not worth their money. I do understand your methodology. Getting your marketing message out to as many people as possible makes for the most profit. Itunes is huge in market share. My question to you then is this... How can you elicit possible customers to download your podcast, listen to it, then take action to buy when time is truly a commodity?
I am one of these people who does not own an iPhone or an ipod, mainly because I have some hearing problems and can not use them to listen to music etc. So in agreement with others can we get them in a format that I could write to a Cd and then listen to them in the car?
I can listen on the computer but it would be nicer to be able to listen to them whilst driving.
I am sorry Ed but I am starting to think that you are on Apples payroll. You are promoting everything they do whilst ignoring the fact that 96% of people do not buy Macs as they are massively overpriced. On top of that any Apple software, itunes in particular, is very badly written for Windows causing numerous problems. If you want us to follow you then put it in a format, MP3 anybody ?, that is available to the masses rather than the minority. No disrespect to Mac users but you are outnumbered.
Sorry, Ed, I don't have an iPhone and don't plan to get one. Maybe when they don't force me to use it with one of "their" service providers...
Why not just simply make your podcasts available as the usual downloadable mp3 for the millions of people who are not i-anything? Why force people to download iTunes if they don't want to?
Thanks for the info. However, you seem to be assuming everyone knows basically how to use iTunes. I have no idea how you found that page "Internet Marketing this week". You just showed it on the screen and started talking about the different buttons. Is that a webpage I need to go to? did you get there from itunes? I don't know. After that I kind of gave up on your talk.
Bravo. Keep spoon feeding us small bits of actionable content and we will follow you to the ends of the internet. I recently have started using iTunes on my PC so "When the student is ready the teacher appears" applies.
Another great video Ed, I can't wait to watch how to do my own podcasts!! Sometimes I think you read my mind. Plus I hear Santa may be bringing me an iPhone :)
Ed you've done a bang-up job with all that you do, however if iTunes is going to be your distribution method from here on out, I just have to say it's been great and hope to see you again sometime.
Thanks Ed! Love it! I'd also like to recommend Dan Carlin's Hardcore History podcast and his Common Sense podcast - great fun and one of the few people who can bring history alive and make politics palatable!
Sorry Ed but although I have the greatest respect for you there is no way I am ever going to put that piece of crap called itunes on my computer. I know you are an Apple fanboy but most of us are not and I refuse to put anything from Apple of my computer due to the way it takes over, crashes the computer and puts software on there that nobody wants. If you want us to listen then put it in a format that everybody can get without forcing them to put dubious sofyware on their computers.
Ed, If you keep wearing that pink jacket there's gonna be some illicit rumors flying round the net about you, or were you doing your best Elton impersonation?
are you a kiwi?
