  • This is the best thing The Fray has ever done.

I'm not even a big Fray fan. This isn't even much of a song that I was that keen on from the original Achtung Baby from U2 neither. But this...this is magical. One of the best covers I've ever listened to. Just magical. :D

I'm glad this album exists, just so THIS cover can exist.

  • i just fell in love with this song ... and even more with his voice

  • love this. different from the usual fray songs. sounded more upbeat for sure

  • I still prefer original track. Adam bass and Larry drums were the best period!

  • im a huge u2 AND the fray song. i like both but i actually like this song better. I dont know why but i just love this version.

  • I agree that this is a great cover - but to say it is even remotely in the same league as the original is insane. The Fray is great but they are no U2 . . . . . .

  • love it *-*

  • This is a COVER, not a duplicate or an exact remake. The Fray has their own style and they are going to use that style when they cover songs. A cover would be pointless if the band made it sound exactly the same as the original. Some of you are so ignorant, seriously. If you don't like The Fray's style then obviously you're not gonna like this cover. In my opinion, they did a great job covering this song using THEIR style. I bet U2 actually loves this cover.

  • MUCH better than the original. Love it. Gets all up in grill, burns it, than burys the original.

  • Why are the majority of these covers so slow? Was that a requirement.

  • I'm a huge U2 fan, but I'm not going to lie, I like this version better

  • @TSBA92 I concur. And Sunday Bloody Sunday is my G.S.O.A.T. Huge U2 fan

  • When I first heard this, I was kind like, whoa! This sounds like it could have written by The Fray. Until you get to the weird line about the fish and the bicycle.

Awesome cover. I actually like it about as much as the original. And that's saying something.

  • I just love the fray...

  • Probably (i repeat, probably) the best cover in this album. Unfortunately Achtung Baby is a masterpiece, nor Patti Smith nor Depeche Mode nor any other may do better than original Achtung Baby. I am both a U2 fan and a "well done" covers fan, so i'm a little bit sorry about this "experiment".

Sorry for my bad english... :D

  • Nice change of keys in the verse, made into a different song but great otherwise!

  • what's wrong with this guy?? tfyin to fow ye armf around the world... what's that supposed to mean??? letters are getting expensive these days i guess... definitely tfe worft cover on the album (and worst genre in history of music).

  • Sounds pretty much like what most crappy MIX stations are playing now a days in America. What the Hell happened to American bands???? Why have they all become such pussies???

  • @1SirMachinery the record industry in america has definitely helped rock music feel more safe and more neutered than ever. whatever bands that get signed seem to go for a certain sound in order for radio and tv appearances so they can make money. it's really soul-crushing in a lot of ways as it raises the question that whether rock music has once again died. I'm starting to say probably unless something serious happens. i really loathe this cover and i hate the fray.

  • this is the worst thing ever.. like goo goo dolls or something. i'm sure lots of housewives would love it.

  • best u2 cover ive heard so far well ive only listebned to pattis cover of the one im doing

  • This has to be one of the weirdest covers i have ever heard. Primarily because the Fray managed to turn a fun and carefree song about crawling home back to your wife after a massive bender, into some fruity emo love ballad. Did these guys not here the song or see it played live? Seriously can you imagine dancing with some hot chick on stage and spraying her with champagne as Bono does live, to this version??

  • @hnair168 Actually, I think the guys got the cover right... Most of Bono's love songs are a bit emo. With or Without you is a prime example. The Fray uses U2 as an influence, so yes, they've probably heard it before. This is just my opinion. I am a big fan of both bands.

  • @hnair168 for one, each artist has their own style, so ur wrong if you expect the cover to be exactly the same as the original, to have the same feeling

  • @TheFrayRocks1 I did not expect the cover to be exactly like the original, that defeats the very purpose of a (good) cover song. And for the record i actually like The Fray, its just the tone of their version is all wrong for this track. If you look at the lyrics this is an unabashed drinking song, i mean Bono even calls this U2's drinking song. In which case the somewhat somber tone they have for this track clashes horribly with the lyrics as can be seen during the "..fish needs a cycle" lyric

  • @hnair168 yeah i get what you mean, and i agree. Just the whole way you put the comment made it sound as if covers were meant to be the same.

  • i love it , it's different then U2's version. Both are very emotional.

  • Can't stand his voice.

  • The Fray forever.

  • Muito bom!!!

  • I like it.

  • No, the best cover did Depeche Mode!

  • the killers didi the best cover, but this is pretty good too :))

  • Not bad. I think this version of the song could be placed in a film, possibly the end credits...

  • nothing against The Fray, they are talend musicians, but they lack the coolness that this song requires

  • i dont love it but is great interpreted

  • my favourite U2' s song !

  • ... the awkward moment when The Fray realize they are not U2. What a bland, insipid cover. I have no sympathy for the life any fan of 'The Fray' must endure. Enjoy!

  • Pretty good, but doesn't touch the original.

  • @awesomenessk Covers aren't supposed to !! just enjoy !

  • Cover is good but not the best. I think GlasVegas with acrobat did the best job. Also the singer really shouldn't have said Dali's whole name. What does he think were stupid.

  • Amazing. Such a great sound

  • best cover from the album

  • Surprised by this track. Very nice indeed

  • Didn't think I would have said this but... I liked it :)
