Yeah, Dawkins doesn't deal with that in his books. It's a very broad area to discuss with a multitude of incorrect answers. If a general answer is given, it tends to be more vacuous. There can be certain guidelines in the area that might be worth considering, but there is no real solution.
Some might say "Oh, all it is is honesty". Maybe so, if you are willing to think that those families who disown atheists, and the kids are better off without the families. I'm not sure I'd go that way.

@Pushtrak That kind of thing doesn't happen here in Ireland, or I should say I have never heard of it. It certainly does in, say the states.
