true. but it has a big part of it in the stand up with many fighters in terms of kicks, elbows and the muay thai style clinch. its MIXED martial arts, so the fighters will take aspects of different fighting styles and combine them to make their onslaught. though in many mma gyms today what they teach is basic muay thai, wrestling and bjj. hope it cleared it up

It is a mixture of Karate, Kung Fu, TKD and Kick Boxing.

Its been vidly known as a type of MMA for a very long time.

Great vid, I dont get to see K1 much, usually just watch UFC type stuff. Some impressive fighters there

That is Jerome Le Banner. The fighter getting knocked out was knocked down right before that happened and the round was also over. He was still dazed. The referee was waving his arms for them to stop and I guess neither one saw him and you know the rest...lol.
